I cheered when the fleece pants made an appearance. I used to rock low waisted button fly jeans but 30 years and 2 kids later, it's jammie pants and stretch leggings all the way. Thanks for the smiles today. :D
You two slay me. When you get old like me (62) you'll remember fashion trends coming up MORE than once. When I was in middle school in the 70s, we wore these jeans as 'hip huggers'. What made it even funnier is none of the girls had any hips to speak of at that age. Wait, maybe that was just me and my Olive Oyl 12-year old figure. Hugs from Maine!!
I'm younger than you (50), & I'm already seeing trends I've seen at least twice! Not to mention, I'm into historical clothing, & so I'm seeing stuff that I know is from 100+ years ago, just through a different lens. And why is it only the awful stuff that comes back?? There are some 70s/80s trends (and even some from the 90s) that I'd be fine seeing again. But the low-rise/hip-huggers? Can all go die in a fire. Those things look good on like 2% of the population, and they aren't actually comfortable on ANYbody (for all the reasons in the song). I don't want wide-leg pants (lord help us, can we not with the elephant pants again?), but let's hear it for natural-waist or higher with a slim, not skinny, fit! And preferably long enough to at least hit the tops of my shoes? Please?
Ahhh... I had a pair of mint green and a pair of peach corduroy hip hugger bell bottoms back in the 70s. I loved those pants! No way I could wear them today.
65 here. When my sisters were wearing hip huggers and elephant bell bottoms. I wore 501's and All Stars. I still wear the same thing today. My sister's, thankfully got over seventies fashion.
Kim does look fantastic in those low cut jeans, but I agree that there should be the option of higher cut jeans for those of us that either can't, or don't want to pull off that look. Also, the flannels looked waaaay more comfortable than either jean style.
I'm just happy to see something besides high waisted mom jeans finally in stores again. They really should always have a basic mid-rise at the least, but preferably a few different rise options instead of rolling solely with the trends.
@@seewhatlove I finally caved and bought ONE pair of skinny jeans from Target only because my friend told me I NEEDED to have a pair and they actually had one Levi's that came in mid-rise. Been a while since I could find much clothing-wise at our store.
Yes! I was so excited to finally see flared legs but then everything was high waist... I tried one pair and it literally gave me hives the first few times I wore it even after several washes... I'm allergic to mom jeans
This was an EXCELLENT parody! I loved the original Heart song back in the 80's, and you did such a great rendition of it. Thanks so much for keeping the fun going!
Totally awesome video. You two are incredibly gifted. The dance moves, singing, lyrics & humor always bring a smile to my face. The best thing is you both look like you are having such a great time performing as a couple. Thanks for your comedic contribution. Our world truly needs it. You two are rad. I guess you can tell I'm from the 80's. Rock on.
You guys are great! It amazes me how you guys constantly pump out music, some original and some parodies, and all of it has more creative lyrics than half of the stuff on the radio today.
I was attempting a free-styling of an R. Kelly remix of "Bump n' Grind" but it's "Nap Time" to my wife when she was wanting to take a nap, but couldn't make up her mind. - "The laundry is tellin me no...but my body, my body's tellin me yes!! I don't see nothin wrong, with a little nap time." If anyone can do this parody justice, it's Holderness!
The lyrics are awesome and love how the words rhyme. You really did a great job writing this parody. And yes of course Kim looks great in those low rise jeans but I agree if I wore them all I would be doing would be hiking them up all day long lol.
OMG that is EXACTLY what has happened at my house! (5:00 stretchy pants for my wife too!) And I had to laugh at Kim calling out it was a fake tattoo - did anyone doubt this? (Honestly, Kim with a tattoo???)
I don't even buy jeans anymore....too hard to sit in all day at work. The seams in the crotch are too thick (4 layers of denim!!) and they cut me when I sit down....ouch! Frankly I'm sick of ALL jeans....the fabric....hot in the summer but cold in the winter, and the color doesn't look nice with so many shades of blue, so limited in what to wear with them if you have a lot of blue tops. I cannot afford to waste money for only one pair of OVERPRICED pants. Kim, loved it when you were jumping into your jeans to get them up and sitting in the car. SO Funny! LOVE both of you!! Incredibly talented couple! Singing / acting / writing is superb!! Keep 'em coming because you get me through my day so many times!!
I am a teen and I LIVE FOR my belly button high skiny jeens. I love high waisted pants. They are more practical and honestly look better than the low ride jeens! I love all you do! you are both so talented!
Right?!?! High waisted jeans are flattering on everybody! And you can wear anything with them, the low rise jeans you have to make sure your shirt is the right length or it looks weird.
