Having been a victim myself (survived having been shot 7 times) you don't imagine that this can happen to you. It is unimaginable to a normal person. He shot himself with the last bullet in his head. The police officer who questioned me afterwards said that that was good otherwise I would never have been left in peace. 40 years on, went on to become an alpiniste and a successful pt. Had a great partner, sadly now deceased, who gave me back my trust.
I am so pleased that you received the grace to live your life and be happy - I realize a person, and nothing else, is ever the same again, but you still found "normality" and happiness and purpose after. May the Lord bless you till the end of your days.

The police dragged the river for 3 weeks to find a car key suspected of being thrown out a window and found it! Wow, cheers to the men and women in Blue, well done!
My goodness, I am watching this while fighting back tears. These friends are wonderful women and I immediately noticed the compassion in the woman that was calling for help when she was found. Three wonderful women bonding over such a horrific loss.
The work the police did is simply amazing. I remember watching a documentary on conditions inside Brazilian prisons. Cecilia's murderer will suffer. The wonderful lady who found her body, and the great friends who tried to protect her, are such loving and caring women. RIP Cecelia❤
I actually think it worked for the best that Brazil did not extradite him because prisons in Brazil are hell, he would have been treated better in an Australian prison. So, let him rot in that he'll.
He will not suffer, Brazilian prisons are full of men that killed their women. He will be out in 5 or 6. 27 years does not mean 27 years in prison here. Only child molesters, rapists and people who kill their parents suffer here. He will have intimate visitors every week, probably get married while locked up, and live his life. This is Brazilian prison culture.
That’s great when people are too afraid to dispense justice that they joyfully count on the criminals themselves to do it due to the inhumane living conditions they force the criminals to endure. That makes us better people than if we stood up to defend the concept of justice for the public and provided humane living conditions for the incarcerated. 😂
As much as i hate what that guy did, his appearance shouldn't factor in what sort of personality he has. If anything looking at how he presented himself he should've been real lucky Cecilia even looked his way at all, she was WAY outta his league surely. It really is saddening that people with such insecurities and issues that he has that he was never able to fully face them internally and learn to deal with those issues before even entertain the likleyhood of a relationship instead of going into one and have those insecurities interfere well into the course of that relationship. People of either gender should be well adjusted before they consider entering into a relationship.
She gave this sociopath a smile and he latched on to her like a blood sucking rat! His aura was so dark and heavy that when he saw this beacon of light he couldn’t let her go! Bad soul and spirit!

To say stalkers are dangerous is an understatement. They rob a person of their security and safety. For me they are one of the lowest lifeforms on the planet. Their goal is to control an individuals life and destroy it.
Some partners do it from within the family home. You don't need to be an outsider to stalk someone . There are all types of control . RIP to this beautiful lady.
@@dolorestroeller4734 Usually, the word “terrorist” is applied to people who belong to organized groups with an ideological goal they all want to achieve. But patriarchal murderers (men who feel entitled to control, attack, murder their female girlfriends and spouses) I think could be seen as belonging to a larger ideological group. They are both stalkers and terrorists - the stalking is the behaviour, the terror one of the emotions felt by their victims.
Cecilia had empathy for him, not wanting him to be in jail or have a record. Sadly, we cannot have any empathy for people who take away our privacy and safety. I know, I've gone through a similar experience. She was too young to know this much and lost her life. It's a horrific crime and it could be any one of us if we are not careful.

@@vlm5723That's not fair. Responsibility really can't be placed on the friends here. Sometimes when a stalker is so determined and psycho, there's no stopping them. Furthermore she out of misplaced compassion gave him a ride to the airport which gave him an opportunity to kill her. I think he would have done it anyway and I certainly don't blame her, but her friends are absolutely not even one bit responsible for this.

