This is a lovely simple song, great when you’re stomping around
In this version, nightingales and woods have replaced the crawfish and mountains.
Many songs that reference nightingales are frankly a bit sappy. This one is not!
In the UK they sing chiefly from the end of April until early June. This song appeals to me because birds in the wild, enchanting as they may sound to our ears, are in a matter of fact way getting on with their business of marking out territory and trying to impress a mate. Much like the male character in the song is doing….
The song can be sung by one person, but it also works well sung as a round

Small correction to the score - there’s a few ornaments -twiddly bits, or mordents in the vocal and I’ve put that on the score. I’ve marked them as regular mordents, the ones that go down then up. They should be inverted mordents - where the note goes up then down. Sigh…

How do you record the video and Audio together Ru? Video editing software.complicated?

Hi Dan,
This recording couldn’t be simpler. Single button press go. No editing of any type. It was sung directly into the iPad’s built-in mic, so everything together on one track. It’s good enough for this kind of recording if you are close to the camera.
When I use the external Ear Trumpet Louise mic ( fabulous mic, but not cheap), this is wired directly into the iPad via an interface so again one button, one track.
I’ve recently bought a decent stand alone Sony camera , hoping to get to grips with that over the summer….

@@RuaridhDs thanks Ru good to hear. I’ve been using iPad condenser mic and interface ok but can’t get video on iPad to work at the same time as garage band , will persevere, maybe ready to put something on too , and also well out of comfort zone . Worth a giggle though.
