Now if I go to my iPhone I can see the community page, however, it’s very rare that I watch TH-cam on my phone. I'm an ice skater and the following is a variation of how we get up off the ice, to help us get up off the floor without anything to lean on. Get on your hands and knees and then pull one knee up (let's say left for example) with that foot flat on the floor. Then use your left hand on that leg just above the knee, the right hand on the floor, the right foot toes curled under a bit to help you push off and up with all three. Keep that left hand on the left leg, when you get high enough, pivot the right foot so you can place the right hand on the right leg just above the knee. Slowly walk the hands up, keeping the knees bent and slowly roll up into a standing position. It's something to practice regularly to keep your legs strong.
That’s how ived learned how to get myself up when I fall if I’m not hurt. I pulled my Achilles tendon once trying to get up. It slowly got well. I try to avoid hitting my head when I fall. I have strong bones, apparently. 😅
My sister turned 70 in Feb. this year ( I'll be 67 in may ) and she cried for week because she felt all those past years she didn't have because of a busy life the years rushed by unnoticed ( and I also feel that ) so I suggested when we have a catch up to reminisce about our fun days as teenagers , the discos , great music , boyfriends and what clothes we wore ( we would go out together ) and it's a reminder there was a fun life before getting busy with work , husband, kids , looking after ageing parents and so on , it helps you to keep things into perspective and enjoy those carefree days 😊 💜 🇦🇺
I forgot to mention that i love your decorating shows and when you take us shopping with you. I can no longer drive and i really appreciate these outings with you. love you Patty

20 years ago, I would take my mom to luncheons with her former co-workers, all in their 80s+, & listening to them was an education! One memorable time, a gal said, "You know what I discovered this week? I can't jump!". They had all also discovered they couldn't get up off the floor -- these abilities slip away when we're not looking, so being reminded is such a great service, Patti! I think something special on Mondays would be great. I just turned 80 in January and I can’t get over the changes in my body and my thoughts on my own aging. I would love to hear what you and other women are feeling about this stage in our lives. I have been really giving a lot of thought to how I want to spend my next stage in life. I’m almost 56. I’ve been watching for a little more than a year now because I love your outlook on aging and just life in general. You also have a calming voice and lovely southern accent that reminds me of my home state.

Patti, I think the video showing how to get up off the floor is a great idea. The first segment should be how to get up until you can do it hands-free. My suggestion is to tell people (men too) to crawl over on your knees to a sturdy piece of furniture, put your strongest knee/leg bent at a right angle in front of your hips & push down with your leg while holding on to the furniture for balance only. The leg is doing the work. This works for me because I have one weak knee. The other hint I wish you would cover is the exiting of a chair without pushing/pulling on the arms of the chair. This strengthens the large muscles in your thighs which help getting in/out of cars, chairs & your need to get up from the floor. Great ideas esp for people that have young grandchildren or pets. Also, recommend people to stay off ladders, encourage grabbers for reaching over their shoulders on for dropped items on the floor. I love your makeup evaluations, honest & AFFORDABLE recommendations. Stay healthy
I love, love,love the idea of makeover Mondays! The part that really got me excited was, I’ll call it, “graceful aging”. I don’t want to stop living life, but I need to do things differently, and gracefully, like getting up from the floor. My husband and I call our new normal. I find the more “plans” I have in place, the more I enjoy doing things, and people enjoy me being there. What I don’t like is my tendency to not put on makeup, etc unless I’m heading out for something specific. I don’t want lazy to be a way of life… so, long thoughts short, looking forward to all the tips you’re going to share!!!
It's true that some of us who are younger than 65 (barely😜) are concerned about getting older but I just want you to know that I watch because you inspire me. You're so pretty and graceful, positive and full of life. You are proof that getting older does not mean we don't have anything to offer. It's exactly the opposite. Thank you so much.

Advice on "beauty and style?" Get ready for a rough ride. Patty is seeing through some of that now. Not slamming you though. At your age, I was kicking ass professionally, a pretty triathlete. (I am using my husband's TH-cam account, now, for security reasons). Hold onto your hat. Men may remain naive, eternally, but women -- no denial or BS.

