We have such similar opinions. I work in healthcare and I've had a HUGE awakening to many things over the past 3 years. I'm preparing to have my first home birth with our 3rd baby. 37 weeks along now 😊 thank you for sharing your story and advice/opinions. I found you by the video you did on setting boundaries surrounding the birth- so helpful. Congratulations on your beautiful baby girl. Her name was one that I wrote down on my list as well. We're having a boy 😊

Planning my first free birth after having a traumatic hospital birth and wow the phrase you said ‘God doesn’t design broken systems’ is literally spot on. That one phrase says it all👏🏻
Found your channel after watching your home birth and love love love watching you!

I am just amazed at your mind set and strength it's so refreshing. I'm a mama of 5 boys all c sections and I cant help but wonder if the reason I had to have c sections is bc of the way a hospital reacts to birth... u also almost didn't make it with my last c section and had my tubes tied so I would be able to be alive to raise my boys.. I just keep greatful, thanking God everyday for my boys. Truly blessed. I would totally love seeing some of the other parts of your experience. Would be so neat. Sending hellos from Wasilla Alaska,
    Tschandra

I’m one of those short labor people; 4 hrs #1, 2 hrs, #2, 9 hrs # 3. Even on my third birth the nurse sent me home at 2 cm saying early labor. I argued with her because of my previous labors. I went from 2-10 in forty minutes at home. This is many moons ago with no epidural as an option. 52 yrs old #1, 48 yrs old #2, 45 yrs old #3. Third birth, no meds and I wished I’d done all 3 with no meds.

how past due were you with her? you said you had a different date than your midwives? I am 41+4 and struggling to know what to do - wait to have a homebirth or follow my midwives and go for a medical induction

I went into labor at 42 weeks and gave birth 42 + 1 by their date BUT by my date it was 41 + 6. It’s hard but you’re baby will give the signal when they’re ready!

Would you be willing to do a video on all of the statistics and studies you’ve found surrounding home birth? Maybe links to some studies you found helpful, and some statistics on the cascade of interventions/ billing of a hospital birth?
I have found a few but would love to keep learning! Currently I am keeping a binder of all the studies I have found for my husband to feel more comfortable with home birth!

Actually, mine was exactly like that. Water broke at home 3 weeks early at 6pm and it was rush rush rush and my 1st baby was born at 11:04pm. So it really does happen.
