- This plane has proven to be an enormous surprise .
Like many of you who are fans of the robust h6560, ive been on the look out for something that might fly a bit smoother than the RTF 'janky' radio set up and might also be able to handle breezy conditions a bit better.
This 'Polaris X8' comes in kit form from Ali Express costing about the same as the RTF Raptur but you need your own radio setup.
This video shows me putting it through loads of tests, crashes, Alpha's, stall tests, inverted flying, loops all done with ease.
The kit has no instructions and the shipping box was damaged leading to a few missing parts, all of which are probably going to be in your spares kit, so no major problem. But the big surprise was how easy it was to fly through a full range of 3s batteries 1300mah - 2200mah, the latter is a bit heavy but probably good for windy days. I came to a false conclusion with mine because one of the cells was underperforming.
This is my assessment of the plane.
(1) Probably one of the best all rounder planes.
(2) Great beginner friendly plane
(3) Very Very tolerant to sloppy flying techniques
(4) Great Alpha flyer
(5) Handles wind and waves much better than the H650.
(6) Very agile- loops . rolls inverts - no problem
(7) Very wide flight envelope
(8) Amazing stall characteristics
Add some Hi-Viz sticky tape and tape leading edges for protection and youve got yourself a super fun affordable all season flyer.

My kit came with servos , & esc. I believe They are waterproof
Haha- yes roll on springtime cos the weather here at the moment is brutal for flying . Best of luck with your glider n as for paramotor I’ve found a site Rc castle who sell a 1.28 m glider pnp. Maybe worth checking it out when the bank balance isn’t looking so scary 😂
interesting. I was planning on getting the H650 but this looks outstanding. Will you be doing a build video on the Polaris X8?
Ya I think it’s better than the H650. Build is super easy , the photos at the start of this video show most of the detail
Hello there, loved your video! Does this plane have a 6-gyro mode? Can it do manual mode, as well? Is there any signal/beeping sound when the battery is low before it runs out of power? Thanks!
It does not come with a radio setup, it has all the other parts but you need to install your own receiver

Nice vid bud. Looked at this a few times. It looks like a micro skipper which was a copy of the dragonfly which was a copy of the og polaris 😂😂😂crazy how they can call this a polaris unless the og polaris bloke has something to do with this 1 but i doubt it very much lol china dont ask permission 😂😂😂
You are 100% correct- pure knock off 😈- but to be fair, other than the rubbish propellor it’s a brilliant all rounder. I flew it yesterday on a 4s 1000mah n it went so fast that the back panel covering the esc blew off 😂
@@rcpilots1291 🤣🤣🤣brilliant. Looks a lot more stable than the paptor bud. I like the pap but the radio is crap and it is too light. I still have my old skipper only needs a new motor and it will be back. I went 4s with that and it was awesome 🔥🔥🔥👌🏼
@@propgear123you lucky bugger , having the original Skipper 😅 you are completely right about the pap being loads of fun but a bit too lightweight. Btw I Really enjoyed your flying skills with your paramotor. Id love to try it but I know they are very hard to launch, fair dues to you buddy
@@rcpilots1291 haha bud you would have great fun with a paramotor but man are they a pita 🤣🤣🤣storing them setting it up untangled and then launching it is all a mission. It is a shame because it is the strangest thing I have ever flown and I love it. It is a lot more manoeuvrable than what you expect and can do a couple of tricks but it is more of a chilled float about fly really. Perfe t for fpv on a head tracker I would love to try that 1 day 👌🏼I do love the skipper bud and if hk ever stock them again I will defo grab another 1. Oh I have a hang glider in the loft a thing from the 90s lol I will fly it soon it will be awesome if I can fly both this and para together. I haven't flown the glider yet I crashed on maiden with reversed aileron lol broke it straight away haha fixed now but it is in loft looking sorry for itself 🤣🤣🤣roll on spring ❤️

You say its a kit? So zero electronics? So you will have to water proof yourself.
The esc is waterprofed I believe
Yeah it will ne nowhere near the price of the H650 it will be very much twice the price when you finish and it's not twice as good