I was going on about my woes yesterday(had a bad few days here🥴), I forgot to say that I’m very thankful you over ole covid and are feeling good. I’m sorry about you and your families loss. May God comfort all of you. Covid took 5 of my family members, and that was Grevious. I had it in Dec of 2021-March of 2022. It hit me hard because of my other health issues, and that first round of it left a lot of folks with issues. Again, very thankful you are ok, and… that you will be leaving Arkansas!!!😂Man!! Memories, those comfort me. A neighbor once said if he had a fire, he'd save the photo album. I told him I didn't need to as everyone came to me in my dreams. And the memories come while awake. These weren't just relatives; they were my friends. I don't have to miss them, they are always with me, awake or asleep. But I practice Buddhism. It teaches you to accept what you can't change and make the most of what you do have. And practice makes perfect, at least as perfect as we humans can get which is at the very least peace within the now moment.
Makeover Mondays. Yes..Yes..and YES!!! I’ll be 62 this July 26th. But my physical health is poor. Stairs, uneven ground, and that dreaded getting up off the floor are things I never like. I love just listening to your voice as it is so soothing. I would really like to know how to get up off the floor without a chair near by or a counter to grab on to. That said I am truly sorry for the sorrow you must all feel at the loss of someone you loved. It’s never an easy thing. I trust that over time you will feel a healing of heart and spirit. You are such a beautiful woman, Patti. ❤
Make over Mondays is great. Love the idea of doing the get up off the floor exercises. Even the stand at your kitchen counter exercises would be interesting and helpful. I am aware of physical issues with aging. Your voice is so important because many aging women are not aware of the subtle continual decline in strength, flexibility and balance. Vital information.
First, my condolences to your family. Safe travels home. I love your channel. I just turned 75 in February and I certainly experience all you talk about. I would love the make over Mondays. I, too, have seen the exercise of getting off the floor without using your hands. Would love to see that. I go for strength training twice a week, and it has helped me tremendously. Would love to see ideas on what you pack and wear on your cruises. I retired from a very prominent cruise line after 30 years and I still appreciate seeing how others pack for a cruise. We're going on one very soon. Love your makeup how tos. Also, love your decorating ideas. Thank you for all you do.

Oh yes, Patty! We would love makeover Mondays! How exciting! So sorry about your daughter in law's Father. I know who you are speaking of, and he was a great Doctor! I worked with him some also. I live 35 miles from LR. I am a nurse. He brought me an alpaca shawl when he went to Africa one time! It is beautiful. He brought some to the other wonen he worked with also. But i will say the patients loved and adored him. He told me one day in his office. He said " I'm doing what I love to do." He truly did love his patients. No doubt about it. He was a great man! He will be missed for sure! My thoughts and prayers go to the family.

My daughter and husband are out of the country for two weeks. They are back tomorrow. I know I am going to miss the girls. We haven't stopped we have had so many things we had to do. I am just coming up 69 and I feel I am seeing a difference in how I used to be. It is great to see how well you are doing it gives me hope. I just love listening to you. I just read his obituary. What a delightful, fun, and wonderful man! I like the Makeover Monday idea, more for the 'how to get off the floor demonstration' type of video rather than the makeup. As I inch closer toward either full retirement or working from home later this year, I don't dress in anything more than very casual wear and seldom put on a full face anymore. I still go to the office M-F, but I'm the only one there until June when it closes completely. I'm purging my closet of all the office attire in the near future.

