I'm a Longshoreman in Canada and this is the job I do. Was wondering why it looks to move so slow? Is this on purpose or is this the max capabilities of this RTG?
I'm looking to do the same type of job that you do. But frankly, right now I have absolutely no familiarity or knowledge with this. I was wondering if you could give me some basics of what I'm getting myself into, what I need, what kinds of training I need, etcetera. Cause it doesn't look like a half bad job and I bet the pay is wicked.
Daniel Cannata It is not an easy industry to get into. I am being completely honest. I would find out what the local's website is and watch to see when they are doing a hiring. They may want people to go and apply in person or you might be able to enter your application online. Go to the union office and ask questions. It is a rough industry so get thick skin if you don't have it already. It is very interesting work and when opportunities are available to you for machine training make sure to sign up. Having training outside of the industry might not matter to the union. When at their office ask if certain first aid training might make you more appealing as a new hire. Keep aware of what they are doing and when a hiring opportunity comes around. Hope the best for you. Again find their Web page and office location and go and ask questions. Never hurts to be informed

But I do imagine, as it said, no hydraulics or fuel consumption. so no hydraulic assistance. Maybe that's why it moves extra slowly?
