Sparty fan here. Congrats on the monumental victory. There were some important recruits at this game, so maybe this is the start of something good for UM. Enjoy this. It was a long time coming.
Interesting to me as an osu fan to see a game where so much was at stake. When it's Michigan-Ohio State you start out with high stakes, but this one represented: an end to the osu winning streak, a chance to play not just for the league championship but for a national championship, and, on our part, a chance to win the Heisman Trophy, which our q would likely have been the favorite for had we won. It was also a run-first, grind-it-out victory that Bo - and Woody, if only grudgingly - would have appreciated. Having lived through an era of Michigan dominance I know what the day-after feeling is like when a game comes along to break the spell. Congrats.
Thank you for the classy post. This was certainly a long time coming. I really wish that the stakes were exactly the same between these two teams every single year when they meet in late November: B1G East title on the line, possible trip to CFP, etc. Neither fanbase could’ve asked anything more going into the game yesterday.
@Shaan Keole I would love to see what Haskins numbers would have looked like if he did not split runs with Corum. I don't blame Michigan for splitting runs. Any team would have with both those RBs. I think Haskins would be in the Heisman talk if he was our only RB.
Michigan had their best offensive performance in years. If they hadn’t been so good on offense Ohio state would have beaten them by just shredding them with the pass. I’m worried about the next few years hopefully Michigan can work on their DBs.
I was encouraged that the dbs were able to stick to these ridiculous receivers loke they did! And ya they made those catches and plays but truly the coverage as really good. Hands in the face and on the ball , these receivers are just that good. But I feel like our dbs have proved they can cover anyone. May not shut them down , but they can cover . If they can finally learn to look for the ball maybe they could be some ball Hawks!
If Cade hadn't thrown that pick...that final score might have been *extremely* lopsided. But I love how that crucial turnover did NOT set the tone for the remainder of the game. Michigan just wasn't having it.
That and had the wrs for osu not made some unbelievable catches on 3rd and long and 4th downs to keep the chains moving. Many times the drives could have been stopped so credit to them making some spectacular catches to keep it close.
@@justinadam2316 Oh, yeah. Definitely. I mean, I think everyone saw first-hand yesterday that OSU's triumvirate of NFL-talent receivers are legit AF and then some. @@natehenderson4243 Yeah, definitely. We should have continued to keep it on the ground and pound the rock at that point. But that was really Cade’s only big mistake of the entire day, and the team rallied after that so as to not let it hurt them much at all-just a FG drive on their possession.
As a Buckeye, all the respect to you and your win. Loved to see your fans celebrating the win. I am hoping That Team up North can finish it out and win the CFP. Hopes and prayers for you! Go Big Blue!
The thing that impressed me, although they did it a few times in the last few, was that even when McCarthy came into the game they had a great plan for him that wasn’t just option handoffs or plays that didn’t make a ton of sense to have him come in. They had him throw, and he threw a dart on one of those he came in for that was lethally accurate and made a big play. So, it wasn’t just a gimmick, they had kinda sold it as that for most of the season, so on film Ohio probably weren’t prepared for some of that. They didn’t go crazy with trick plays, when they did they made sense. The end around for the touchdown, the flea flicker that resulted in a big play. It didn’t just reek of desperation like in the past, like we couldn’t figure out how to beat them… it felt more like exploiting them, toying with them. That was a good feeling that we were in control. Lastly, I do wanna say, I don’t know what McNamara was seeing on the interception, but there was a man wide open on the left side at the sticks, and would’ve been a smarter play. I think we let a few opportunities slip, we had a chance to demoralize and really put the hammer down on them early and didn’t. In the past that would’ve cost us dearly, this year though they picked each other up. It took until the 2nd half to really start putting them away and capitalizing on every chance we had, but they didn’t collapse after a few miscues and were resilient and that shows a lot. They also didn’t let questionable calls, big plays by OSU, or penalties deflate them. I think there were probably 2 or 3 drops that the refs either declined to overturn or didn’t even look at plus a few missed calls on obvious holds that led to big 3rd and 4th conversions and the offense came onto the field after a big score off one of those for Ohio and stuffed it down their throats. Killer instinct, playing your own game and not worrying about things you can’t control, and putting away a dangerous opponent were all on display and made me proud of the growth of this team.
