Eva Gabor was a real lady and actually performed first aid on my grandmother. Grandma was a cook at the Racquet Club, a very exclusive club in Miami during the 1960s. While cooking one night, she burned herself badly and screamed out. Eva was in the restaurant and heard her and ran into the kitchen and bandaged grandma up. Grandma was so proud of that moment and told me how much of a lady Eva was and how kind she was to her.
Oh honey, Miss Bianca from The Rescuers? She’s *e v e r y t h i n g*. Her only articles of clothing are a fur pillbox hat and a beautiful shawl, both in the same stunning shade of lilac. She was out there doing humanitarian work and search & rescues, and looking FABULOUS while doing so.
With that one role, Eva Gabor solidified her place in my childhood! And the fact that she and Bob Newhart came back like 13 years later to do Rescuers Down Under is just 😘🤌 Such a great pairing, such great movies!
You are the new Glam Hollywood historian!!!!🥰 I grew up with the Gabor sisters on Tv, yet didn’t know half of what you explained. I must mention the campy Zsa Zsa movie “Queen of Outer Space” a must see for wig lovers!❤
Jaymes is channeling the Gabor sisters. Wow! The hair looks beyond amazing, cute little waves and the pin up . I learned so much from the history too. Fabulous job as a teacher, commentator, and artist Jaymes.🤩🙌🏻🤩
These women were famous for being whip smart and fast in conversation, they'd be lethal together and stood their ground alone, there was nothing you could throw at them. It seems an art that no longer really exists, their speak at the table was top level, hilarious, comebacks like dirt, nothing fazed them.
I did zsazsa in drag back in 1997 or 98. Filmed me singing "my way" in a bubble bath as zsa zsa. I hope that clip never resurfaces. But I nailed the accent!
Zsa zsa was a fixture on Johnny Carsons Tonight Show for many years. I remember she appeared on the Brady Bunch and Gilligan's Island. Always loved her. Yas, check out Queen of outer space. Still hoping for a Evita Peron do....her earlier looks had big front barrel rolls. Love you Jaymes. Please consider a collaboration with Wilma Fingerdoo
Thank you so much speaking with so much respect and love about the Gábor sisters. Love all your stories, but this one is very close to my heart. Greetings from Budapest! :)
I love these videos so much! You are great at delivering a great Hollywood history lesson and very much honor the subject. I've always loved Zsa Zsa and you've done a great job for her!
I never knew that Eva and Zsa Zsa were two different people. I used to watch Green Acres as a kid when it was in syndication on a local public channel. She was hilarious and the music is so distinctive. and they had a 3rd sister named Magda? dang! I remember when Zsa Zsa slapped that police officer. It was such a story.
If there's anything positive to say about growing up, is realizing that some stuff from childhood is even cooler than you thought, or understanding why it's cool. Like getting old enough to realize how awesome it is we got Eva Gabor and Bob Newhart in The Rescuers.
Thankyou so much fir the videos you do. Love the things you talk about with back stories of Hollywood Royalty while doing the wig hair. It my kind of video.😊🎉
We were taking a tour around Hungary (Budapest) and the tour guide told us the name ZsaZsa was normal there. Kind of like the name Susan would be in the States. I thought you might wander into rumor town about Eva being a beard for Merv Griffin. Adore your show ✨
A couple more for you Leslie Parish and Donna Douglas--Daisy May and Ellie May, but more so than Lil Abner, Leslie Parish in the William Ware Theiss gown on Star Trek.
I'm officially starting my campaign now: *DAME JOANNA LUMLEY/PATSY STONE FOR ICONIC BLONDES!* She's had a really interesting life and career to talk about, too!
Jaymes, where do I begin... I absolutely LOVE your videos and learn so much. Your passion and joy is gorgeous. Love your work! Its Simple Darling is one of my favourite media moments in history, so CAMP! X
The Gabor's live on in one of the most unique ways that many other famous people don't get to - in the form of a cliche character or personality that has been used time and time again in film and animation.