I love that there are already a couple comments promoting thrift stores! Thrift stores are also very trendy and will have a fantastic selection 🙂 Last summer, salvation army had a one day sale ( I get their emails😀) - buy a pair of jeans, get a free tshirt. I found 3 pairs I thought would work for me and was surprised that they all fit me great! Mid-forties: I know what I like and what works for my "curves"😊. Thanks for the awesome video!
I'm one of the few people who am glad they're coming back, cause I'm super short, so they're perfect for my body! When high waist took over, I was so mad, cause they all come up to my underbust or worse; my armpits! It's definitely a shame that whenever something is in style, you can't get the other option? We're all different, and it's already hard to find clothes that fit!
Oh my goodness! This is the parody I never knew that I needed. I did NOT. see this one coming! Thanks for doing one of my all time favorite songs. This was brilliant!👏🏽😎❤️
So amazingly creative!! Those jeans work for my granddaughters but I cannot imagine wearing them! However Kimberly, you totally rock them!!! Love you two!

I have missed low rise for 20 years! They have been SO hard to find. I’m in absolute heaven. I cannot breathe in those high waisted strangle pants. Make me feel like Urkle. 😆
😂🤣😂🤣 I literally laughed out loud and started crying when she put the fleece on! Lmfao! Dancing around and how happy Kim is in the fleece pants! I feel this on a soul level! 😂🤣 Amazing one! Hahahaha!
Agree 1000%. I rocked the low waste when I was in my early twenties. I’m 41 and have had 2 kids- not happening anymore. I don’t like super high waste either! Give me AT the waste or juuuuuust below. And really no matter how comfortable my jeans or work slacks are - I’m changing into fleece, flannel, or jersey knit by dinner if not before! Knit pants. Athletics or White Eagle had them for a bit, and they are awesome. I've worn them to a funeral and around town for shopping. It's fleece like but you can go in public!
@@Knight-of-Sarcasm Yes, I have many a knit pant too. They are mega comfortable and I end up wearing them out. Need to throw some away that look worn and get some new.
Love the parody videos. They're great! (Tony the Tiger) As for fashion, some people keep up, some chase it, others are fine to watch it pass on by. At some point, we all grow-up and find a style we are comfortable with. In Kim's case, she recognized a style that will never be seen on her again. I'm sure it's was the same for the Boomer's when mini skirts came back in the 80s. Nothing is worse than seeing a "woman of distinction" trying to pass off wearing clothes from Forever 21. If low-rise jeans are the "no go" clothing option for Kim, what's Penn's? Ironic T's, socks, ties, a braided belt?
Love the song, however as someone who is under 5 feet (and a mom of 2) I like low rise because they don’t cut off my breathing and sit more like a mid rise on me ❤
Definitely one of the best videos you two have done, both of you nailed it with the mannerisms, facial expressions and overall acting. Excellent video.
Kim your rock those jeans! I hated low rise only because I’m a heavier woman and I don’t dare fit or wear a thong, so yeah it’s a no for me personally, but those who love them it’s awesome I just don’t care to see the whale tail either 😂 I can’t believe Penn didn’t know that term😂 I say this all the time I love that my husband and I are your guys age so I understand the songs and the clothes and your 80’s retro videos I understand it all….I feel like we connect being same age! Love this video as all your videos
Oh gawd, the dreaded whale tail and tramp stamp combo. Never again! Haven't we suffered enough?! Are we REALLY gonna have to do this again? 😭On the bright side, you guys nailed the slo-mo jump/colored lighting/fog trifecta in the comfy flannel segment! I was transported to my simpler childhood, back when you only showed your crack when you were mooning someone. 🤣
Here in NH, we just shop LL Bean outlet stores where high rise and mid-rise jeans are always in style!! Maybe it’s just too cold to have uncovered skin or maybe it’s because our state has a high percentage of old people😂…but check out their jeans on-line or come leaf-peeping and buy some jeans!
I feel the same way. I don't have the body I had in my early 20's. I have totally aged myself and got the lower back tattoo before it was called a "tramp stamp". I resisted the high rise mom jean but now I like it. No way can I do the low rise jean again. That trend I'm not doing again. I felt so old the other day and I complimented this younger girl (maybe 20's?) and told her that her outfit was cute. Totally 90's. Very Cher from Clueless vibes. She asked me "have you seen Clueless?" I was inspired by Cher. (I'm thinking Girl I saw that in the theater.) I never felt so old.
Two things... one: you still look great in the low rise jeans ( because no generation is hotter than Gen X) And two: I thought the tattoo was real because it was a butterfly 🦋!!!! Why did Gen X love butterfly tattoos??? I guess we have Mariah to thank for that one!!😅😅😅
I actually love the low rise jeans 👖 because I’m short and I can just tuck a tank top down in there to cover the butt crack 🤪.... but for real, your husband is right. The low rise look better on the body. Anyone else like the low rise jeans 👖? PS: the high rise show my “baby” pooch. Does that make sense?
