We don't need a second Amphibia, especially since who knows how they can communicate. Luz failed to contact her mom while she wasn't in the human-realm, so long distance relationships aren't an option :(
I highly doubt that ending is gonna happen. A. It doesn't fit with the messages, the story is all about finding the right people to accept you but challenge you to grow as a person, leaving them at the state it is now would burn every message about connections to the ground and I know the owl crew isn't dumb enough to do that. B. Luz is very good at getting people to change their worldview and she's relentless at it. Even when seeing her mom again is still, her greatest fear, she isn't gonna feel that same pressure as grom and she'll probably have her companions to help. C. Those videos Luz sent her mom but never went though are still an important plot point, once the portal door is open, those videos are going to send, which will add buildup to when they actually meet. So keep your hopes up buddy!
