All the damage is in the pulses, so I think your dps and and active fire time would be better trading the srms for one more heat sink and maxing the armor for extra survive.
Pretty much this. There is zero reason to use Raven here (aside for possible sentimental one). SRM doesn't help much and disrupts aiming. So, Wolfhound with 5xMPLs offers everything the Raven can give and more. Builds that offers the firepower similar to 4xMPL can be done on 25t (4xMPL COM-TDK) or even 20t mechs (2xMPL+5xSL FLE-17) and these mechs are more survivable, faster and offer better utility. Raven is huge, sluggish and obsolete, sadly. Baradul can go hipster with this build and do ok, but for people looking for a good light mech for starters it is better to avoid Ravens.
I just saw the first two kills in the first game. Man, that was a Flea getting stomped by that Blood Asp! The Flea never even got to fire it's weapons!
An odd build I went with fairly recently that was actually pretty alright was a large pulse with two ER medium lasers. Was great with heat management and good for medium range skirmishes.
I'm not sure how I feel about investing so many skill points into missile nodes in your planned build. Seems a lot to stack onto a single SRM4. Would probably be better to put those points into mobility or somewhere you'd be more likely to get more value for your skill points.
Anyone else notice that the engine is a 225 rating, not a XL 255 when he drops into the games? I run the same build with a Light 225 engine and run at 118 kph like his does. Maybe he changed the build later on and forgot to mention it? Or maybe recorded the intro before he changed it? Meh. Still an enjoyable video to watch anyways. Keep up the great work Bara!
Baradul, yet another enjoyable video. I look forward to the daily dose every day. That said, I'm so bummed that we never got the Axman or Hatchetman. They would have been amazing, high-risk brawlers. Sadly, won't be coming this late in t game's lifecycle. They don't appear to be in MW5, either. How do you think they would have been implemented, if they were ever in the game?
Hey, Baradul love your videos, you convinced me to get a Marauder II 4A with the 2x Lb 10. Could you try the champion King Crab with rotary Ac 5's it fun and deadly
I am confused by the match scores for that second game, specifically for the enemy team. The AFK guy who stayed alive but did nothing got 14 points while TalkyDoor did 170 damage with seven assists and scored 0. That makes no sense to me, can anyone explain?
last episode, plays a RAC fafnir. this video, finds one with a fast light mech build that picks it off while it is slow getting to the fight. so.... next video, light mech hunter? :P
Ah, the 2X. I like running it with a single LPL + 3 ERMLs or dual snubnose PPCs- the energy quirks give it nice fire rates and you can effectively pick at targets without having to get too close.
#notmyraven #boomchicken Okay, in a serious note I like that you're giving less popular mech variants a chance. I might have another idea for you: Trebuchet 7K with 2 ER large lasers and a light Gauss, fire support where you can stick in second line.
How do you stay invested in the game Baradul? Faction play is dead and usually a stomp fest either way (I play with the major clan/hub groups), and QP is full of shitters that just nascar. PGI has abandoned the game and there just seems to be no reason to keep plaing
What do you call a Raven that helps his team mates?
A good wingman.
....
They’re great emotional support too, they always be hugin you :p
Ba dum, tssss.
(Man TH-cam mechbro comments sections be all 'bout dem jokes today.) ;P

That shield arm makes me wonder how hard it would be to implement combat shields as a piece of equipment in MWO.

Light mechs! Thanks, Sir!!!))))

Could have been done as a very short range(1-3? m) weapon.
This is what I like to see. Good games!
That was a great last round!
Raven is my favorite Mech.
So bassicly the only time you use xl inner sphere engines is on light mechs
I’m guessing light for all other mechs
Nice games. Love Ravens a lot. Thanks
Try the ECM raven with stealth armor, 2x srm4-Artemis, and 3 medium lasers.
It's a goddamn riot.
I really really like this build very cool.
Yay more Ravens, best mech.
yay!
Thank you for covering my requested build
Remember, hit the jagermechs in the legs. They always strip armor there for more ammo and the right leg is used up last. Ammo explosions are so nice.
Raven is love.
Thanks for the vid sir.👍🏼👍🏼
nice games to watch :)
tenacious d *lach* :D Raven 3L was my first Mech in MWO. Btw can you do a Video with your Soundpack + Installation?
I can't wait for your cooking show after you retire. "cooking with molten metal"

He might have done team damage
@@timgooding9464 Thanks, I never considered that. I was thinking maybe a math error due to the 0:00 capture time.

"Shooting them in the butt" hahaha
I like the Raven, even if it's rather hard to not get killed instantly. ;)

I'd name this build the "Roasted Turkey"
Little Centurion? I would say it looks more like cicada's arm
Raving about the raven?
Unskilled Mech=one dead Lance XD
This is not the best song in the world.
It's just a tribute.

Ranting and raven..