As a father to a young daughter this story truly breaks my heart and had me in tears. Our deepest thoughts and prayers go out to her family but most importantly, to her specials friends who loved her so much! Much love from the US and Colombia!
What really sucks, is that NOTHING will be done until a crime has been committed as it is! The justice system has always failed the victims until an actual fatal incident occurred. Laws need to change DRASTICALLY unless we keep watching these sad episodes.
I had a stalker, an ugly israeli from a town modiin. amir forshmit. He made my life a nightmare, I ended up with a burnout and a mess. There were threats, blackmails, silent phonecalls, phonecalls all night night long, he showed me once that the bullets in his gun were real. He was a body guard, protecting israeli groups. We changed a house, he got my new address. It felt like walking in a grey cloud, danger around the corner. Back then I didn't know that was a criminal deed. I felt confused, scared and also sorry for him. He must have "loved me" so much. Now I know it had nothing to do with anything kind and loving, just an ugly jerk full of complexes who could not respect 'no'. Awful awful people, they are real thieves of joy.
It happened to me when I was in my late 30s a few years ago in the UK. My ex went as far as bugging my flat. I left London for Brighton and he found me through the electoral register. He almost killed me. Police did not take stalking seriously at the time. I left the UK and went under the radar, living off grid on a boat in the Bahamas for about 3 years before returning. I'm 50, and the experience left me traumatised and I have never dated anyone since. I never married nor had children. But I'm okay and thank god I was able to escape and live a relatively fulfilling life.
I’ll never understand why people can’t move on when a relationship ends. The person doesn’t want you. Taking their life won’t change that. Now they’re deceased they still don’t want you. 🤷🏾♀️ REST IN PEACE CECILIA. 🙏🏾♥️🙏🏾♥️
It’s not about love, is about power. Some body like this man needs control of the victim. Once they lose it, they need to regain that power stalking and terrorizing the victim. It’s something like “ if I can’t have you nobody can’t”.
May Cecilia rest in peace. Domestic violence needs to end now. There shouldn’t be this idea that people intervene when is too late. Domestic violence leaves hints for the victims relatives, friend, even police. The complaints should be address and the perpetrators monitor more closely. So they never get a chance to harm anyone.
The unification of the 2 friends and the woman who found Cecelia, oh my God. In such tragedy, the love, communication and connection brought me to tears. Humanity can be so disgusting, and so beautiful (though shown here in terrible circumstances). I wish Police (worldwide) did and could do more for DV. Heartbreaking story that will help others to be told. Cecilia was very blessed to have such beautiful, determined, brave, and supportive friends in her life.
Stalking is a serious crime. It terrifies not only the victims but their friends and family as well for weeks, months, sometimes years, even if they don't end up getting murdered. What makes any man think that he has the right to do this is beyond me. Cecilia didn't report him because she didn't want him to have a record. This should teach all other victims a lesson. Go into hiding if you have to but DO NOT INTERACT with your stalker. EVER! Christine's personality is so heart-warming. To see how much she cares is wonderful.
You’re victim blaming. A stalker won’t stop until he gains control. And that’s usually means ending the life he can’t control. A victim could do a million things differently and will STILL end up dead.
@@simonaxlz Interesting definition of victim blaming. When a stalker can't find his victim he will eventually move on, so hiding is one heck of a lot better than staying where you are and hoping for a miracle.
@simonaxlz Girl, you need to buy a dictionary. Aside from that, you should realise that women stalk as well and kill former partners too. Probably not because they lost control over him but from a sheer emotional place.
Do you know what possession me off, that people keep repeating that quote "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned". Really? How about men who are scorned? Or, "women are emotional ". What about men? This guy got very emotional indeed, to the point of extreme obsession.
So many men are trash, there I wrote it. Every single day there is a story like this. Their fragile over inflated ridiculous egos can't even accept a woman doesn't even want them.
“Just put a stop to it early.. don’t let it escalate.” You’d think these words from an officer who works solely on stalking cases would know- and fully understand that it’s rarely that simple for someone who’s in a relationship like that- or just being stalked by someone they don’t know- in fact that would be THAT much more difficult to try and do anything about the situation. You only have power over yourself and your actions- you can’t control the stalker and the only thing that ever helps in these situations is removing the stalker from the equation- ie put in jail/prison. And even then, they still pose a huge risk to the victim after they’re released. What a blatantly ignorant statement. That right there is why we still, to this day have such problems getting help from authorities because they think that we should be able to “nip it in the butt”, just like that. It’s never that simple. It’s very hard hearing that come out of someone’s mouth who’s sole responsibility is to eliminate these threats.
He is absolutely right. At least the stalker's name is then on police records. Restraining orders can be granted. Cecilia would have been given advice. Re Keeping records. Saving texts or ph voice mail messages. Noting sightings. Not that all of the above can stop somebody killing another because he wants to.
It is a shame no one is ever able to say they do not want to be with a person anymore without losing their life over it. I certainly hope Australia and Brazil begin working on extradition laws as should be the case with all countries to eliminate red tape. Having volunteered for some time with a victims of violent crime unit, in joint with the police; I learned just how important it is to report any threatening or disturbing behavior to the authorities. One should also tell friends and family; they can help, watch, and remember. Too often, the situation escalates to violence, as it did in this poor girl's situation. I feel terrible for her family and friends, and for the couple who found her. The man who murdered her, doesn't deserve to be named. So many lives ruined or scarred; it's all so sad. I wish these folks peace.
You mean so they have the evidence they need to arrest him after he finally murders her? I’m being a bit snarky here obviously but from personal experience & from watching so many of these shows you can call the police every time there’s an incident, tell friends & family, document everything & very rarely do these obsessive stalkers/murderers get any jail time or more than a slap on the wrist for making someone’s life a living hell. The more they do the more they see they’re getting away with it. And we finally have stalking laws but you wouldn’t know it sadly. It is still good advice to document & tell everyone what’s happening but it just doesn’t do much unfortunately.

