  • More control, more entertainment, more help comes with every part of the day on the second generation Nest Hub from Google.
📺Effortlessly enjoy all your entertainment. Catch up on your favorite shows, watch TH-cam videos, and listen to music on the new Nest Hub's enhanced speaker. See what's playing right on the display and play and pause your content with a tap, quick gesture, or "Hey Google."
🏠Whole-home control. Turn on the lights, lock the doors, change the temperature all with a tap. The new Nest Hub works with thousands of compatible devices so you can even see who’s at the front without having to be there. Just say, “Hey Google, show me the front door camera.”
🏃‍♂️Busy days call for easy coordination. You’ll find all the info you need on your display from your calendar to reminders so you can see everything you need to stay on track with just a glance. Ask for the weather or anything else that you might need with just “Hey Google.”
🍽️When it’s time to bring everyone at home together, make it easy and just say, “Hey Google, broadcast, ‘it’s dinnertime’” and everyone will get the message on their Nest speakers and displays.
🌞Rise and shine. With Sunrise Alarms, you’ll get a gentler-than-ever wake-up as the display gradually brightens and the alarm clock increases in volume. Combined with Sleep Sensing and Your Evening page, the new Nest Hub will help you wind down easily and wake up more rested. Try a free preview for Sleep Sensing: goo.gle/3vw7C15

I have two of these together with the original Max. I also have nine original Apple HomePods, and I run them side-by-side throughout my place. As good as the HomePods are for music, I prefer using the Google Hubs for everything else. Google is more responsive and provides direct answers vs. Siri ‘I found this on the web, and I’ll send it to your iPhone.’

    Hi Team,
    1. Both sleep sensing and gesture controls are not working in India. Let me know if this is only a software update which will get enabled eventually? (In other words, I'm assuming that all the requisite sensors are already installed on this device as this is priced in par with US)
2.When is the ETA for this as it has been more than an year since it launched in India? (I'm surprised because Google mostly tests it's products in India first before rolling it other countries)

Wondering if you could do a video update on everything that Google has changed and removed from this platform. Specifically, these three features, primarily the first two.
01: In their most recent update, Google has removed visual responses on Google Nest Hubs and other home products with screens. For example, if you ask it to spell a word like "dyslexia" after the update, you will only receive a minor title response for three seconds, without a visual large format response lasting for more than 30 seconds. This means you won't see the word "dyslexia" spelled out on the screen anymore. Many dyslexics, including myself, relied on this feature, and it was a significant reason for purchasing this tool, which offered a desktop spelling system with a picture frame and other features.
02: Another change in the recent update is the removal of ethernet support for the 7 and 10-inch models. Previously, there was a micro USB on the white cover of the 7-inch model that allowed you to connect a USB to ethernet adapter. This feature provided a reliable IP address with fast response and eliminated the need to reacquire an IP address. Unfortunately, this capability has been disabled in the latest update.
03: Additionally, Google has removed good quality synchronized audio in their recent update. Previously, if you used ethernet, you could synchronize all your devices, including the Mini and standard Home speakers, without signal drops or random reacquisition issues. However, with the removal of micro USB ethernet support for the 10 and 7-inch models, achieving reliable synchronization has become challenging. Now, you are limited to using Wi-Fi for all devices, which is less secure. As a result, latency has increased, affecting the quality of audio responses. The unit's response is no longer accurate, even when I am in close proximity to the device, while other units further away respond instead, causing confusion.
04: To summarize, Google has removed support for dyslexics, eliminated secure network access via ethernet, and made it difficult or impossible to achieve perfect audio synchronization with zero milliseconds delay. There may be more changes that I haven't discovered yet.
05: So, for me, my 7-inch Google Nest Hub with a screen has now become primarily a picture frame, timer, and a minor home automation visual unit. In fact, since I have a computer in front of me that can perform all of these functions, except for visual spelling and audio synchronization, the practicality of the Nest Hub has significantly diminished.
Feel free to share your thoughts and experiences with these changes in the comments.

No, it's terrible. I bought two Nest Audios to use in paired mode and the audio doesn't sync with the video. There's like a whole second delay, which makes them unusable as surround sound. It would be pretty cool if they could figure out how to fix that, but I'm not holding my breath.

My first gen Nest HUB suddenly stopped working which could be due to a Over the air update, the device shows the google logo, plays the start up chime and then black screen. Display and speakers are working, there is no way to recover or restore. I contacted google support send them a video of whats happening, but as the device is outside warranty nothing can be done. I understand if the hardware fails after use, i will upgrade, but this is not my mistake. I am not sure if i will buy another one, and with that i might actually replace my nest door bell with something else too.
I was planning to get 2 more even before the gen 2 was released - one for living room and one in my office, but this was a horrible experience, what if this one also suddenly stops working right after warranty ? Google should be able to restore bricked devices easily, but they are not.

Hey there, we're here to help. If you're using cameras and doorbells that are controlled by the Nest app, you can condense up to 24 hours of video into a timelapse using the Nest web app on your computer. Dear Google, here is an idea: make a tablet with wireless charging capability and a Nest Hub Stand for it with good speakers. Thus, people will buy your tablets and use them as tablets let's say for watching movies and web surfing. Then when it's needed people could place the tablet on the stand with wireless charging so it switches over to Nest Hub Mode. The camera on the tablet should have a physical blind.
Please contact me so you can pay me for this idea! 😀
