Growing up in Dubai, my school bus would pass through the building site everyday, so I got a five year long montage of it being built from the ground up.
I used to work at the Petronas Twin Towers. Every Friday, the facility managers would conduct special prayer sessions (I can’t remember what it’s called) to appease the spirits of the workers who died constructing the building. Apparently, they even had the Towers blessed by religious personages on regular basis. Many have claimed to encounter ghosts but I myself never did.

As a civil engineer, thanks for giving credit to major importance of engineering design and not just trying to lump the structural analysis with the architect (the aesthetics captain of the building)
The problem I would have with these tall buildings is imagining that you have to wake up an additional hour to get on an elevator to get to the ground floor.
@Sebastian Branch once i watched i documentary about those problems in the tower/burg like the elevators and how fast they should be so people won't waste hours to get to their destination and what would happen if the burg is on fire and people get stuck in the upper floors (you know a helicopter won't help a lot in such case) . So they planned 3 major express elevators, like you mentioned, 3 major floors ( I don't remember i think 42 , 120 ad so on) with a dozen of minor elevators to complete the Trip. I mean the people who made this miraculous tower are great i feel really sorry for their suffer...

Seeing The Twin Tower KLCC makes a proud Malaysian 🇲🇾 Can you guys do a video abt the construction of the Twin Tower? Because i watched the documentary of it and it has quite amazing engineering feats worth mentioning as the architects and engineers had to adapt to the condition of soil and climate weather in Malaysia.
The CN Tower also uses a similar design as the Burg.. I'm surprised it wasn't mentioned in this video. It was the tallest freestanding structure for over 30 years until the Burj.

There's the theoretician behind the tubular design concept that made the Burj Khalifa a reality, Fazlur Rahman Khan. Then the people who actually put in the sweat to build it. Fascinating, and interesting to know that one of the people most responsible for the way our modern cities look is someone I've never heard of--Mr. Rahman Khan.
The irony of this all is that the genius who made it possible to build such gigantic structures, Fazlur Rahman Khan being from Bangladesh, his fellow countrymen would later be used as “slaves” to create the Burj Khalifa.

Actually, the challenging role is not an architectural but a structural designer. Normally, most people firstly think about the architecture when they see a building. Actually, the structural designer faces a lot of challenges and calcualation in strucutral designing process to withstand the lateral loads which are basically earthqauke and windloads.
i've been to Dubai several times, and one thing i can say (being related to this video) is there is A LOT of skyscrapers. They are so tall you have to turn your head all the way up in order to see tops of the buildings. If you keep your look straight it is very simmilar, as someone just stretched them out of sight. It gets even worse with Burj Khalifa, as if you stand near its foundation (The Dubai Fountain at one of Dubai Mall exit in my case) because it feels like someone keeps stretching it out of sight, until you are almost looking straight at sky, you can barely see top of it. It was mindblowing to remember that you are standing next to 828 meter building.
They show the story in the lift, as tourists visit the 124th floor with high speed, to divert their attention if someone is very afraid of the speed I have been there it is just fab😍
BUET(Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology) was the first engineering school where FR Khan studied. I graduated in Architecture from same school. What a shame that there is not a single building named after him in BUET. Thanks for mentioning Bangladeshi Labours who worked to make this building. This is a modern day pyramid. I wish the arabs run out of oil some day.
I lived at Dubai for 7 years. I see Burj Khalifa everyday. Literally, because it's so tall, you can see it anywhere. 😂🤣 No joke this story is true. Burj Khalifa is tall enough to be seen from 100 kilometers away. It's easy to navigate through Dubai by just looking to see the skyscraper. 😂😄

thanks gosh in this time they included sri lanka in the map too. most of the times when talking about human victims in middle eastern countries, these western reports often ignore sri lanka and only include india, pakistan, Philippines, indonesia like countries.

There’s also double-decker elevators for even-numbered floors and odd-numbered floors.
U can go to the bottom in 2 mins. Not optimal although manageable

Been to the Burj.. to the 125th floor.. Surreal experience
The multitude of factors involved such as location, materials, manpower, and climate, make this project a challenging endeavor for engineering.