Great take here. The impressive thing thing is when mccarthy came in his arm was cold and he still floated a perfect pass over the fingertips of the osu defender. Funny thing about the reverse for the first TD, go back to 2019 and it’s pretty much the same play they scored on their opening drive then as well. I did not get excited when they scored first on Saturday. I can’t tell you how many times they came out on fire only to fizzle out and start to get destroyed when osu had the ball. I knew they would get points this game but I was really concerned about the defense. The only time I was mad during this game was that interception. They had so much momentum and had a big first down pass and I felt they got greedy and forced that pass when it was absolutely unnecessary. They were running the ball great early and I was like “here we go again” osu was reeling and unforced error gave them life, and it did because they scored 10 straight points. In years past they would have panicked and fell apart. This time they didn’t. They were tough as nails like we’re so used to seeing from Ohio. The role reversal was amazing to watch this year and it’s going to be interesting how they look next weekend. This is uncharted waters. They’re finally going to Indy.
Iowa will be super tough. Well coached, disciplined tough. Michigan will lose unless the Wolverines bring their focused A game . UM must earn the BT championship.
Iowa has no offense....Michigan is far too balanced now and superior in every phase of the game, but above all they are getting more and more mentally focused, resilient and error free.
I’m going to trust that Harbaugh knows fully what Iowa is capable of. Get them boys ready. The game in Indy will be bigger than this past game. If they don’t feel that way then Iowa is capable to taking full advantage. I’ve seen it happen too many times.
Haven't watched Iowa play this year huh? They have been exposed by teams better than them. No turnovers and run the ball down their throats and all will be good.

Ohio State's last few recruiting cycles have not produced much on the defensive line. The guys from the 2018 & 2019 recruiting classes that either graduate or leave early won't be missed much. I don't think it's a scheme problem. They're running a pretty standard two deep zone, just like Michigan. What was missing is heart, and you can't teach that. Either you have it, or you don't. Zach Harrison has to be one of the biggest flame outs of a 5-star recruit that I've seen. I know he's just a junior, and he'll probably come back, but he's a non-factor 90% of the time. Ohio State didn't have one true stud on that defensive line. Michigan had two. I can only hope that the guys Ohio State has recruited in 2020 & 2021 learn from Hutchinson & Ojabo about competitiveness and heart.
The only glaring mistake I saw (as a fan at the game, not with the benefit of zoomed cameras and replay) outside Cade’s INT was (was it Ojabo or Jeter?) when the DE realized he was matched up in man coverage with their RB. That should have been an immediate timeout. You had 3. It’s the first half. Just call the TO and get a different D called. Their QB OBVIOUSLY saw this and went right to him for like 20 yards.
We shouldn't sleep on Iowa. remember when they torpedoed our season in 2016? Michigan cannot let beating OSU cloud their preparation. Iowa will come to play, will have a chip on their shoulder.
I agree 100% Iowa also beat Michigan in 2011. In both games Michigan was the better team but they fell asleep. I think as long as Michigan plays the way they did yesterday they will be fine but they need to keep this momentum going.
