This opening was so good at showing how it's different in tone compared to 2003. In 2003, where most of the openings gave you this feeling that this world is imaginative and limitless, Brotherhood's openings say that every memory, every decision that you make, matters.
She really is. She also loved how the animators and peeps did the 2003 series while she was finishing the manga. She even wrote the ending to the 2003 series.
The shot at 0:48 always makes me profoundly sad. Edward losing his arm and leg and Al losing the entirety of his physical body... and also Winry kinda feeling the aftershock of this trauma. It's just really great imagery combined with the "drop" of the song.
I should too, rewatched a lot of others, but for some reason I stay away from rewatching this Maybe I want to keep the memory of watching it for first time or something
My dear friend and I since childhood both loved this show so much. He and I lost touch, not because of anything bad but because we were growing up, life was in the way sometimes. I got the transmutation circle and the ouroboros on my chest, one day (not preplanned mind you) he sends me a picture of the tattoo he just got, coincidentally he got the same one on his chest. He passed two years ago today. Like Mustang said "Im desperately putting together the theory of human transmutation in my head. I feel like I know how those boys felt when they tried to transmute their mother" Oh how I wish I could transmute you back. It truly is, a terrible day for rain. Rest in Peace Trevor.

I mean I rewatched it with a mate that hasn't seen it like 12 years later, the story telling and world building was so great I could still remember keypoints but it's still cool to have someone around that reacts live as someone that has never seen it before. I also rewatched other shows that weren't as absolutely well made and those I couldn't remember as specific as this one so maybe if you wait 20 years you can rewatch it again relatively blind again or maybe just watch the original anime that was published before the mangas story was finished, it's like a parallel World version I guess, it's nice.
This is the best shonen I have ever seen, only the necessary chapters, no characters are used and discarded because they all matter, there are no characters with broken abilities, there are no power levels, a story well told from beginning to end

The original had some boring filler but it also explored the homunculi in a deeper and more mature way, where in brotherhood they were pushovers who got no real backstory. The ending was also a lot darker, which was way more fitting/appropriate. The author had too much fandom/popularity and she caved/turned the writing into something sub-par. There are literally zero consequences for Edward and his brother after the bullshit they did. Al losing his memories spent as a suit of armor was much better writing and bittersweet. But no some feel-good garbage ending is better amirite?

I understand the 03 fans being bitter about brotherhood completely overshadowing the original because it does do some things better but on the whole its just has a lackluster second half and has little to no payoff for everything it set up.
Even though there are countless animes that have come up in the future like MHA, Demon Slayer, JJK and many more, this anime still stands the test of time as the greatest to ever do it! I always come back to this masterpiece of an OP every now and then, to relive those moments all over again!! ❤🔥

The real agenda is the Alchemists of Western Alchemy were no cowards and not afraid to defy authorities just to obtain this Philosopher's Stone. It's been written in the oldest manuscript on Earth which is NOT the Dead Sea Scrolls but the Emerald Tablets of Thoth. A legend has it a King came down from heaven on his golden throne and gave Thoth a message to step out of the darkness and into the light and you will receive immortality. This immortality from the light has to be the Philosopher's Stone according to Legend the stone is so powerful it can pierce death its self even Zeus king of the gods and thunder even had a Philosopher's Stone which transcended him into a so called god and what gave birth to Atlantis. Now I wonder how many ancient civilizations BC or Before Christ have actually had a Philosopher's Stone because even the Thule society in real life was obsessed with a Buddhist Legend called Shambala does this sound familiar at all to any FMA fans? Even the Thule society was also involved in the practice of Alchemy which means we might actually be on the other side of the gate in real life and most of the show is an actual fact.

FMAB is one of the best series I've watched period and I've watched plenty of cult and great animes. I still need to finish FMA 2003 though.
This opening perfectly sets the tone for the new adaptation, while summarizing everything we need to know from the original adaptation. It's one of those perfect openings that come once in a blue moon.
