So beautiful. When I was younger I never understood the appeal of grandmas classic home but really it ends up being so timeless. If nothing changed in this home for the next 30 years I expect it will still feel the same, in a good way
This is precisely what I imagine when I think of an English country house. Charm, warmth, comfort; nothing too fussy or pretentious-just a lovely, homely home.

Heartachingly lovely, a little piece of heaven on Earth. Thank you Louise for being so generous as to share your home with all of us nosey parkers out here! Loved every square inch of your property, you did a magnificent job and ought to be very proud of what you achieved indeed. I look for historic country homes on real estate websites, my heart skipping a beat when I come across ones like yours-- but then am instantly crestfallen to see how unsympathetically so many of these country houses and cottages have been restored. I've felt like weeping dramatically a handful of times to see what these beautiful homes have had done to them internally. Nobody gives credit to people who care about architectural history and want to return these homes to former glory, restoring a property with sympathy, historical integrity and a sense of erudition and intelligence. Most of them get mauled, sorry, 'modernised'. It's absolutely ghastly. Hats off to you and what you've done here.
@@helenkane8594 We must be kindred spirits Helen. I bet you're such fun to go to flea markets with-- although the downside is that we'd both want to buy the same things, ha!
😊 indeed kindred spirits and I definitely like flea markets.ive watched this video a couple of times, it's so well done, filming, the decoration, keeping original elements, the kitchen created with actual different pieces of furniture instead of a one piece wrap is all so great. There is one grey blue chair in the house I wish I knew the fabric, it's got the pattern in a lighter shade, it's beautiful.
I didn’t want this video to end! Delightful 😊 I can’t decide whether I loved the garden or the house more! I’m also inspired to have two deckchairs and a frilly parasol in my own garden 🪴 🌿🌸
Lovely, comfortable house with a kitchen that is made for cooking and spending time in rather than shiny, cold room for show, because nobody cooks in it. I love the bathroom as I like cozy bathrooms that look like rooms.
The colours are so unusual and the overall effect for me was relaxed and informal, despite the age and intricacy of so many of the objects and patterns. Really lovely. Thank you for sharing this with us all.
i would love to see this home displayed in the evening with the lights etc. perhaps H and G will do something like that in the future? that garden is beyond breathtaking
Stunning home - love the east facing green dining room, particularly and the gloriously tastefully timeless kitchen. Fabulous to see the horses in the garden.
Colour sense and sensibility for DAYYYYSSSSSS ❤ A pop here, a mute there, a tone on tone, a bold statement in the bathroom, and then the garden. If design was a piece of music 🎶 this would be a piece I'd want to here.❤ Thanks for letting us in.
What a delightful home. It’s lovely to see so many items that have meaning to the owner rather than have being chosen to be in fashion or on trend as they say. A video I shall watch several times.
I really enjoyed this video. It was overdue. Beautiful home. I needed a dose of an English country house. I loooove the couch. Felicity Jacobs, Cape Town, South Africa
The house we lived in when my father was stationed in Essex was built in 1432 out of ships timbers. I’ve love old housed ever since. My husband and I live in a 1793 farm house in USA and bought a tower in Lazio area Italy built in 799. Probably the oldest we’ll live in permanently. We love old.
I adore this home! Your choices in the bedroom to take the most advantage of the fantastic Tudor wall painting are wonderful! I also have a dark dining room that's at the center of the house, and it makes for a unique atmosphere. I like the wallpaper in the bathroom, especially as it's broken up with the beams. How fun to have your horses grazing in the garden while you relax. It looks like a charmed life, and a great place to escape the bustle of the city.
Very inviting and warm home. I especially love how the kitchen came together, I do not care for fitted kitchens and this kitchen couldn't explain better why. Never saw a sink set-up like that, great idea.
Its' amazing bouquets! 💐🌿 That are making this interior more cozy. I like these vases, the mural in the bedroom, floral textile, pictures on the walls. 💙 Stunning interior!
This is what I have tried to create in my somewhat more modern home. It feels like when you come home your house gives you a big hug❣️ I hate clean lines and minimalism, I want to be surrounded by all the things I love❤️ This house is absolutely beautiful.
Love her! Beautiful home and style and I loved it when she said "I am more of a magpie" and "I know what I like". I absolutely identify with those statements and this woman and her beautiful style. Wish I knew her to come experience this property in person.
So lovely to have a good picking garden to give the interiors a sense of the outdoors. I am a big fan of lots of flowers indoors. I presume that you have ‘help’ in this house, I couldnt imagine having to do the vacuuming - I’d probably just escape to the garden….
Truly special. A house from the 1500's! Don't see that, everyday. I wonder the ceiling height, ground level. Is very low, as things were. The sofa ... love it and looks ultra comfy! Thanks for featuring.
And the dining room! It must look so stunning at Christmas time, lit up at night. I was watching one of those 'Country House Rescue' programs many years ago when a blowhard 'expert' waltzed into a grand home a couple had inherited and were struggling with renovating and redecorating and pronounced pompously that 'you NEVER EVER paint the walls of a dining room green, it's a big no-no, everybody knows this blah blah, it makes food look unappetising, it reflects on guest's faces and creates the illusion of a sickly pallor'... She went on and on. I've lost count of the amount of stately homes, cottages and country manors which I've seen with beautiful green walls so I wince at the recollection of this Know-it-All rambling on in that offputtingly arrogant (and ultimately incorrect) way. So much for being an 'expert' hey?
Lurcher, a new word! A lurcher is a crossbred dog resulting from mating a greyhound or other sighthound with a dog of another type such as a herding dog or a terrier. The lurcher was for hundreds of years strongly associated with poaching; in modern times, it is kept as a hunting dog or companion dog.
Loved it all - just my style (except for Portugese tile in a British Kitchen). Do you like reno youtubes - if you haven't seen "Escape to the Dream" - a British family in France restoring a 1720's small chateau with out buildings and they are very much do it yourselfers. I much prefer English decor to French but they are well worth the watch - the videos begin about 2020. It's hard not to cheer them on - such accomplishments --- but it does get down and dirty as the building had been abandoned over 40 years.

One of the loveliest homes featured - historic, warm and functional. Absolutely love love!

That’s a perfectly charming home and I love the way she has preserved the original features. Well done!

every corner is cozier than the next! love the modular approach to the kitchen and over use of furniture. what an intimate feel
What a stunning and timeless home. So cosy and yet stylish. What a great eye you have
Stunning home - love the east facing green dining room, particularly and the gloriously tastefully timeless kitchen. Fabulous to see the horses in the garden.
Tasteful and cozy! I really would like to spend a few days there, enjoying the garden with it's flowers in the day and a fire in the evening!
Love it! Very beautiful and "organic". She has great taste. A real home. ❤

Stunning English country house with all the flowers, dogs and horses. Almost like being in heaven. Love it ❤!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🌱🌱🌱🙏🙏🙏🙏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏Praha
I was born with a very old soul so the "grandma" look took hold of me in my childhood. Never felt apologetic about it.
Both loveable and livable! Almost a dream.

Most beautiful home! Does anyone know who makes the gorgeous pink sofa?
So sad they have to move. Hopefully their next home will bring them even more joy.

You should do a video featuring Ted Dwane and Milli Proust’s cottage.
There's no cozier Home Decor like the British Country Style.
Delicious...