Makeover Mondays sounds like a great idea. I was laughing when you mentioned getting up from the floor. Never in my life thought this would be a problem but guess what it is. Things that come naturally to you when you are younger somehow creep up on you as you get older. Makeup, sleep patterns, shoe issues, even pant issues become a problem. You still want to look good but know you can’t wear jeans with rips in them. My waistline has disappeared, my hair does it’s own thing. Everyday issues plague me lately. You always make me smile, your a good soul Patti.
I love your idea of the Make Over Monday videos. I for one have a hard time choosing what to wear on certain occasions or how to look well put together for any occasion. This would include wearables, hair, makeup even if I’m walking the dog I want to look comfortable and nice. I’m looking forward to these new videos on Mondays. I’m 75 and really don’t go out much and it’s probably the reason I’m out of touch with what to wear and look for my age. Eye make-up application with changing eyesight is a topic I've often thought you might know something of. It's my dilemma. I'm 70 and haven't been wearing really any eye makeup for a very long time. Liner and mascara are the challenging things for me, and it's not that I don't know how, it's that it does require good sight. You are such a class act, an inspiration, and I love that you are thinking so strongly obviously about your content. You sound excited about it and motivated to give us something new!

That’s how ived learned how to get myself up when I fall if I’m not hurt. I pulled my Achilles tendon once trying to get up. It slowly got well. I try to avoid hitting my head when I fall. I have strong bones, apparently. 😅
My sister turned 70 in Feb. this year ( I'll be 67 in may ) and she cried for week because she felt all those past years she didn't have because of a busy life the years rushed by unnoticed ( and I also feel that ) so I suggested when we have a catch up to reminisce about our fun days as teenagers , the discos , great music , boyfriends and what clothes we wore ( we would go out together ) and it's a reminder there was a fun life before getting busy with work , husband, kids , looking after ageing parents and so on ,
it helps you to keep things into perspective and enjoy those carefree days 😊

I definitely NEED the "getting up and down, off the floor", exercise! I am 57, with bad knees, back, joints, etc.
20 years ago, I would take my mom to luncheons with her former co-workers, all in their 80s+, & listening to them was an education! One memorable time, a gal said, "You know what I discovered this week? I can't jump!". They had all also discovered they couldn't get up off the floor -- these abilities slip away when we're not looking, so being reminded is such a great service, Patti! Patti, I think the video showing how to get up off the floor is a great idea. The first segment should be how to get up until you can do it hands-free. My suggestion is to tell people (men too) to crawl over on your knees to a sturdy piece of furniture, put your strongest knee/leg bent at a right angle in front of your hips & push down with your leg while holding on to the furniture for balance only. The leg is doing the work. This works for me because I have one weak knee. The other hint I wish you would cover is the exiting of a chair without pushing/pulling on the arms of the chair. This strengthens the large muscles in your thighs which help getting in/out of cars, chairs & your need to get up from the floor. Great ideas esp for people that have young grandchildren or pets. Also, recommend people to stay off ladders, encourage grabbers for reaching over their shoulders on for dropped items on the floor. I love your makeup evaluations, honest & AFFORDABLE recommendations. Stay healthy
I love, love,love the idea of makeover Mondays! The part that really got me excited was, I’ll call it, “graceful aging”. I don’t want to stop living life, but I need to do things differently, and gracefully, like getting up from the floor. My husband and I call our new normal. I find the more “plans” I have in place, the more I enjoy doing things, and people enjoy me being there. What I don’t like is my tendency to not put on makeup, etc unless I’m heading out for something specific. I don’t want lazy to be a way of life… so, long thoughts short, looking forward to all the tips you’re going to share!!!

It's true that some of us who are younger than 65 (barely😜) are concerned about getting older but I just want you to know that I watch because you inspire me. I was going on about my woes yesterday(had a bad few days here🥴), I forgot to say that I’m very thankful you over ole covid and are feeling good. I’m sorry about you and your families loss. May God comfort all of you. Covid took 5 of my family members, and that was Grevious. I had it in Dec of 2021-March of 2022. It hit me hard because of my other health issues, and that first round of it left a lot of folks with issues. Again, very thankful you are ok, and… that you will be leaving Arkansas!!!😂Man!! That’s a stormy state!!! God bless you and protect you on your way back home, and protect your family you are leaving, and all those ‘kittie cats’😂😂😂
Memories, those comfort me. A neighbor once said if he had a fire, he'd save the photo album. I told him I didn't need to as everyone came to me in my dreams. And the memories come while awake. These weren't just relatives; they were my friends. I don't have to miss them, they are always with me, awake or asleep. But I practice Buddhism. It teaches you to accept what you can't change and make the most of what you do have. And practice makes perfect, at least as perfect as we humans can get which is at the very least peace within the now moment.