I love you James, i watch more for the stories than the styling,,, you missed one thing,, Zsa Zsa's famous line "" I Hate That Queen"" in the b movie " Queen of Outer space 🇨🇵💋🤗
4:56-6:22 Oooh but girl people get PISSED when people make claims like that ESPECIALLY for example in vintage fashion or vintage "nostalgia" Facebook groups, like if the Gabor sisters and/or their mother shows up and someone mentions them being like the "Kardashians" of that day People will immediately react and reply, saying things like ( and I am quoting some examples from actual posts) "..with all the glamour and self-awareness that the Kardashians will •never• have" "The Gabors were far more talented with both Zsa Zsa and Eva both having acting careers. Eva being the most successful as an in-demand supporting player on film and later starring in the TV series GREEN ACRES. No to mention voicing over two memorable characters - Duchess in THE ARISTOCATS and Miss Bianca in THE RESCUERS - in two Disney animated features. " "The Kardashians of their day....only these women were all natural and gorgeous" "they were better, they had class." ( The "they " that commenter was referring to was the Gabor sisters) "They were better! And Zsa Zsa starred in The Queen of Outer Space, a nutty sci-fi movie, and Eva was in Green Acres. They were all gold-diggers. McCall's magazine serialized Zsa Zsa's autobiography, and the readership loved it." You know sometimes when I read comments like this I cannot help but is it because of people's nostalgia for back then that makes them say things like this and not realize how even people back then may have said or thought similar things about the Gabors. The way we do about the Kardashians😉😂🤣
OMG HUNAGRY MENTIONED !!!! Bojler eladó !!!! Akciós a csirkefarhát!!!!! Also i Love how she knows how zsazsa is pronouncedy kudos! Gabor on the other hand... Well I'm not gonna get into it. Still nice to see some hungarians tho!
My only exposure to the Gabors was Zsa Zsa being killed by Dick Cavett after he turns into Freddy Kruger on Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors. For iconic brunettes could you please do an Elvira wig that doesn’t use the licensed Elvira wigs?

Grandma was so proud of that moment and told me how much of a lady Eva was and how kind she was to her.
Miss Eva not only voiced Miss Bianca, The Rescuers but she was also the glamorous Duchess, The Aristocats.
Reading this at the start of the video and *gasp*
Oh honey, Miss Bianca from The Rescuers? She’s *e v e r y t h i n g*. Her only articles of clothing are a fur pillbox hat and a beautiful shawl, both in the same stunning shade of lilac. She was out there doing humanitarian work and search & rescues, and looking FABULOUS while doing so.
Yass. Love this comment!🤗
omg yes! I remember Zsa Zsa was also in Happily Ever After. I wore out my VHS of that movie as a kid, I was obsessed with it.
I've watched The Rescuers about a hundred times and never knew this!!
Yes! And she was also in one of my fave Lewis and Martin films Artists and Models and she was stunning! I love the Gabor sisters😁
With that one role, Eva Gabor solidified her place in my childhood! And the fact that she and Bob Newhart came back like 13 years later to do Rescuers Down Under is just 😘🤌 Such a great pairing, such great movies!
I actually love history time with Jaymes!
Iconic indeed. Growing up in the 80s, any kid who wanted to do a “rich lady” impression would do the Gabor “Dahling! That’s dahling, dahling!” voice.
Would love to see you do Stevie Nicks! Her shag perm from her late 80s music videos was super unique and kind of surreal.
I love the Gabor Sisters. They WERE STUNNING
Every time I watch Bewitched with Elizabeth Montgomery, I think of you and how much I would love to see you do her hair in Iconic Blonds.
You are the new Glam Hollywood historian!!!!🥰
I grew up with the Gabor sisters on Tv, yet didn’t know half of what you explained. I must mention the campy Zsa Zsa movie “Queen of Outer Space” a must see for wig lovers!❤
Thank you for showcasing the fabulous Gabor sisters. I was completely fascinated by them growing up in the 70’s and 80’s.
Zsa Zsa has a small but fun cameo in Nightmare on Elm Street 3 Dream Warriors !
My late Mom styled her hair exactly like Zsa Zsa Gabor on
The title of this video , ever since I remember her , until she
Died in 2014. ❤
I love these videos because I love getting the history behind all of these celebs.
Jaymes is channeling the Gabor sisters. Wow! The hair looks beyond amazing, cute little waves and the pin up . I learned so much from the history too. Fabulous job as a teacher, commentator, and artist Jaymes.🤩🙌🏻🤩
I watched Zsa Zsa’s trial on Court Tv back in the day…modern true crime doesn’t hold a candle to Court Tv from the 90s.
Love your history classes, it’s like Hollywood American girl doll audio books at the salon!
Yes.. these two were hollywood iconic history royalty...in my opinion.
These women were famous for being whip smart and fast in conversation, they'd be lethal together and stood their ground alone, there was nothing you could throw at them. It seems an art that no longer really exists, their speak at the table was top level, hilarious, comebacks like dirt, nothing fazed them.
Loooove history time with Mama Jaymes!
I remember your video of styling the Gabor wig such a good video. It'd be cool to see more wig styling videos of wigs from the 60s, 70s, and such!
For iconic blondes I'd love to see Brigitte Bardot or Jane Fonda in Barbarella.
I cant wait for the recreation of one and only iconic blonde Jaymes Mansfield!
zsa zsa's standout role for me is herself in the peewee herman christmas special
I remember Zsa Zsa narrated a movie about a female dog named Mooch. It was fantastic.
