James you don't want to know what's going on in the medical world, you'r just scraping the outside of the surface... everyone enables them, everyone, everyone...from micro to macro level in society.....it's absolutely hopeless ... don't get me started. So on another note: As a retired female medic I discovered James May slowly taking hoovers and lawn mowers apart and slowly putting them back together again. Wonderful videos. I tried my lawn mower destined for the skip, took it apart and bought spare parts via internet for a few quit and it's perfectly working again! Next was the hoover that kicked the bucket, one part of 6 euros replaced and it's perfectly hoovering again ! I webt on revising all my home appliances and I never felt so proud in my life. I just installed a nostalgic toilet and renewed another one, and a radiator, I'm unstoppable now. Bring it on....thank you James May. Best hobby ever.
my concern is more leaning towards a future in which a government that has been pushed over the line into a totalitarian regime akin to China or Russia, then have this nationwide surveillance system readily available to them and a police force willing to make use of it for their own ends. Imagine if the Gestapo had access to such a network of cameras and trackers.

Here's the thing about 'surveillance'. There are two types. Active surveillance, where there are living people watching the feed in real-time, much like a casino. Then there is passive surveillance, where the cameras are merely recording their field of view. I see nothing wrong with passive surveillance in public spaces, as long as the acquisition and retention is strictly regulated. The person that would complain about being filmed using a walk-up ATM would quickly change their tune when that footage was used when their car was stolen in front of that same ATM. Public spaces are called public because in no way are they private. Yes, we have private spaces in public (changing rooms/bathrooms), but those locations are not observed, as the law states. Perhaps we should use words that are more specific. 'Observed' means a living person is watching in real-time, either in person or via a camera. The other is being 'filmed' or 'recorded'. I have zero issue with the latter.

In reference yo the theatre scenario, i witnessed NURSES FEMALE making comments on the size of men's penises. So to say this is purely men is obnoxious to reality. Two visits to view a surgery and happened both times.
