Has anyone had the idea to make a Nextbot that _runs away_ from the player, dying instantly if the player touches them? It would be a nice change of pace with the role reversal that could lead to some fun.

Would be more scary if you said “no MERE barricades can hold them”. But it makes sense that you didn’t cause that would sound evil but you didn’t do any wrong or harm, especially to the nextbots.

Probably reversing the pathfinding code so it wanders away from the player could work.
