The defense 'presents their defense' once the prosecution rest. The burden of proof is on the prosecutors, so they mostly take up more time, but the defense will have an opportunity to present their case, when the prosecution rest. Probably next week.

Dumber than dumb they could they could claim it’s a mistrial just because of the stupidity of this officer how embarrassing for that police force. Who in God’s name hired him. was there a psych eval done on this person Was there an apptitude test done before he was hired. I think it’s highly unlikely that another officer would forget who called it in and not know the initials of who was responding to him regarding the firearm. He’s clearly not qualified. I think it’s very scary that this person is in that position.
Why do courts allow people to eat when in the witness box? This is so rude and disrespectful and this police officer should know better. Judge Judy does not allow this in her court room why do these judges in a criminal court. UGH!
I watch crime shows as a past time. The handling of the crime scene by this officer was a little sloppy, IMO. The man who reported it shouldn't have been allowed to walk into it at all, and he did that a couple of times. He should have been cautioned before approaching it, that he should be careful not to encroach it, but to just point and let the officers advance. I was once on a hurricane cleanup, and in the distance, I spotted what I thought was a human skull on the ground where the river had breached. We found the cleanup guide and they got close enough to verify it wasn't a plastic model, then called police...all without tramping around the area.
All the stars had to be aligned for a random guy wandering around in the woods off the beaten path to stumble across Susana's remains. I'm sure the murderer thought he'd found the perfect spot where she'd never be found! If it wasn't for bad luck the murderer would have no luck at all, he guaranteed his own capture at every turn! ( shout-out to the gun that sealed the deal)
Does nobody remember the goy who found caylee Anthony? He found her 2x. First time was soon after she disappeared but the cop didn't want to go in the woods because of the mud. It became swampy and that's why they couldn't determine cause of death.if the cop went out the first time Casey would be in jail

That bastard held her hostage with the gun and most likely forced her into the woods. She is probably the one who broke the mirror and damaged his truck trying to get away smh. I hope he doesn’t last a week in the penitentiary
Why do people, even allegedly educated people such as this prosecutor, using "whenever" when he really means "when." This implies that the officer had been to that same scene multiple times, when in fact, it was is first time there. This form of grammatical slaughter drives me nuts.
Imagine a monster like the defendant taking your lifeless girl way in the woods where it’s dark, isolated and hard to find her. Your 16 year old girl whom you birthed, nurtured is murdered by this psycho-monster. I’m sick to my stomach to know that a human could do such horrendous crimes to this innocent child. Why wasn’t the monster stopped when the young lady who testified on the stand and called 911 when he was stalking and breaking into her home? Each time he got away with committing crimes he finally graduated to murder. I hope his life in prison is hell for him. Susana’s mom was traumatized on the stand. I cried with her, I cried and cried. RIP Susana Morales.🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️
This whole case turns my stomach. If I was involved in any way, I would not be smiling regardless if it happened 2 years ago. It's so gruesome & unfortunate that they didn't take the proper action as soon as she went missing.
The perp more than likely knew of Susana bc he was the safety officer for the apartment that the victim would visit her friend at-but not a personal relationship
I saw the Susana Morales case on The First 48 about a month or so ago so when I saw these videos on TH-cam I was like whoa, I've seen this story on tv. The authorities in this case did a great job of piecing everything together and finding the killer, Miles Bryant. So glad he's been found guilty so Susana's soul can be at peace.

Remember there is a someone on trial, not this officer. People are commenting on his posture, him chewing gum, etc. This officer is young, newer on the force, gaining experience. He did what he was supposed to do that day. He is on the stand to recount what happened (he is not on trial). He literally gasped when they walked up on the body because he had to re-see that (and relive it). I hate when people judge what shouldn’t be. Wow… that’s a long walk deep into the forest in the dark. No wonder it took a long time for someone to find her remains. He might of assaulted and killed her in the car and then carried her body out into the woods.
From the moment this officer parked the vehicle with the driver side door opening into potentially incoming traffic and then after being excused from the witness stand , it is easy to tell , this guy is a clown .
The gun was lying on the ground for 7 months. I'm sure the sun wouldv'e evaporated any oils from people's fingers that may have been on the gun and the rain would've cleaned off the rest.

Hes young and anxious. Why would someone be caught up on him chewing gum.
