Could be unrelated, but a high school did this closer this past marching season, i believe it was Flower Mound High School in Fractured Moments. And if I’m not mistaken their arranger is Wayne downey who arranges for BD. The also had a pretty damn good arrangement.
I think one reason this music is soooo appealing is because it’s worthy of dropping into any scene of the next great epic hero/adventure movie as-is. Makes you long for something fantastic! That’s why when people hear it in person they fall over themselves trying to stand up and cheer before it’s over. I feel privileged to have seen it live! These kids are so good at performing it. I don’t see a group of people but rather a complete Corp functioning as one with a single purpose which makes it even more interesting because of the story behind it.
I don't recall the last time I would seek out horn line vid from SCV. As a drumline peep, I would seek Crown, Bluecoats or BD. Oh wait, SCV 2005 rewarm up behind Gillette Stadium. And the SCV 2009 closer. Nevermind, carry on.
That's partly because my microphone isn't great at picking them up, and the high brass was on fire that night too, even in person I couldn't hear the low brass very well!
the mellos are so freaking good wow
That ending is just incredible. Might be one of the best hornline moments in the past few years
Totally agree, this was so cool to see, they've got a winner here!

Scott Wilson yeah they really did I go to Churchill high school and march mello and loved their show last year
Watching scvs hornline and drumline in person for the first time was quite an experience 10/10 would do again
LOL 2:44 is like me having a fever dream about 2018 SCV 😂. But seriously so good!

I love the way the drum major’s hands fly in the closer
It's amazing what can be accomplished when you use air. Bravo, SCV! Bring it home.
4:08
The step out in the back RIP
I was in this lot. And it was absolutely incredible.
Damn they def got my favorite brass book this year. Excited to see how they do by the end of the season

Jeff Menendez There's this one video from 2009, in the lot at Walnut, CA. Still an awesome video to listen back to!
All of Rance Costa's videos from 09/10 are great. Feagin's influence in the hornline had them sounding like an organ.
I get whole body chills when I hear this!
Damn those mellos!
Those horns up at 2:28😍
PurpleKnight139 insane horn pop!!!!!!
*Parabéns a todo, Saudações do Brasil*

They're singing
Is that their drum major from this year in the white shirt lmao
Was 2:49 with half-valve? Or was it singing?
Pretty sure it's on mouthpieces, though I'm not 100% sure.
Sounded like singing through the horn...
It's on the berp!
Ahh...actually had to look that one up...didn't have those in the way, way back days...
What's a berp?
Then foghorns!