Right? The audacity of that police officer to say that “you should just leave and not escalate it even further.” That you should “just stop them before it gets worse” is beyond ridiculous. We had a friend in a similar situation and she would not do a thing about it. We weren't under any restraints like that. I got arrested for changing the locks on her doors without permission. But that was the tiny snowball that got things looking better. We helped her make many changes, but she made one huge mistake that we all said she should not do. She refused to get a new phone and new telephone number. And the jerk traced her, through the phone, to a new address. And the security I installed outside her home (without her knowledge) caught her killer coming and going, and it matched with the estimated time of death..... It just seems like all our work only resulted in a more solid police case. One thing different between the Brazilian punishment... In the USA, the JA only got 11 years. And will be out and walking around with two years off for 'good behavior'. This guy in Brazil? Probably will not survive prison there.... The police officer who questioned me afterwards said that that was good otherwise I would never have been left in peace. 40 years on, went on to become an alpiniste and a successful pt. Had a great partner, sadly now deceased, who gave me back my trust.
You're a survivor. I'm glad you got out of that situation. It can't imagine the lifelong trauma.
😳So glad you made it!! Would love to hear your story!!💜
I am so pleased that you received the grace to live your life and be happy - I realize a person, and nothing else, is ever the same again, but you still found "normality" and happiness and purpose after. May the Lord bless you till the end of your days.

The love Cecille's friends have for her is breathtaking. Beautiful people.

@@OwlsEyelash Let's hope prison justice will prevail

To say stalkers are dangerous is an understatement. They rob a person of their security and safety. For me they are one of the lowest lifeforms on the planet. Their goal is to control an individuals life and destroy it.

Usually, the word “terrorist” is applied to people who belong to organized groups with an ideological goal they all want to achieve.
But patriarchal murderers (men who feel entitled to control, attack, murder their female girlfriends and spouses) I think could be seen as belonging to a larger ideological group.
They are both stalkers and terrorists - the stalking is the behaviour, the terror one of the emotions felt by their victims.

I had a stalker, an ugly israeli from a town modiin. amir forshmit. He made my life a nightmare, I ended up with a burnout and a mess.

