I told someone that this feels like how people reacted to More and Arson, because it was not only something different but something that THEY hadn't imagine for Hobi. Same with Jimin. It's ok to not like the song. But people with artistic freedom should be able to experiment and try new things without people losing their mind every 5 business days.

People like to rant about the label trying to rob them of their autonomy, but from my perspective it's toxic so called fans that pose a bigger threat.
I may not love every single song they make (I'm looking at you, Dynamite), but I respect their passion and trust them to make their own decisions about the direction of their careers even if it's not what I would have predicted.
They've been working hard for more than 10 years and they're finally at a point where they're showing us their individual growth as artists. If people refuse to grow as listeners, that sounds like a personal problem. I'm staying on this journey with BTS because their music still resonates with me. If people wanna jump off at the next stop, that's fine. They can jump back in down the road if they want or stay off forever. Either way, we're gonna keep it moving.

I have never understood those that speak negatively about anything unless it’s absolutely necessary. If you don’t like the song then just quietly move along. I’m someone who doesn’t need or like attention that way I guess. Those that don’t understand his reasoning for using auto tune and the color choices for the backup dancers did not listen to or read the lyrics nor did they pay attention to the choreography 🙄 Even if you don’t care for his lyrics, how can you not at least respect how he feels within himself? Those that speak so negatively (talking trash) against Set me free who claim to be a fan/Army of his make me believe that they are only a fan of his when he does songs like Promise or Filter and for his looks and personality. If you look back at so many songs BTS have created, it’s actually not a shock that Jimin went in this direction for this song. He is finding himself as a solo artist and is going to try new things he has always wanted to and speak about his feelings, so either grow with him or move along.

You know what is funny about Set Me Free Pt 2, it was largely only kpop stans hating on it. Producers and even trained singers liked it because well..they actually understand music and artistic expression. It's also ironic that the part that k-pop stans shit on the most went and is still going viral on TikTok (RIP???). Another ironic thing though, I saw so many kpoppies saying "What opps does he have?" and do they not realise it's them?? Like this song is directly addressing them (the opposition), talking about how he will be mocked and shit on and it just goes over kpop stans' heads. There is a reason in the Proof photoshoot that Jimin's shield/vault door had the most damage done to it. K-pop stans, especially girl group stans have notoriously been nasty towards Jimin. They misgender him every chance they get, he's gotten multiple death threats, they've made horrific remarks about raping/sexually assaulting him, and kpoppies want to act like he doesn't have opps? Please. Set Me Free Pt 2 was about Jimin affirming himself and telling all these twats to fuck off and the aggression behind the sounds gets that across.

I really hate to comment on things I did not like because it did not meet expectations, but I am doing this because Jimin (and V) are the only ones from BTS that I feel cheering for. I guess they are a different type of artists than the ones I usually admire, but I do hope the auto tune and loud background/back-up is not going to be a recurring theme on his other songs, and he also gets to experiment on other tonalities or I will feel it will sound bland (of course I know hardcore fans will not feel it). Just my 2 cents, since I really want more artists that create timeless stuff than just trendy stuff that cannot last a generation.