Me!!! I'm 5'0" and the high waisted trend was a nightmare for me! Even medium rise are above my natural waistline. I better stock up before this trend dies again...
@@kelly1827 my high rise come up under my breasts 😳and the medium rise are okay. But low rise is my perfect fit. I no longer own low-rise because I out wore them 😢. Is target the only place that sells low rise now?
The low rise jeans were never a good look. Even on model-thin girls, they made a muffin top. Btw, I really like the high rise jeans you’re wearing Kim. Can you tell us where you got them?
😅😅😅 I ❤ this one. I had Ditto jeans in the early 70's with the slogan, "Low, low...as low as they can go." Cute flared red jeans, but I was 13 years old. They came back in the early 2000's & then this year. Everything eventually comes back. I like higher jeans now, too.
Loved this! I was wearing lower cut than these as a teen in the 70s, now I try to figure out how the heck I ever kept them up! Everything old is new again.
Yaaassss, Kim! “DO YOU!” The high-waisted jeans scream absolute comfort! Can I get an “Amen” Moms?! 😝 Lastly, Kim can still dance like the best of them and Penn pulls up the rear with his awesome parody songs! Go Team!! 😆
I fell in love with the stretch waist jeggings and bought 5 pair that year. I will never go back to zippered or buttoned pants. If my pants start looking worn, I order 5 or 6 more.
I found a pair of jeans SO LOW they were leg tubes held together with the waistband. Ugh. They didn’t work on me the first time around, h they definitely don’t work now!! This song is awesome and so on target!! Hooray for the fleece!
Penn, once again, I'm amazed at how well you write these parodies. When I think you can't top yourself, you do it again. Kim, great dancing!

Love the song, however as someone who is under 5 feet (and a mom of 2) I like low rise because they don’t cut off my breathing and sit more like a mid rise on me ❤
EXACTLY--who wants a tight waist band up to their boobs?
Omg the memories 😭
Butt crack showing and always trying to hick up the jeans that DONT go up. Haha 😄
I’m with Penn. I think most guys are welcoming of the return of low waisted jeans. 😂
Love this video as all your videos
thanks for being here with us
Kim Rocks those low cut jeans! Kim Rocks anything she wears! LOL You go girl !!!
Kim ~ go to the 2nd hand clothing stores, there you will find older styles! :D
Bring back long shirts/blouses and tunics!
This may be my favorite video yet. I can relate. Wish I could look that good in low rise.
Two things... one: you still look great in the low rise jeans ( because no generation is hotter than Gen X)
And two: I thought the tattoo was real because it was a butterfly 🦋!!!!
Why did Gen X love butterfly tattoos??? I guess we have Mariah to thank for that one!!😅😅😅
Seriously, everyone had the butterfly tattoo somewhere 😂
@@theholdernessfamily Facts!! 😂😂😂
Bless you both!
@@kelly1827 YES YES! Stock up
@@kelly1827 my high rise come up under my breasts 😳and the medium rise are okay. But low rise is my perfect fit. I no longer own low-rise because I out wore them 😢. Is target the only place that sells low rise now?
Fantastic! And yes, I have about 5 of those fleece pants. After work, fleece pants are on and my hair is put up in a messy bun. ITS. THE. BEST.
Love it! My favorite part was the fleece pants too. So funny!
I love the lighting rig in the dining room. I hope that sticks around.
Yaaassss, Kim! “DO YOU!” The high-waisted jeans scream absolute comfort! Can I get an “Amen” Moms?! 😝 Lastly, Kim can still dance like the best of them and Penn pulls up the rear with his awesome parody songs! Go Team!! 😆
Love it!! Got my phone out with the flashlight on, swaying back and forth!!
This is classic. Y'all did a fantastic job with this, who couldn't like it?
Love the 80's song parody. Looking forward to your next one. :)
I fell in love with the stretch waist jeggings and bought 5 pair that year. I will never go back to zippered or buttoned pants. If my pants start looking worn, I order 5 or 6 more.
Thank you for the much needed laugh!! Love those high rise jeans too 😁.
I found a pair of jeans SO LOW they were leg tubes held together with the waistband. Ugh. They didn’t work on me the first time around, h they definitely don’t work now!! This song is awesome and so on target!! Hooray for the fleece!
I smile from ear to ear with every video you and your friends put out. I love it 100%
Love the song!! Great video! Had me laughing, and wanting more!! Keep it going y'all!! Thanks!...😃😃👍👍
