1) They give off a "What if the Red Hot Chili Peppers had formed in Japan and the kids had gone to prep school in the '10s rather than Fairfax High back in the 1980s?" vibe. Great musicianship, more polished, less grit than their influence from the corner of Melrose Av & Fairfax Av, across Fairfax Av from the Silent Theater and just up from Canter's Deli & the Kibitz Room. 2) I was a little worried that the drummer might spontaneously combust due to learning all that I know about playing in Japan from "This Is Spinal Tap", but I'm glad to see him make it through the video. 3) The song rocked and I will probably add it to my list of videos that I like to check out on a regular basis. Nice job, Okamoto's! (Don't totally understand the apostrophe in the band name, but okay.)
@Yael- Japan has been making great electric guitars for decades, so it makes sense that there would be a number of guitar enthusiasts & maestros. The rest of the world seems to like Jazz a lot more than Americans. And most Americans that do like Jazz discovery it in their 40s or after. PS- The "spontaneous combustion" is a joke from that film. It wasn't something that anyone actually believes. The band kept having drummers die and the one that died while they were in Japan spontaneously combusted while performing on stage.

sadly i have to agree. i've been checking out their music lately cuz i'm a fan of hama as a bassist, but they really need to step it up in the songwriting department or they're just talented musicians playing mediocre songs.