This world can be so cruel and ugly…
It's not the cruel world but the humans that inhabit it although their are a few good souls out there.
A police officer reports his service weapon stolen and you don't recall????
I thought that mighty strange too.....my red flag meter is rising on that.....they still try to protect these mfs
Thank goodness for video or this guy would not remember anything
He was nervous. Rookie on the job....still in his FTO phase.
It's 2 yrs later....and I gotta say, I'm surprised he didn't remember what NCIC stands for. ALL cops should know that.
@Marsha_
Yes, and he couldn’t remember the name of his field training officer. He was brand new; you’d think everything would have made an impression on him.
Former officer Miles Bryant murdered Susana, not this cop. Miles kidnapped Susana and murdered her! If you google Miles Bryant who murdered her, you can read many articles about her death.
Right?? How could he not even remember who the gun was registered to?? Like, hello?? You are here for his trial man! Strange guy.
So he just stopped on the side of some random road and took her body back there
Read the story, moron.
im sure he dragged her poor body ... since he seems to have nothing but wickedness in him
@@nkemobimI doubt he dragged her... I think he killed her there
Amateurs tromping all over the scene of a potential homicide
In baltimore police eat slim Jim’s they buy from businesses involved in a crime when they should be investigating said crime and drive through the scene then realize they have ridden over bullet casings… so that is fantastic investigating 🤦♀️
I'm shocked that their personal information like phone numbers aren't edited out of the videos. I'm curious how many nuts have called Matthew Gilbert. Poor guy did what any decent man would do and he's probably being harassed by Internet psychos.
Wow she was way out there!
A boogie~man hiding behind his BADGE. Smooth talker too. May Justice be served. They will take care of him in prison.
Boogie? Smoothe? Do u know the meanings of those words?
This makes me wonder if they teach these rookie cops anything? I mean, this clown doesn't even remember his training supervisor name? 🙄
I was thinking the same thing. If he had to be graded on the information he should have learned in class he would get an F . He didn’t know what NCI stood for& i believe it’s National Crime Information Center (NCIC)🤦🏽♀️
They don't teach! They are unprofessional goons.
Someone forgot to tell him to review his case notes before he testified .
The people that live in this world is scary. I have a 5 year old son who loves speaking/talking to anyone. I had to explain to him you can't do that to anyone. My son loves police officers. I have something new to talk to him about. People protect your children because nobody else will.
Stranger Danger. Roll playing is REALLY important!!! Make it a game, but he needs to be shown how scary it can be! It's how we taught my three Nieces before they went into school.
@@penelopelgoss2520 thank you!

@@tynikagrant6995 Best wishes to you, dear 🥰
Why do lawyers ask stupid questions repeatedly 🥴
To see if people trip up their answers.
In a trial nothing can be left ambiguous. Lawyers have to establish every fact and verify every statement, and witnesses can’t volunteer information.
Give examples of said "stupid questions"
Susana's Case is also on "Law & Crime".
REST IN PEACE, Angel Baby !!
It’s everywhere
Why is he allowed to chew gum in court?
There is no way he carried Susana that far.He had her in his car or rented a car to move her body.More than likely it was dark and he realized he lost his gun and was panicking looking for it and could not find it so took the chance of leaving it there and reporting it stolen.I'm sure the grieving family were not happy with the attitude of the cop giving evidence, unless he is nervous and just smiles cos that is a tick he has.
Or she was alive when he took her there which means that he may have been there before.
He stopped on the side of the road...that's already been established..he either walked her in there at gunpoint or dragged her!
It's NOT a GLOCK 19 mm!! It's a MODEL 18 and 9 - NINE MM. This cop is a bad witness.
Glock19 Gen5 in 9mm Luger. It’s the district attorney who jacked it up and the officer probably didn’t know any better to correct him… much like I’m correcting you…
🤣
Why did he keep grinning? He's weird😢
Probably nerves
Happy Birthday Mathew Gilbert! Just so happens, as i watch this video, it actually is June 10th as you told the police officers was your birthday, while you were showing them where the human remains that you found in the woods, were. 🎉
At the same time, my condolences to those who loved Susana, God rest her soul❤
Why is he smirking
Nerves
He is nervous and inexperienced.
@@rmac5395nah. It's typical pig behavior.
He’s stupid. That’s why. He has no sense of the seriousness of all this.
