I’m super surprised that they didn’t have OYO (Hooters at the time) parking garage blocked off so you couldn’t be so close to that. Because of all the dust flying immediately after. When my daughter and I went to watch the last of the Riviera get imploded, they had us so far away we could barely see and the dust STILL reached us afterwards.
Yea...I saw Riviera too---have a great video..... This implosion at the Trop was very hush-hush....no news media alert...... A friend that worked at Excalibur back then alerted me that it was going to happen....it was unplanned--the building was being demolished by heavy equipment and they had a situation where a sudden collapse nearly killed a couple workers---so they decided to implode the remaining half.... There were very few police and barricades at this event---no big crowds like you normally see when they bring down a big tower..... Oh--the dust cloud never got us on the garage!---the camera zoom just makes it LOOK bigger....
@@gregc3430now that I think about it, perhaps the dust didn’t reach you is because the building wasn’t very tall. Small building/small amount of dust. I think it’s so cool you got to witness this and capture it! I never even realized a section of the building was gone. 😂
@gregc340 The implosion of the Tropicana from this year was very emotional marking a final farewell. That happened same thing as did with the 300 wing, but the final with the Paradise Tower and the Club Tower was a special event.
@@lighttower2931I don’t know. I think the two big towers coming down were a much bigger spectacle than just that 3story wing. I was there to watch the final implosion Tuesday night but I wish I’d have been able to watch this 3story one go down too.
The Trop has been dropped. We will remember! 1957-2024
two weeks away from the huge Tropicana implosion of both the 22 story Paradise and the Club towers. Sadly, no public viewing.
Too cool

0:36 is when the demolition begins
Just wait for the main Trop hotel, and The OYO to make room for the new indoor ballpark for The Athletics.
