  • Matsuyama City is the capital city of Ehime Prefecture (the traditional name called Iyo) in Shikoku Island in Japan. In order to represent the rich aspect of the region, the clip has pick up Ishiteji 51st Buddhist Temple for 'Ohenro-san' pilgrimage of 88 Temples in Shikoku Island, Shiki-Do for the world of Haiku Poem, Matsuyama Castle for Samurai history, and the one of Japan's oldest and the most popular hotspring resort ; 'Dogo-Onsen-Spa'.

    Lovely city.
    I traveled from Fukuoka to Tokyo in three weeks and this is one of the most memorable cities of my trip.

    I can't recommend it because it's very personal. I've met some nice people there and had a good time.
    I don't know how it compares to the other places you've been to.

    I am planning to do part of the 88 temple pilgrimage, May. I am reading the Shikoku Route Guide now, along with other books. Am wanting to walk and by bus. Need to find anyone to join with me or advise me,
    as i speak english and very little Japanese.
