Omg! Wearing a shoes that is unexpected with an outfit completely change the game in the most unique stylish creative cool edgy way without having to try too hard. In fact, I always like doing that but never realize the power of such a style until you spoke about it in the video. Style is such a weird thing. Everyone is doing monochrome. What happened to being different and embracing individual style? I loved it when you mixed prints. Still loved the new content too.
Hey! A makeup remover wipe will get the makeup out better than soap/water I have found!! Also a hint from a nurse who wore white for years! A stain on white is such a pain- used “white out “ liquid that’s used mainly for typos on paper but it’s not that good BUT white chalk sticks are excellent!!!
I would use it right on the stain as much as it takes then kind of tap it with your finger- great for when you can’t really fix it right away- it’s so excellent for fixing stains on white sneakers or cloth-like shoes - it’s miraculous ❤️ ( Ofcourse once you arrive home you can clean these things properly) nothing like a white peice of chalk in your bag or pocket!!!!
And ……No black in the southeast- looks and feels very hot and “heavy” very high humidity and temps >90!

I live in Las Vegas and it's a perpetual 108 degrees. All black will make me melt into a puddle of ooze LOL and my Afro-Caribbean brain need prints/patterns --- But I will do a full earth tone monochromatic look from time to time LOL :)
We have been having triple digits up here in Northern California. Right now, we are having a cooling trend in the 90s. I am out at 5:30 a.m., walking my dog in leggings and a light, oversized hooded jacket over my tee.
But cowboy or harness boots and a dress have always been my favorite go-to! 25 years ago, I wore my lizard skin boots with a green floral mini dress to the San Diego Comicon. I could never get into wearing ballet flats. I find them uncomfortable. They have no support!
Now that I am older, 75, I find my body has changed, and I have to rethink my clothing choices. You look beautiful in those square neck dresses. They are flattering, but the square neckline that I used to love, sadly doesn't look the same on me now. But I have been loving that baggy oversized look, especially if it is that light flowing fabric for summer.

Yes. I've found my style choices have needed to change as I've gotten older too - and it's not about what's appropriate (hate that) but what looks best. I can't get away with boho styles without looking dated and frumpy, for example.

I have a serious phobia of prints. One of my clients pointed out to me many years ago that I dress very monochromatic, so I purchased a print top. Couldn’t walk out the house with it on😂😂😂😂

Basically, the weather in north Essex (20 odd miles from London) is cold, wet and windy: not bad for February or November!! Looking longingly at my summer clothes, whilst reaching for jeans, jumpers and padded jackets….

I love these tips! I can’t always pull them off like you do by any means, but I feel like it makes me stand out a bit. I get more compliments on being “stylish” when I do some of these things. My favorite is the unexpected shoe … I’m a Dr Martens girl and love pairing some of the more aggressive boots with more feminine clothes! ❤
From central Florida. It’s killer. We are hitting high 90s and rain which makes it very muggy.
I'm in Texas and we are in the 90s for the 3rd week. I have also noticed am also getting from patterns. One piece at a time I'm am starting to take them out of my wardrobe.
Chicago waffling between 70F and 93F. Wearing only what will not show sweat stains or pick up schmutz from park benches, outdoor cafe chairs or street fair food. Avoiding linen unless blended with rayon.
Bought three pairs decent sunglasses and invested in prescription lenses in ombre colors red to orange, turquoise to green and purple to green.
Experimenting with unexpected color combinations, especially shoes and bags. Too hot to wear hats or heavy jewelry but tying silk scarves to tote bags.
Yes, yes, yes to wrong shoes, especially bright colored flipflops or bright colored sneakers with skirts. Sequined tank tops under sheer blouses look so cool in sunlight as a "wrong layer" for a daytime street style look. Always lifts spirits. Sequined bra good under sheer is good too, but a full sequin tank under sheer in the sun turns up the volume. Bright bathing suits under crisp white tees still a classic. Wearing oversized plain(no lace or eyelet) beach coverups in sheer gauzy fabric in place of oversized menswear shirts for sheer effect.
Looking for a sheer wrap skirt for layering with everything. Curious about how skirt shapes are changing. Seems like a 1950s full skirt shape is gaining traction.
Because I am 67 and losing my battle with gravity, I am finding that I prefer V-necks and open collars that give the illusion that my boobs are closer to my neck than my waist. (I had a recent rude awakening from a mirror that caught my just right wearing a turtleneck tucked into my waistband. Believe me, everything was wrong with that pictures. Then I saw some Ralph Lauren photos of older models all wearing open collars. I especially liked the photos accessorized with gold jewelry sitting under/inside the collars.
Love the sheer shoe look but passing on it due to surgeries and "Fred Flintstone Feet.". Mine are 11W but I need memory foam and arch supports, ha-ha-ha... I earned every imperfection by having a good life and now I get to be creative and fun.