I'm so glad all the commenters are so well versed on how to testify and behave at a crime scene. I had no idea there were so many arm chair detectives and professional witnesses.
And now you know, Kathy 😅😚😏🤗
Only showing prosecutor's side, where's the rest of the trial?..
The defense 'presents their defense' once the prosecution rest. The burden of proof is on the prosecutors, so they mostly take up more time, but the defense will have an opportunity to present their case, when the prosecution rest. Probably next week.
Damn, did he carry her back there that was a pretty far walk
Maybe he had her at gun point, struggling, killed her, and he dropped the gun there. You know she had to be scared.
This cop doesn't seem to be the brightest bulb in the pack.
I agree with you!!
😂
He is a rookie who is still under going training.
That poor man that found the body has death surrounding him. At the time his mom and dad are both sick and his father in law had just been buried when he discovered the body of the young lady. That's so much to deal with but so glad someone found her and helped get justice for her.
Sometimes chewing gum helps anxiexty
I used to chew gum or drink 1/3 can of coca-cola before I had to present projects. I had bad nerves and it helped.
@@calelastyles825 I can relate😊
It looks so unprofessional. It’s rude and disrespectful.
If you suffer anxiety maybe police work isn't suitable for you! Everybody today either suffers anxiety or mental issues. FFS!!!! Excuses.
@@karenrhodes9973 I feel like it can feel like a lot of pressure. If you’re true and for the law and a “good person” I’d feel the pressure of wanting to say all the facts of what I could remember to get the right perp and for them to pay for their crimes. Especially if you’re a newbie.. but idk.. this is not my profession nor have I ever had to testify in court.. lmao
Unserious cops or what ? 🤔
nervous maybe? doesn't look good, but I dunno how I would do under the circumstances either
Chewing gum on the stand? Professionalism is at an all time low. It’s also vey irresponsible for the cameras to knowingly have the wrong time! This is why killers are comfortable hiding behind the badge.
OK, I’m trying to give this officer the benefit of the doubt but I give up he’s coming acrossg as cavalier. If not cocky. He doesn’t know his supervisors name he doesn’t remember the maker model number of the car . He doesn’t know who relieved him. He doesn’t know what type of gun was found. He has to go back the following day for the gun. I mean it’s just absurd doesn’t know what the next county over is. He’s chomping on gum and he’s smiling as if it’s Christmas morning. What the heck.
Also who would forget that a gun at a crime scene is registered to a COP!?
Can’t tell what NCIC is.
Is he chewing gum on the stand? Hopefully he's no longer a Gwinnett officer.
It is Gwinnett County
@@surpriseimblackthey said nothing wrong
@jamiyabennett4503 maybe they meant like, 'Well, it IS Gwinnett County' 💁♀️
call up Judge Judy
For chewing gum?
Disconnected just part of there Job saddd😢
And how and why is the gun so pristine clean when it has been laying on the ground in the woods for months through rain and everything else?
based on those woods i think the killer dropped his gun and could not see it because it was probably too dark
( shout-out to the gun that sealed the deal)
well in my opinion, his smirking often and chewing gum is very disrespectful
so what was that guy doing out there in the middle of the woods anyway?
My dad always walked in the woods. He found it relaxing and calming for him. Maybe this guy is the same.
Facts in the woods on the side of the highway
@@HeadroApe8 because he can
Creepy weirdo man stuff if you are a woman you would not understand
Does nobody remember the goy who found caylee Anthony? He found her 2x. First time was soon after she disappeared but the cop didn't want to go in the woods because of the mud. It became swampy and that's why they couldn't determine cause of death.if the cop went out the first time Casey would be in jail
What was the man who reported finding the human remains doing in the woods?
He frequently had/ and still does go off roading in the area
That’s why he has that small Suzuki Samari, to do some off road experience. Is that a public park? Private land?
seems odd, and officers should have questioned him a bit more
Believe it or not, some people actually put their screens down and go hiking in the woods.
Happy birthday!! Today is my dad birthday! What an earth Angel he is to find that sweet baby girl. She’s present with the Lord now.
He needs to shake his head his memory is bad!
Is he an officer or ex officer? Thumb nail unsure!
Is he the killer?
Thank you for explaining!
No the killer is an ex cop. This witness is the cop who was dispatched to the remains
@@fredvpno. The killer was a cop though
He was a cop when he killed her but they fired him after to distance him from the department saying he is an ex cop.
