Here you have an extremely large breed of dog , that's being over fed , probably not exercised nearly enough, isn't being groomed on a day to day basis, the dogs only being groomed now because of 1 certain word ... FREE otherwise I can guarantee that dog would not be being groomed , they aren't caring for the dog , they can't even give the dog the correct diet , a dog this size over weight it's damaging her joints massively , why is that fair ?. What part of you thinks that this owner is going to take on any advice from her
This woman is deplorable! She neglects the dog and then doesn’t want her to look funny to correct the problem she created. Some people have no business owning dogs! I would have asked the client how she proposed to get the mats out. Even by her own admission this poor dogs constantly has mats that her husband cuts out. Buy a freaking brush and comb and take care of your dog!

It would help for you to be more calm,less anxiety,be more gentle and easy as the dogs pick up on your emotions ,mood and non verbal and they will misbehave due to that .

I had an owner like this once. I would not groom her dog after she put bruises all over her dog trying to brush mats them out. This is cruel. I see the matts and as a groomer, this person should not own this dog. she is inhumane and cruel to her dog by refusing to have the matting taken out and, these are so bad no one could brush it out under the circumstances. Also, it can cause skin issues, pulling on the skin the way it is. I hope you fired this crazy horrible neglectful owner. She is also an idiot. She is looking at pelted mats asking you to brush it. She acts as if you can magically fix it when she has neglected this dog. She obv. did not care about her dog or it's looks of not being groomed for over a month and now she cares so fully putting her dog in pain from the hair pulling against the skin. This is a crazy lady. You do not need a customer like this. You did the right thing to call it because she would never had been happy with the groom and, the dog is not able to be on the grooming table. Also, I would not mention the daycare. You see how this lady is dificult. They probably try to pacify her because the least they can do is watch the dog for her. She is a real gem. That sink and table are Way too small for a large dog. If she knew the dog had recent hip surgery, she never should have agreed to groom him. Pulling on him with the brushing was probably painful. If she uses that small mobile van, then she should only work on small dogs. Doesn’t that just make more sense?
I would have just taken my chunkers through the matted areas after drying everything. Its not rinsed out very well, but I realized you ran out of water. You could have probably asked the owner to refill your tank so you could get all the soap and conditioner out. Leaving it in could lead to itching and worse matting. All of this said, I would never have done this for free. It's absolutely crazy to put that much work into a dog for free. I know you get revenue from youtube videos. Even still, that's a LOT of work. I commend you for doing as much as you did.
You can hear that the dog is in pain every time she makes her stand, especially when she put her hand under the hip and jerked her up, ouch, it's heartbreaking. I understand stand and appreciate what MB is trying to do with these free grooms, but she needs to learn to say no and tell the rotten owners explicitly why she won't do it, that would have saved a lot of unnecessary frustration for her and pain for the dog. So sad they let this beautiful dog get in this condition.

So many factors to the frustration in this video not only is the owner a terrible owner for the neglect. But, being in such a small space with a overweight dog the humidity, the dog not cooperating, you being soaked from head to toe etc again the owner not wanting to do what’s best for the dog you being upset that the owners is neglecting the dog it was just so much going on and I’m so sad that the cut could not be finished and I really hope that this owner was able to be convinced to shave that dog down to where the dog could have no mats and be advised that dog needed to lose some weight as well. That groomer should be banned. Constantly yanking the leash around its neck to get it to stand, hard core brushing matting when it should have been shaved..That dog cried, yelped, and shrieked for help. She cared more about her camera and bithched about her back hurting at one hour.

I know this is an old video. But I remember watching it when you first posted it and feeling really frustrated with you. Watching it again I realize you actually did a lot for this dog. You got most of her undercoat out and got her super clean. Had you been allowed to shave just the matted hair she would have been perfectly done. Some people have no business owning high maintenance dogs.
I did a Bernese last week that was in this mess. I brushed first, next time I will condition first, it was sooooo much work. high velocity after brushing and dirt went all over the place. took me and my husband 4 hours to do. it turned me off of doing another dog in this condition. I never thought to condition first before dry brushing.