In Sweden it's about 13-18 degrees right now, so I´m wearing jeans, hoodies and sneakers. We had a very warm period before so I hope the warm weather will return😀. I’m in the nordic countries. Personally don’t like too hot weather but people here often complain about bad weather on summer. Yes the summer is short and can be very up n down but with the climate change and horrible heat in many many places I would rather try to appreciate we don’t have to go through that.

It's 93 in Atlanta and I find myself wearing solid colors but having things with texture or keeping patterns as an accent, such as a pair of flats or a bag, glasses or a hat. My hair is also an accessory as I wear it twisted.
Hey Karen. I'm in the DFW area, so summer starts in May here, lol. I still wear patterns , but mainly solids. However,when it comes to dresses, I like classic styles that you can wear for yrs. I am also focusing on filling in my wardrobe with basics such as t shirts, light pants, and jeans. Love the statement boots with a dress and a sheer item to elevate any outfit. I love summer black. It's rebellious and I'm not typical. I wear long sleeves, pants, dresses that are lightweight and oversized to create breezes. Most extreme heat locations wear more clothing, not less, to use fabric for a cooling effect. I wear cushy platforms shoes - not flats because surface ground temps are so hot. BTW it's 115f+ for >5 months/yr in Az.
I dont think prints are necessarily outdated, it depends on the print. Cuts can go out of style, too, and it's done on purpose to force people to keep buying new things.Try prints that sort of have a vintage feel. For prints or cuts, vintage doesn't really go out of style.

I’ve looked at all the Staud dresses online and none of the white sleeveless ones I’ve seen have the shirred back, with a side zipper, and no horizontal seam at the waist like the one she’s wearing in the video.

Hmmmmm,, we just come thru the last gasp of Spring-high 80sF and we’ve been loving it. Summer temps are starting to come in and we should be in the 100 to 112F within a week. Black looks lovely on you, Karen, but please consider tucking in your top. That way your smashing figure will be obvious and you won’t look so dumpy.

Love the video and agree about black in the summer although I never wear it in the winter. Weather-wise, in Nottingham it is 22c but this time last week it was 12. It’s a nightmare which I’m sure you remember.

It is in the low to mid 90s in my part of Tennessee but the heat index makes it feel almost 100°. Then there's the humidity 🥵. You can be naked and still be too damn hot 😅

I like some of your suggestions and I really considering getting a jelly clear ballet flat I saw online. Even with my large chest OMG, hope you did not suffer too much! Now I am thinking it a good idea to carry different kind of meds for those what if situations (stomach issues, headaches, allergy, etc.), you been under the weather a few times after or during your travels. I came from traveling for my son wedding a few weeks ago suffering not sure if it was allergies or a bad cold. My guy friend got a bad bout with food poisoning during his travel and the next day when he got in I bought him some Pepto Bismol (40 tablets count) and some ginger ale and he got better later that day, but I bounce after a few hours because not sure if he caught a bug or not and did not want to take that chance and that sickness is a bet messy.
I was lucky I did find a great white sundress last year during the Fall that fit and supported my large chest with the same neckline you mention here, and I hope I did not gain too much weight where it won't fit when I finally get a chance to wear it. I have been trying to make sure that I put on lip color and earring before I leave the house.

You’re always so inspiring! I just bought two linen dresses, one black one white both to the floor super minimalist. Sleeveless and I don’t love my arms. Thought of something sheer on top or cropped and chunky. Shoes? I’m traveling on Monday and will be walking miles. What shoes could be really comfortable but still stylish?
karen, can you please pleaseeee tell me the brand of the white Marshall's dress? have the Staud version and it's beautiful, i own 10+ versions of the Wells dress but none of them have pockets. yours does! i really want it. is it 7 for all mankind? i see that brand at marshalls lately and looks similar

@@KarenBritChick girl i love you but why are you fronting? the dress from marshall's isn't the Staud Wells dress. the Staud Wells dress has a back zip, (yours has a side zip, the princess seams are further apart on yours, yours has a ruched back panel (Staud Wells does not have this) and yours has pockets (Staud wells does not have pockets). the dress you linked is not the same dress. that's fine, it's similar to the dupe you bought at Marshalls. why not be honest about that? people will buy via your link thinking it's the same dress as the video, it's not. the irrefutable fact is the ruching panel in yours (you can see the stock photos on Saks website does not have that) and yours has pockets (the Saks dress does not). yours is a dupe and that's fine but why lie to people? your dress is not Staud, it's a dupe. the dress you linked is not the same dress, it's not even the same length. yours is midi the one linked in maxi, without pockets, and without any ruching cinch panel in the back, has a back zip (yours has a side zip). just be honest.
