- Momis Komvke Hvlwe Tvlofvn, a Mvskoke Creek hymn sung by Wotko Long. This hymn has a dual meaning in that it represents the hardships endured during forced removal on the Trail of Tears; as well as the spiritual journey from this world to the next.

So glad I grew up in ndn church. They preached and spoke in Muscogee. Miss all the elders and people. Always had Great food!
Discovered this song through the tv show Reservation Dogs. Really moved me and encouraged me to discover more indigenous music. As someone who is exhausted of capitalism one yearns for a different way of life
Well, us natives ( or Indians for older generation ) We play this song during funerals of our loved who passed, going to see the lords castle and watch over us to protect and prevent bad things from happening. In the description is the lyrics, I'm Glad you Enjoy the muskogee creek songs.
Thanks for that reply! Makes sense given the scene in which this song played in. Mvto

Miss my song .
I was raised on church ground.
I haven't been back home since my grand mother passed on.
I long to here my old ones sing.
I will in the next world.
I'm mvskoke and don't speak alot of the language but I can hear the pain. My guess is this is about the old lands and how prosperous our people were. Hopefully someone can tell me if I'm wrong or not.
I've posted the lyrics along with a translation in the description. Click on 'show more' in the description to see it all.
@@BadfingerBoogieBarb thanks!
@@BadfingerBoogieBarb I was correct about the pain. Not close about the meaning though. Thanks for posting my brother. I'm gonna take some classes when I get my CDIB renewed and learn the language

Are there any Creek in the Houston area? My Great Grandfather was Mvskoke from the Tifton, Georgia area. My Father was Seminole. I'm trying to locate any Mvskoke in Houston or nearby to learn more about my people.
I'm not sure if there are but I know there's Choctaw there
Hensi ✌🏽I’m from Dallas mvto for asking I am a MCN citizen

This is amazing, glad I stumbled across this. It's great to hear proper songs from the first peoples of America done true to their style, too many songs with added synth stuff and animal noises.
I am curious if any recordings exist of any of the many tribes, similar to what Allan Lomax recorded when he went looking for the bluesers and folkies?
a lot of my people's music sounds like this! if you want more, with added drums and traditional instruments you can search for traditional muscogee music!!