The last time i saw Michigan's offense absolutely dominate Ohio State was back in 2006, (the infamous #1 vs #2 game), where we were able to move the ball down the field with ease, but of course we ended up barely losing that game. That year and 2003 were imo the two best all-around teams in Michigan history, despite the fact that we greatly underachieved in certain games. This game though is really the first time i have seen the old-fashioned run 1st, 2nd, and 3rd style offense - actually succede for Michigan against an top-tier program like Ohio State, since the 90's. Yes Im astatic that we won the game and to do so in such a dominant fashion, but the fact is our offense still needs to pass the ball more often on a more consistent basis going forward, that is if we want to be a consistent championship contender the way we were back when Carr was still coach. And frankly im worried that this game will be used to justify being extremely conservative and run-focused going into the future. I mean hell, back when Carr was coach we had Grbac, Collins, Griese, Brady, Henson, Navarre, and Henne, along with phenomenal WR's from Alexander, to Toomer, Streets, Terrell, Edwards, Avant, Breaston, Arrington, to Manningham, and yet one of the biggest criticisms back then was that the offense, (despite putting up decent passing/receiving numbers), was still a bit too conservative and didn't quite throw the ball enough to take full advantage of the studs we had on the outside. In spite of that fact tho, those teams still managed to put up WAY more passing attempts, completions, passing/receiving yards, and passing/recieving TD's than we have even since Harbaugh's been here. And that includes since we brought in Gattis, who was supposed to bring in more creativity and a more pass-centric offensive scheme, (or at least far more so than what Harbaugh had been doing up to that point). Thinking back to that time when Carr was still the coach, I would have been utterly shocked that in the future I'd ever be yearning for an offense that would go back to throwing it at least as much as Carr's teams did. The idea that there would be an offensive sceme that could somehow be even more conservative is simply mind-blowing. Since Harbaugh's been here we've had massive talent at QB and at WR, and literally every year they seem to get consistently underutilized, or equally as often - we've had such poor pass-blocking that the young QB talent would be thrown to the wolves. Now this years been different than all the others, this year our team has shown to be pretty damn good at not just run-blocking, but pass-blocking too. So when you combine that with a QB who has played consistent and has demonstrated he can be a big-time passer - all year, we most certainly should be throwing more this year than we have. M'Cnamara has shown that he can be a great passing QB all year, and targets like Johnson, Wilson, Sainristil, and the phenomenal Eric All have consistently proven they could be big-time receivers if given a chance. Im well aware that we have some great RB's in Haskins and Corum, but those teams under Carr had Heisman nominees and finalists at RB like Wheatley, Biakabatuka, A-Train, Perry, and Mike Hart - who are frankly, all much better backs than either Haskins or Corum are and yet we still managed to throw more often back then. Anyways...
Here's an honest question because of the reasons you mentioned for what Harbaugh did with his contract and bet on himself shouldn't he be in the Convo for coach of the yr?
One of the deepest comment I’ve heard after this victory was when Harbaugh said something along the lines that somebody was born on third base and falsely believes he hit a triple. Edited in here: I posted this comment before I heard Ryan say anything about it
HOLY well-spoken! Can we get Ryan Van Bergen on the Big 10 Network?! If only he had a better mic and headphone situation! lol. Loved this video. TY! #GoBlue
Moten missed the TO. The defense will be different next year not because Hutchinson and possibly Ojabo are gone. But their defensive line is going to be bigger next season. MacDonald wants to have 3 good size lineman about 275-280+ pounds. Then he can adjust to have sometimes 4 or 3 and even 2. Allows him to adjust in the secondary and linebackers.
@@billkramer2994 He wants them to bulk up no doubt but he wants athletic players along the front. Benny, Rooks and Iwunnah were the first. Now Grant, Graham and ideally Walker as the next set. He wants big buys across the front to allow multiple looks 2 rush ends or 3 space eaters. He wants flexibility. This will make the defense unpredictable which is what you need.
There better be some damn statues of Haskins and Hutchinson outside of the big house after yesterday. And that O line should never have to pay for a beer in Ann Arbor again.
Every Michigan Athletic Director should insist on paying coaches by performance and added bonuses with rival game.. Make an offer where if they win it all, they can get double of Sabans salary and if they don't win the Big, they get half of Sabans salary.
In fairness I don’t think Ohio State has had to play against a Michigan offensive line like that in a long time. Even as a Michigan fan watching them all season I am blown away with how good their blocking was, their O line was 100% perfect the whole game.