Wow! What are the chances in all of that wooded area that he would happen upon her body? Ladies, this is what is meant by our guardian angels, they were guiding and leading this man directly to her!
Why is the Audio like it's all underwater?
Court proceedings are mostly open to the public. They won’t mute on live court proceedings
Anybody should have told him not to chew around while being there.
Why didn't they censor his DOB and phone number...?
The crazy thing is myles Bryant probably SA that little girl too like he's a disgusting piece of crap I seen a video of this disgusting cop arresting another guy foe stalking the girl who had called the cops snd he was saying how wrong they were for doing that and how horrible it is and he understood how terrified the girl was that was being stalked was and she shouldn't have to feel that way ....and the entire time he was stalking women and had kidnapped and killed a 16 year old girl probably SA her as well also broke into the one girl's apartment it's just sickening dude seriously sickening
He could just be taking a walk, poor Guy he already had a lot going on, I myself when I have a lot going on I tend to go for hikes and go for walks by myself at the park or at near by trails bc it distracts me, I don’t drink or smoke or kill people to get over my problems I like to take the natural and healthy and relaxing way and take walks and journal and just take time by myself and nature it’s nothing bad or to be suspicious about if people just listen and just pay attention about details and know about sympathy for others as well.
He was riding his ATV through the woods whenever he found the remains. Not hiking.
Had miles not dropped that gun,he would have gotten away with Susana's Murder..
That bastard held her hostage with the gun and most likely forced her into the woods. She is probably the one who broke the mirror and damaged his truck trying to get away smh. I hope he doesn’t last a week in the penitentiary
He wont
He was deep in those woods. My goodness
Every firearm bought/sold must have a serial number. However it's legal to make your own not for sale or transfer.
Why is the man walking all around the protected area
Why do people, even allegedly educated people such as this prosecutor, using "whenever" when he really means "when." This implies that the officer had been to that same scene multiple times, when in fact, it was is first time there. This form of grammatical slaughter drives me nuts.

Why does that cop keep laughing its annoying
Right down from my brothers house. I drive by there constantly
why he keep laughing while testifying ?
Maybe its nerves but why does he keep smiling this is a very serious case
This doesn t know much
Dude is smiling way too much
Do we know the motive? And did the perp know the victim?
Today is my birthday also🎉
The perp more than likely knew of Susana bc he was the safety officer for the apartment that the victim would visit her friend at-but not a personal relationship
This guy has the creepiest grin!!
I vaguely remember this guy. Is he the one that reported his service weapon stolen?
I saw the Susana Morales case on The First 48 about a month or so ago so when I saw these videos on TH-cam I was like whoa, I've seen this story on tv. The authorities in this case did a great job of piecing everything together and finding the killer, Miles Bryant. So glad he's been found guilty so Susana's soul can be at peace.
nothing short of a miracle finding this poor girl remains no wonder he couldn't find his gun probably was pitch black outside in those woods..
Do attorneys not make enough money to get decent haircuts? that guy looks pretty scruffy.
He probably "chooses" that hair style, so....
The prosecutor will prob get a haircut after he sees himself on video, too.
Probably he likes having longer hair, but doesn't keep it too long for professional purposes.
You've got nothing to worry about, he's not gonna ask you out anytime soon.
Or maybe they just really busy prepping cases and are not really giving a s*** about their hair
All of the cops and detectives have looked like drug users
I cant stop thinking of that poor girl, walking that distance with that predator probably behind her tormenting her😢. I hope he has nightmares every night.
This fool is chewing gum 😒
Pet hate of mine 😊
Why is he oddly smiling frequently so much, weird and awkwardly strange?! I am very disturbed by his insincere behavior and inability to be professional or serious!! He acts like this is an amusing incident or walk in the park!! His tone and laughing reactions are appalling, Grrrr...
I can guarantee… in the future with more experience, his eyes will see more horrific things and you won’t see immaturity behind his eyes. Understand what you are seeking.
-Nurse (2 decades) and a veteran (for those who wonder my qualifications)
Nope. Nope. Nope. He’s a careless cavalier goof of a cop.
I wanted to know if there were any other fingerprints on the gun besides that of the owner.
The gun was lying on the ground for 7 months. I'm sure the sun wouldv'e evaporated any oils from people's fingers that may have been on the gun and the rain would've cleaned off the rest.
