Flowers Flowers Yes that resin is for coasters I think you can put hot pots on there up to 450° and they make the best Christmas presents and I sold so many of them last year I could not keep up so you definitely need to do it❤️❤️
They all are beautiful. Anyone would be happy with those. I'm thinking about starting with alcohol inks. But, I still have to finish some crazy quilts. lol. Love ya Monica...................xxx 💖💖💖
What a wonderful tutorial! Just found you. I’m a new subscriber to your channel and I just ordered through your amazon link the set of inks and blending solution.
What gorgeous land behind you in the intro! And alcohol inks look like so much fun! They're beautiful tiles, wonderful. You're looking so lovely too. Ha ha ha, look forward to Dukie surpring us! 🐶
Melissa Phillis Thank you so much Melissa yeah everything is so green this time of year and I’m starting to feel better it’s too hot to actually do some resin paintings Maybe in a week or two❤️😘
Marylou Niebrugge Hi I put felt feet on the back that’s it Because the tile has ridges on the back of it most of the other stuff doesn’t work thanks so much Marylou ❤️
Hi, newbie to alcohol inks. What brand/model heat gun are you using? I bought a Wagner and it gets hot and dries the ink faster than it moves the ink if that makes any sense?
T. Villarreal T. Villarreal I use the Wagner heat gun also when I first started now I use a Chandler tool heat gun Which is so much easier❤️❤️ You can get it on Amazon
Newbie here.. Try to decide which resin to use on coasters to make them heat resistance to a jot cup of coffee without the cup sticking to it? Can you help me? Is Art Resin what Im looking for?
you can use cheaper tabletop resin-eastcoast resin-two parts-easier to mix B with A-same ratio-one to one. amazon carries eastcoast-i use it super glossy-no mask.wear gloves=sticky and best thing to get resin off skin is any kind of oil-then wash hands, then use body or hand lotion.
Hello Monica, new subscriber here. Could you please tell me if I can seal my alcohol ink ceramic mugs using resin? And would it become washable after I pour resin over the alcohol ink mugs?
Joseph Doyen I use a Wagner heat gun If you go under my descriptions you can click on the link it will take you to the Amazon you could purchase it through there it actually gives me a little credit and doesn’t cost you anything Exter thank you so much for watching my video❤️❤️
Absolutely fabulous Monica,I say it ALL the time ....you’ve done it again another awesome video, thankyou so much for sharing. Take care of you and of course Duke, bless you both .
I LOVE this Video... not only is it Beautiful... but the fact you did a Voice Over so we don't have to (try) to hear you over the sound of he heat gun or hair dryer... Great Filming and Editing... Thank you so much for sharing this Beautiful video.

It was strange to see u had a video on today as i was thinking about u in the last couple of day hoping u wer'nt sick You look well. Those tiles are so beautiful. HI DUKE
Gerard & Margaret Lynch Thanks Margaret I really appreciate that yeah I’ve been feeling pretty good it’s just so damn hot here. I figure I’ll wait another week or two so the weather breaks haven’t gotten my shed yet because I was out of work for so long I had to use the money to pay bills Because if I had a shed I would be in there every day painting hahahaha ❤️😘
@@MonicaBarnesArt We are the opposite in Ireland Really no day fine ( one here and there ) since mid July rain some part of every day did'nt cut the grass with 4 weeks I think we will have fine weather
Beautiful coasters. Love the color combination. You mentioned you don't seal the coaster first. Do you ever have a problem with the colors shifting? And you used alcohol and another product to thin your inks, is there a different look that you get by using two different products?
The 91%. alcohol moves the pigments around and thins them but The alcohol blending solution thins them quite a bit more and and blends them together a lot better so when I am going back-and-forth I should have describe that in my video. next time I will ❤️❤️
Hi monica!! Very beautiful final result! 2 questions. 1) which resin brand are you using here? Do you think i will get this results with Art Pro MAS epoxy? And 2) what do you mean with “Heavy coat” of resin? Do you pour it in a specific way or in specific amounts to make it look more thick? I have seen some resin coatings that look so thin, but here, the resin generated even a depth visual effect
I personally have never used art pro MAS epoxy so I don’t know what their heat resistant is I would definitely recommend going on their website and see how much heat the epoxy can take when . I do a heavy coat it just means a lot of resin poured on to the item at one time. Also there are certain types of resin art resin is very thin it gives you a lot more working time where a resin used for table tops is only 15 to 20 minute working time so it’s very thick. I personally use resin from... The epoxy resin store...That’s the name of the website and the type I use is general use resin i use that for everything It has 45 minute to a hour working time it is quite thin but I love it because it allows me to do all my artwork in the time I need it and it also is great for coasters and other things if you do decide to use it make sure you enter the code monica20 at check out to get 20% off it’s very inexpensive resin . you will absolutely love it. It took me quite a few years to find the resin that is inexpensive has a long working time and that I can use for everything and this resin does all that . good luck have fun if you have any more questions just let me know you can always email me at monicabarnesart@gmail.com also thanks so much❤️❤️❤️
Hi Monica, beautiful job there! I'm planning to start with alcohol ink art but I live in Brazil and here I don't have many references of this technique. I was wondering, can I just use tiles without the resin or does it play a important part in the process like making the colors last longer or something related? I hope you see the message 😂 very inspiring video. Thank you!
Hi Brchaz I hope you are doing well and staying safe the resin seals the tile so you can put hot or cold or wet things on the tile without the resin you cannot use it for anything except as an Art piece Thank you so much for watching have fun❤️❤️
Yes you definitely have to make sure that the alcohol ink is dry I let mine dry for at least 24 hours and then I put a coat of resin on top thanks for watching❤️
@@namrahwaseem7234 you need to sand the tile because it doesnt have anything to adhere to first before doing the alcohol ink.then spray it with a clear coat of varnish or sealant-20 minutes later you can pour resin-not brush or paint it on,but pour just enough that it drips over side.
Just gorgeous! SO HAPPY I FOUND YOU, and these are the colors i already had out to use! Synchronistic❤
So pretty Monica, I love alcohol inks. The colors are so bright and vibrant with the resin on top. Very nice girlie 💙💚💙💚💙💚💙

I was hoping to see how you applied resin to the tiles
Hi Ann I just pour it on top of the tiles that’s it❤️
Nicely done! Do you need to coat the tiles with some kind of varnish before you resin them? I’ve heard this but don’t know how true it is. Thanks.