I did zsazsa in drag back in 1997 or 98. Filmed me singing "my way" in a bubble bath as zsa zsa. I hope that clip never resurfaces. But I nailed the accent!
This was amazing, thanks Jaymes. Maybe try Jan Brady’s iconic ringlets, but I don’t know if this is too simple 🙈
My grandmother owned an Eva Gabor wig back in the day!
I'd like to see a Bette Davis wig for Iconic Blondes.
Dahlingggg! Amazing video as usual
Thank you. They had a fascinating life!
Zsazsa also starred in Christmas at Peewee's Playhouse. A huge celebrity cast for that movie! 1988
Ivana Trump and Patsy Stone are iconic blondes, for sure. 😉
I’ve never been this early for a video😩🥰
If there's anything positive to say about growing up, is realizing that some stuff from childhood is even cooler than you thought, or understanding why it's cool. Like getting old enough to realize how awesome it is we got Eva Gabor and Bob Newhart in The Rescuers.
Omg omg omg. I’ve been waiting for these one for ages. Hurray!!!!! Thanks ❤
Hi Jaymes and Ernie
Missed the live by *this much*, love you Jaymes.
I always wondered if Pizzazz from Jem and the Holograms real name was inspired by the Gabors. Her real name was Phyllis Gabor!
i wonder that too !
Maybe you could do like... a mini video of The Rachel?
Thankyou so much fir the videos you do. Love the things you talk about with back stories of Hollywood Royalty while doing the wig hair. It my kind of video.😊🎉
Jaymes, do the Lisa Marie wig from Mars Attacks!!! I think you would slay that wig! Also, any herstory you have do tell!!!
This is my favorite yet. 😍😍😍😍
Iconic Blonde: Angela Landsbury. I know she's known for shorter styles, but it might be an interesting look to drag up.
PLEASE do Elke Sommer!! ❤
That’s a beautiful wig❤❤❤
We were taking a tour around Hungary (Budapest) and the tour guide told us the name ZsaZsa was normal there. Kind of like the name Susan would be in the States.
I thought you might wander into rumor town about Eva being a beard for Merv Griffin.
Adore your show ✨
Loved this video
You should do Marlene Dietrich next. Not only is she an Iconic Blonde, but she has a place in queer history as well.
Rachel Hunt from the Stacy’s Mom music video! I want to learn how to do a wet look with a wig! 🥺👉👈
I appreciate all the info. I love these
I would LOVE to see a short hairstyle like P!nk for your next iconic blonde
You’re telling me that’s not you in the thumbnail, Jaymes?
haha when I tell you I nearly put two pictures of the same person so many times. They looked so alike.
Love you and the series, James! Perhaps Charo or Celia Cruz for an upcoming Iconic Blondes video?
@jaymes, b4 the tease out that wig looked very Nellie Oelson.🏠
Hey Jaymes! What about Kim Novak in Vertigo for an Iconic Blonde? Her hair in that is kind of a plot point and has a historical link so might be fun
A couple more for you Leslie Parish and Donna Douglas--Daisy May and Ellie May, but more so than Lil Abner, Leslie Parish in the William Ware Theiss gown on Star Trek.
I loved this video. Thanks, Jaymes!
Jaymes being so into this story that 5 mins into the video and she hasn't done anything other than brush the wig lol
You have to do Veronica Lake next
Beautiful Dahlink!
You have to get that to Juno Birch.... it's such a " her " look.
I'm officially starting my campaign now: *DAME JOANNA LUMLEY/PATSY STONE FOR ICONIC BLONDES!* She's had a really interesting life and career to talk about, too!

I first heard of Zsa Zsa Gabor through the comic Outland, and I pronounced her name "Zissa"
Arlene Francis! What an amazing reference for the kids.
I am convinced that jaymes just like curling wigs because she was curled before this video started
I love you James, i watch more for the stories than the styling,,, you missed one thing,, Zsa Zsa's famous line "" I Hate That Queen"" in the b movie " Queen of Outer space 🇨🇵💋🤗
Love the video but no mention of Geeenacres or The Queen of Outer Space !
I mentioned Green Acres
@@JaymesMansfield My apologies then to you cos I know your research is absolutely on point
Didn’t Zsa Zsa do a “horror movie”. Like Queen of the Universe or something like that?
MADONNA PLEASE!!!!
Jaymes darling you are the last surviving Gabor sister!
New York is where I'd rather stay,

I LOVE THE GABOR SISTERS!!!
A real Iconic blonde: Carmen Diaz bangs from Something About Mary😁😁😁
I'm firsttttt 😭❤
Yassss! Welcome
I think it’s a no brainer but you have to do Jeanne Harlow and similar. Maybe even spice it up and do a historical iconic blonde?
My favorite history Channel!!!!!!!
Omg! what stand are you using for your wig form? it’s so stable!!!
4:56-6:22
