As an Australian, I feel Mahindra can dominate if these 4 key market needs are fulfilled - Scorpio pickup is almost as good as Ford/Toyota, but not as good as Subaru. Needs improvement. - Spare parts should be low cost and available even in the Outback Australia. - Add more dashboard space, especially for glove-box space & more cup-holders. - Exhaust pipe opening higher than boot/trunk is a big win. If an Aussie is reading this, you know what I'm talking about.
Mahindra is a criminally low grade vehicle that becomes a death trap in the wet owing to inherent design flaws. But all this is easy to overlook in the scam capital of the world where 50% of MPs in the parliament of India are convicted rapists & murderes.
I live in Australia, there's two kinds of people here the urban and country side folks. And trust me on this Scorpio pickup and new gen scorpio is getting there with the country side people and they really don't care much about safety features. All they care about is price and 4x4 features because Australia is mostly wildland. So even if xuv700 may not get popular, scorpio-n will become very popular specially at this price range.
Issue with mahindra is-- If they load a lot of technology in Scorpio N, it will certainly become the first choice of customers over XUV 700 or atleast affect its sale. So I feel they deliberately keeping scorpio N inferior to 700 in engine torque and safety features like ADAS
XUV700 is crossover and then luxury is main reason for its sales and Scorpio N is build on ladder frame make it slightly less comfortable but more capable on off road.

I am from Australia. Mahindra is very popular in the farming communities of Australia and also in Fiji where a lot of Indians are farmers. These Fijian Indians were brought to the British colony of Fiji by the British colonial rulers in the mid to late 1800s. They used Mahindra tractors and vehicles and even after they moved to Australia and New Zealand, those who decided to continue as farmers bought Mahindra tractors and trucks. A lot of Australian farmers also love the dependability, reliability and practicality of Mahindra products.
Recently, some Australian singer lady shared her experience on Facebook where she showed her XUV500 crossing 3,00,000 KM on the Odo... and that too without any major issue... Can such thing justify its reliability and also place the brand image similar to Toyota? (asking because they're comparing reliability of 70 series with the pickup)

It is a unforeseeable response from developed countries. Yeah Mahindra does have a capabilities to compete with international products, but only thing which it lack is that internal production issues like waiting periods. You wouldn't surprise, In few days Toyota owners would say this things 😂. This time Mahindra took nibble out from toyota. as a indian i think it almost costs 2700000 INR on road and it cost 50000 AUD in australia seriously i mean we cannot even imagine to buy a 2 wheeler in 50000 INR
Automobile buyers in developed markets don’t compromise on safety and convenience features, and seldomly look at efficiency and value in their vehicles. Indian market is the exact opposite; to hell with safety, people here only buy cars based on mileage and spec sheet (panoramic roof, 360 camera, ventilated seats, etc.). Therefore it’s tricky for one manufacturer to build a car with these two polar opposite buyers in mind, and that’s why Mahindra in my opinion has found a middle ground where they offer limited features in their cars to keep them at a certain price point (key part of their strategy in developed markets), while not compromising on safety features like airbags, crash test safety rating / chassis quality, and ADAS.
Scorpio N is simply a beast. And the deep forest color is rarely seen as people generally opt for black and white but whenever its there on road, you cant get your eyes away from it. 🤩 Color is something personal but it has to be unique which is not the case with Black and White
Death trap made in India the scam capital of the world from where millions of Indian scammers steal the life savings of old & sick Australian citizens.
The fact of the matter is that what Indians consider luxurious in a car, the rest of the world considers as 'cheap and affordable'. It was the same case with Mahindra's SUVs in Australia until they decided to level up and really do a good job with the New Scorpio and the XUV 700. It's still not up to Aussie standards but with a dimension increase, more power and better safety features in future models, Mahindra could be a formidable competitor in the international automotive space.
Australians have now learned a lesson after throwing out their home grown automaker Holden and relying completely on cheap foreign products. And they will continue to suffer as they’ll have to pay more for those same cheap foreign products in future.