Makeover Mondays. Yes..Yes..and YES!!! I’ll be 62 this July 26th. But my physical health is poor. Stairs, uneven ground, and that dreaded getting up off the floor are things I never like. I love just listening to your voice as it is so soothing. I would really like to know how to get up off the floor without a chair near by or a counter to grab on to. That said I am truly sorry for the sorrow you must all feel at the loss of someone you loved. It’s never an easy thing. I trust that over time you will feel a healing of heart and spirit. You are such a beautiful woman, Patti. ❤
Make over Mondays is great. Love the idea of doing the get up off the floor exercises. Even the stand at your kitchen counter exercises would be interesting and helpful. I am aware of physical issues with aging. Your voice is so important because many aging women are not aware of the subtle continual decline in strength, flexibility and balance. Vital information.
First, my condolences to your family. Safe travels home. I love your channel. I just turned 75 in February and I certainly experience all you talk about. I would love the make over Mondays. I, too, have seen the exercise of getting off the floor without using your hands. Would love to see that. I go for strength training twice a week, and it has helped me tremendously. Would love to see ideas on what you pack and wear on your cruises. I retired from a very prominent cruise line after 30 years and I still appreciate seeing how others pack for a cruise. We're going on one very soon. Love your makeup how tos. Also, love your decorating ideas. Thank you for all you do.

So sorry about your daughter in law's Father. I know who you are speaking of, and he was a great Doctor! I worked with him some also. I live 35 miles from LR. I am a nurse. He brought me an alpaca shawl when he went to Africa one time! It is beautiful. He brought some to the other wonen he worked with also. But i will say the patients loved and adored him. He told me one day in his office. He said " I'm doing what I love to do." He truly did love his patients. No doubt about it. He was a great man! He will be missed for sure! My thoughts and prayers go to the family.

Patti, I love the idea of makeover - Mondays I will look forward to that...I am at my daughter's house taking care of her two girls 8 & 5 it has been amazing for the three of us. My daughter and husband are out of the country for two weeks. They are back tomorrow. I know I am going to miss the girls. We haven't stopped we have had so many things we had to do. I am just coming up 69 and I feel I am seeing a difference in how I used to be. It is great to see how well you are doing it gives me hope. I just love listening to you. I like the Makeover Monday idea, more for the 'how to get off the floor demonstration' type of video rather than the makeup. As I inch closer toward either full retirement or working from home later this year, I don't dress in anything more than very casual wear and seldom put on a full face anymore. I still go to the office M-F, but I'm the only one there until June when it closes completely. I'm purging my closet of all the office attire in the near future.

Makeover Mondays sounds like a great idea. I was laughing when you mentioned getting up from the floor. Never in my life thought this would be a problem but guess what it is. Things that come naturally to you when you are younger somehow creep up on you as you get older. Makeup, sleep patterns, shoe issues, even pant issues become a problem. You still want to look good but know you can’t wear jeans with rips in them. My waistline has disappeared, my hair does it’s own thing. Everyday issues plague me lately. You always make me smile, your a good soul Patti.

I love your idea of the Make Over Monday videos. I for one have a hard time choosing what to wear on certain occasions or how to look well put together for any occasion. This would include wearables, hair, makeup even if I’m walking the dog I want to look comfortable and nice. I’m looking forward to these new videos on Mondays. I’m 75 and really don’t go out much and it’s probably the reason I’m out of touch with what to wear and look for my age. I'm not yet 60, and appreciate that you make getting older look effortless. I would love to see what you have set aside for a funeral, and other occassions! Eye make-up application with changing eyesight is a topic I've often thought you might know something of. It's my dilemma. I'm 70 and haven't been wearing really any eye makeup for a very long time. Liner and mascara are the challenging things for me, and it's not that I don't know how, it's that it does require good sight. You are such a class act, an inspiration, and I love that you are thinking so strongly obviously about your content. You sound excited about it and motivated to give us something new!