So enjoy this one Michigan fans next year you go to the shoe and the Buckeyes defense will be far better 👍.
Stop ✋️ saying OSU didn't he there best game, because you are taking credit away from Michigan. When OSU wins they never say Michigan did have there best game. Michigan flat out DOMINATED THEM and was MORE PHYSICAL. There DEFENSE WAS DISRUPTIVE and that is why OSU was out of sorts at times. Their QB and receivers still had a great game.. Michigan had a huge turnover and still dominated. WHAT GAME WERE YOU WATCHING to say OSU didn't play there best game????
We witnessed the Ohio State dominance end yesterday. Urban Meyer had them at levels they were never at before and I doubt they will ever get to again without a Hall of Fame coach. That was a physical beating.
@@johnbarker183 first of all I'm not a we when comes to Michigan football. Sounds like you're a little too emotional about things. This wasn't just yesterday's loss this was the loss to Oregon as well. The bottom line is Ohio State had went to levels they had never been before when they were under Urban Meyer. They have clearly went backwards. Even a couple of their wins this year were not up to their past standards. anyways the point is that was a compliment towards Urban as he took them to levels that the wolverines could never get too. He also added a certain toughness to them which is completely gone now. It's a fact that Day is a finesse coach and we're seeing that more and more as they were physically dominated at levels I never seen once when Meyer was there from teams that they were supposed to beat. We seen the same thing against Oregon earlier this year. Go ahead try to lie to yourself all you want but the evidence is there. How about actually trying to dispute what I'm saying instead of calling people names and sounding like a fifth grader
Harbaugh's right, to an extent. Day seems to be the real deal (at least on offense), but it's awfully easy to win when you inherit a team developed, coached up, and made into a dynasty by Urban (and by Tressel before him). I think he's good, but time will tell.
i apologize but.... if UM plays the way they have iowa has NO shot. iowa won several games from getting 4 or 5 turnovers. that is unheard of. take away 3 turnovers per game iowa loses 5 or 6 games this yr. UM will not turn it over 5 times.
1. Georgia 2. Michigan 3. Alabama 4. Cincinnati If we win out, we will stay at 2. If Oklahoma State wins their championship, I would put them over Cinci. Alabama will prob be the first two loss team to make the playoff, thanks to ESPN bias, if they win, they will def be in.
"This was no fluke. Michigan beats Ohio State for the first time in 10 years." Uh, that's pretty much the definition of a fluke. You won't see this for another 10 years. What are these guys talking about that the game was not as close as the score. Total yards were almost even 489-468 for offense. Michigan is making too big a deal of one win. There's no reason to believe Ohio State won't continue to dominate this series. Its one win in 10 years.
This will be the start of another 10 yr drought. You beat one of the youngest teams in the nation lol. Day will revenge this loss just like Clemson. GO BUCKS.

Anyways...
I am sure that growing up inside the program makes Coach feels like the rest of us who grew up in the area, it is a cult.
#congratulations

Here's an honest question because of the reasons you mentioned for what Harbaugh did with his contract and bet on himself shouldn't he be in the Convo for coach of the yr?
Too early to make that call. He has to win in Indianapolis. If Michigan wins the Big 10 then yes, absolutely.
@@mroberts566 Definitely should be in the conversation along with Kirby Smart and Luke Fickell. All have done a great job.
TY! #GoBlue
Woke up and realized this wasn’t a dream! Man this victory Sunday is amazing even if it doesn’t want to quit snowing lol
Hail to the Victors
This was so awesome GO BLUE 1 THANKS FOR THE CHRISTMAS PRESENT YAAAAAAA
Now beat Iowa
Nothing else to say but except it was a totally awesome game
Why does everyone forget that JJ threw a td pass against msu? And keep writing this narrative that he played bad. Only one fumble was costly
When you have a defense that stands around and doesn't put in 100% then you DO NOT have a top ten team. Ohio St. blew it on defense big time .
