You know she knows how to do it right when she pulled out the Klein Crimpers with the Red&Black handles that have the proper crimper for insulated heat shrink butt connectors. She has the right stuff for the job. Sally rocks!
I heat shrink over the butt connector regardless of the "heatshrink butt connectors". A little extra step for a failproof wire job. I also double over the wire that I crimp for small gauge jobs like that.
I would recommend soldering vs butt connectors, especially since you spent so much time making the car look so good, soldering those cables will make the internals look good as well.

On something like that dash we're I'd never want to mess with it again or take dash apart to fix wire that came undone in stupid connector. I would of hand soldered each wire and used a short piece of heat shrink on each wire then a larger diameter piece of heat shrink to cover all the smaller individual wires. 👌I would want to burn the car down if a year later I had to get back In there and fix a stupid wire