And that dog daycare doesn't just have one dog there so it makes me wonder what the conditions are with the other dogs at the daycare for them not to say anything to the owner. I mean I wouldn't under any circumstances except a dog that wasn't groomed on a regular schedule in a daycare because if they don't do that (at the very least) then what would make me believe that they get that dog to a veterinarian for something as basic as rabies shots ???

I watched all her old videos from the van on the original channel and always thought how claustrophobic it looked for Marybeth in there. Hardly room to turn around even without a big dog in there too. I think these kinds of vans would be ok for mobile groomers bathing and nail trimming smaller dogs that take less than an hour each.
These owners are ridiculous and obviously don't keep the dog groomed like they should, if they had the dog wouldn't be matted. The point is the hair will grow back but not removing the mats will only make it worse for the dog.
You keep saying about the poor dog and that no one else cares about the wellbeing of that animal. Except you had an opportunity to do something about it and decided to refuse service because you wernt in control of your own emotions. i was mortified watching the yanking around her neck. i understand how frustrating the situation with the owner was but it should never be taken out on the dog. it can cause serious injury or worsen existing injuries, i almost wanted to cry watching that bit
Needs constant maintenance. If you can’t take care of a dog that needs that then you are eventually going to cause the animal pain in an attempt to correct the problem. I would never do that dog again as the owners refuse to do what’s best for their dog. It’s frustrating for a groomer and emotionally upsetting.

I dont think its that. The dog had major surgery. She cared for the wellbeing of the dog. Plus it was a free groom for something that would cost $500 and she has her child with her. The owner should have been brushing her dog at the least

Truly unbelievable..the dog is great and if the owner was brushing her hair it wouldn't be so bad to begin with. But to expect the groomer to spend so many hrs on this dog.. And for free but act like the hair doesn't grow back is just ridiculous. Don't neglect her and it doesn't get this bad. Even on humans it takes multiple trips . Her coat will weigh so much more heavier because it’s wet and plus she’s overweight. She had a shop and sold it. Bought the van which didn't seem to last long. Now she seems to have another shop. She wasn't going to be on TH-cam very often. Also, she was no longer do free grooms. It's been a very bumpy rollercoaster of a business for her. I'm sure that there's alot of things behind the scene that are adding to her issues. She seems to be very unstable in several ways. It's sad!
Wouldn't a detangler comb work better. And protect the dog from pulling on its skin. Cowboy magic detangler works well on mats. Sitting in that sink for this long has to be really painful for her.

I would have just taken my chunkers through the matted areas after drying everything. Its not rinsed out very well, but I realized you ran out of water. You could have probably asked the owner to refill your tank so you could get all the soap and conditioner out. Leaving it in could lead to itching and worse matting. All of this said, I would never have done this for free. It's absolutely crazy to put that much work into a dog for free. I know you get revenue from youtube videos. Even still, that's a LOT of work. I commend you for doing as much as you did.
You can hear that the dog is in pain every time she makes her stand, especially when she put her hand under the hip and jerked her up, ouch, it's heartbreaking. I understand stand and appreciate what MB is trying to do with these free grooms, but she needs to learn to say no and tell the rotten owners explicitly why she won't do it, that would have saved a lot of unnecessary frustration for her and pain for the dog. So sad they let this beautiful dog get in this condition.

So many factors to the frustration in this video not only is the owner a terrible owner for the neglect. But, being in such a small space with a overweight dog the humidity, the dog not cooperating, you being soaked from head to toe etc again the owner not wanting to do what’s best for the dog you being upset that the owners is neglecting the dog it was just so much going on and I’m so sad that the cut could not be finished and I really hope that this owner was able to be convinced to shave that dog down to where the dog could have no mats and be advised that dog needed to lose some weight as well. It’s just so much.

I know this is an old video. But I remember watching it when you first posted it and feeling really frustrated with you. Watching it again I realize you actually did a lot for this dog. You got most of her undercoat out and got her super clean. Had you been allowed to shave just the matted hair she would have been perfectly done. Some people have no business owning high maintenance dogs.

I did a Bernese last week that was in this mess. I brushed first, next time I will condition first, it was sooooo much work. high velocity after brushing and dirt went all over the place. took me and my husband 4 hours to do. it turned me off of doing another dog in this condition. I never thought to condition first before dry brushing.