In fairness I don’t think Ohio State has had to play against a Michigan offensive line like that in a long time. Even as a Michigan fan watching them all season I am blown away with how good their blocking was, their O line was 100% perfect the whole game.
@@dbcooper6447 True , but dang dude , everybody talks about how ohio state is an elite team and I just didn't see it on defense. They looked slow as heck but then again Michigan was on point on every drive . GO BLUE !!!!
@@philipalvarez2561 Michigan has the potential to be elite and they have underperformed for the last few years. I truly think their 2016 team was better than Ohio State and the game came down to a close call. I don’t even think Ohio State was that bad yesterday other than penalties, Michigan just made them look bad because the Maize and Blue were perfect.
Bro said Rudy was offsides 😹😹😹😭😭😭
As a Buckeye fan we have to wear this lost! It hurts because this isn’t the norm for us! But it happened and congrats to ❌ichigan for winning The game…. I will say the third base comment will not go unnoticed and we will be happy to see you guys next year in Columbus! As for now enjoy it. You guys truly deserve it!

In my Era it’s the norm for y’all.. pride comes before the fall!!! Don Brown is not the DC anymore Go Blue
That's a good show of sportsmanship. 👍 I hope Buckeyes will do well in their bowl game and make Big10 proud.
Just like the "we will score 100 pts on Michigan", that R. Day proclaimed didn't go unnoticed? That will never happen. How obsurd and arrogant of a Coach who only inherited a winning program.
@@derrickford3543 Don't get mad, get even, and take the high road. There's no better revenge than winning. So, keep winning. That's all.
Go Blue !
Enjoy it tonight. Come Monday practice, time to defeat Iowa!
Good better best never let it rest go rocks
Rumbling humble Haskins !!!
# THE LOSING STREAK IS OVER CONGRATULATIONS BIG 🔵 ! JIM HARBAUGH AND HIS COACHING STAFF ! Watch how Oregon ducks beat the buckeyes what the wolverines did with Hassan Haskins and the wolverines offensive line just simply beat down the buckeyes defense and Aiden Hutchison and that wolverine defense played so well they deserve the win !
Congrats to Michigan, but I honestly think all they did is wake up Ryan Day and the rest of the coaches at Ohio State I don't think Michael will win to In a row, I think it'll be another 8 - 10 years of dominance by the Buckeyes.
I wanted Creyer to stay so he could get his beatings too. Carr owned Creyer. But he is taking his medicine in the NFL and won't be there for long.
Lol, you guys win a game and start running off at the mouth. Enjoy this victory skunkweasles, see you in Columbus next year
@@johnbarker183 first of all I'm not a we when comes to Michigan football.
OSU is always good. I just hope we can win them like this every once in awhile........not 2 decades.
Go Hawkeyes !
ND Sucks 😂
If you guys lose to Iowa I'm going to be pissed.
Michigan should be #2.. Bama struggled against unranked Auburn and Cincinnati is a joke
1. Georgia
2. Michigan
3. Alabama
4. Cincinnati
If we win out, we will stay at 2. If Oklahoma State wins their championship, I would put them over Cinci. Alabama will prob be the first two loss team to make the playoff, thanks to ESPN bias, if they win, they will def be in.
Beat the ducks
"This was no fluke. Michigan beats Ohio State for the first time in 10 years." Uh, that's pretty much the definition of a fluke. You won't see this for another 10 years. What are these guys talking about that the game was not as close as the score. Total yards were almost even 489-468 for offense. Michigan is making too big a deal of one win. There's no reason to believe Ohio State won't continue to dominate this series. Its one win in 10 years.
This will be the start of another 10 yr drought. You beat one of the youngest teams in the nation lol. Day will revenge this loss just like Clemson. GO BUCKS.
POUND SAND

Well they are going to have to get used to getting their ass kicked...GO Blue.