And that dog daycare doesn't just have one dog there so it makes me wonder what the conditions are with the other dogs at the daycare for them not to say anything to the owner. I mean I wouldn't under any circumstances except a dog that wasn't groomed on a regular schedule in a daycare because if they don't do that (at the very least) then what would make me believe that they get that dog to a veterinarian for something as basic as rabies shots ???

I watched all her old videos from the van on the original channel and always thought how claustrophobic it looked for Marybeth in there. Hardly room to turn around even without a big dog in there too. I think these kinds of vans would be ok for mobile groomers bathing and nail trimming smaller dogs that take less than an hour each.
These owners are ridiculous and obviously don't keep the dog groomed like they should, if they had the dog wouldn't be matted. The point is the hair will grow back but not removing the mats will only make it worse for the dog.
You keep saying about the poor dog and that no one else cares about the wellbeing of that animal. Except you had an opportunity to do something about it and decided to refuse service because you wernt in control of your own emotions. The owners are terrible for not taking better care of their animal, but seeing you pull an overweight and injured dog that is crying because it's scared of you is the most heartbreaking. You were pulling on that poor animal with all your force, no positive words of encouragement just sheer frustration and aggression. If you get so triggered by this and take it out on the animal I think you need to look into a different profession.

Needs constant maintenance. If you can’t take care of a dog that needs that then you are eventually going to cause the animal pain in an attempt to correct the problem. Truly unbelievable..the dog is great and if the owner was brushing her hair it wouldn't be so bad to begin with. But to expect the groomer to spend so many hrs on this dog.. And for free but act like the hair doesn't grow back is just ridiculous. Don't neglect her and it doesn't get this bad. Even on humans it takes multiple trips . Dog doesn't want to hurt for HRS bcuz u couldn't brush and bathe her. This one mad me so frustrated. Thank you for your hard work. ✊💙

She had a shop and sold it. Bought the van which didn't seem to last long. Now she seems to have another shop. She wasn't going to be on TH-cam very often. Also, she was no longer do free grooms. It's been a very bumpy rollercoaster of a business for her. I'm sure that there's alot of things behind the scene that are adding to her issues. She seems to be very unstable in several ways. It's sad!
Wouldn't a detangler comb work better. And protect the dog from pulling on its skin. Cowboy magic detangler works well on mats. Sitting in that sink for this long has to be really painful for her.

I would refuse to do it. It’s just plain cruel. Talk to the owner again and explain how painful this is for the dog and she needs to be shaved. She will grow a lovely unmatted coat which they should brush daily.

Here you have an extremely large breed of dog , that's being over fed , probably not exercised nearly enough, isn't being groomed on a day to day basis, the dogs only being groomed now because of 1 certain word ... FREE otherwise I can guarantee that dog would not be being groomed , they aren't caring for the dog , they can't even give the dog the correct diet , a dog this size over weight it's damaging her joints massively , why is that fair ?.
All that owner cares about is the fact she can be all "fancy" and say oh well i have two new foundlands , but i can guarantee she diesnt say that are over fed , not groomed EXTREMELY matted but i wont allow them to be shaved so i can start fresh brush them everyday like im ment to , that arent exercised probably just turnt out or given access to fhe garden .
Personally id have told her , they must be shaved because of your lack of grooming , shaving them will help them massively and give you the chance to headnto the dog shop get some brushes and groom them every day , it doesnt matter that the dog will look funny because its not about looks , it about making sure as a owner thst your dog is groomed , fed correctly , exercised appropriately and loved if you can not do the basics, dont get a dam dog especially a.dog of this size with a coat that needs day to day maintaining . I absolutely hate people that just buy a random breed dont look into the breed and how and what care they need then act so shocked and amazed at what needs to be done to correct their mistakes.

What’s wrong with the owner?! You clearly stated a number of times that it’s humane to remove the mats by shaving and she was so worried about appearance rather than health. Her own hair looked matted! No wonder the poor animal is suffering and there is no telling what the dog’s diet is like by it being obese! I completely understand your frustration! Those mats looked horrible. Shame on that owner for neglecting that dog and refusing help!