@@StaceiWI don’t know what I would’ve done in that scary situation but one thing, I’d gone ballistic if someone made a copy of my house key and would’ve changed it and reported that person to the police.
@@anasnow7302I'd have done the same thing!!! People are so naive in these type of situations...
You guys are amazing! You expose criminals and horrible cases that shouldn’t be forgotten. Thanks to you all this information and knowledge is available to the public. There should be more media programs like this one. Keep up with the hard work, 60’ team!!!
Don’t ever care whether or not you get your ex in trouble, do everything to save yourself. I wish she took his jealousy and more seriously, some exes will do everything to stop the ex from moving on without them.
What beautiful, loving friends Cecilia had. And that lady who found her body made me cry. Those three made me see and feel Cecilia. R.I.P.
The tenacity and hard work of the Police Officers is to be commended as well 👍
Rest in peace Cecilia. Good job to the Australian police department for bringing this individual to justice
Spreading her story will help someone even if it’s one person to make a better decision to help someone around them. It always seems such a big dream to stop domestic violence but not trying does not help either. I know she is watching over her beautiful friends and don’t want her to live in the moments of the end of her life but remember she loves you and is always there. I think ever time you see a butterfly 🦋 send her a little hello she is listening
Lots of credit to these awesome investigators. God give this world many more of these remarkable people. May God give her family and loved ones the courage to continue on in her memories and love.
I thought the UK was the most CCTV country in the world, Australia looks like it's caught up.
Thank you for focussing more on telling Cecilia's story through her wonderful friends (including the lady who found her). And making the focus of her murder about her. The fantastic work of the police. The swift justice if the Brazilian judicial system. Not the man who killed her. Despite this being so tragic. So much love and warmth came through her story. May she rest in peace.
Rest well Angel. God bless these three women who loved her
This video is truly heart-wrenching, and it reminds us of the harsh reality of domestic violence. Cecilia Haddad's story is both a tragedy and a lesson. The determination and unwavering efforts of the New South Wales police officers to seek justice are truly commendable. It's essential to convey to victims and their friends that they should never hesitate to seek help and support, even when it seems challenging. No one should ever have to endure such a horrifying situation in silence. We must collectively raise awareness and work to prevent more tragedies like Cecilia's from occurring. Her memory lives on, serving as a poignant reminder that we all have a role to play in ending domestic violence. #EndDomesticViolence #JusticeForCecilia 💔🙏
@Meta1595 you're despicable
R.I.P lovely Cecilia 💐
People have to understand that 'no' means 'no'. At the end of a relationship no one needs to 'listen' to you, and if you find yourself stalking someone online or irl just stop and walk away. Enough is enough with these kind of murders. 😢 Such a pointless, painful tragedy. ANYONE can murder - don't be nice. Put a stop to the bullying and be firm before it's too late!!
Carol & Rita I want you to trade your tears for hope, love, laughter and life. Continue your beautiful lives the way your friend lived hers. Live each day to the fullest. She was so lucky to have two wonderful friends like both of you. Her love lives on. Make her proud❤
Such a sad, tragic story, tenderly told by her friends, loved ones and authorities.

One thing I learn in life. Never be sorry for people who try to harm you. The moment they try to harm you cut all ties and report them. Don’t wait until it escalates
Yes good advice. However people are weak and want somebody else to take control of the situation for them.
I'm feel the same...as soon as bad behaviour rears its ugly head,🎉 kick it right up the arse. They might cry and carry on but stay steadfast and that way you stay alive.
As a Brazilian I'm happy to know that justice has been made. Unfortunately she went through too much distress before being ruthlessly killed by this cruel and callous man.
Stalkers are always dangerous. If your friend won’t call call for her! We all have a responsibility to stop this violence.
BUT will the police actually do ANYTHING?
This was one piece of fantastic detective work. Bravo to the Australian detectives who did a marvelous job piecing together all the evidence...
I can't imagine finding someone dead. I feel for the woman who found her. Once it's over, keep it that way. The more you continue to see them, the more control they have over you. Get out and stay out. Don't answer calls or texts. Eventually the guy will move on to his next victim and leave you alone.
Sociopaths are often triggered by being ignored.
I have found two dead bodies. But they died of natural causes. It still feels unreal though.
I know that this message will not reach the right persons, responsible for this investigation. But I have to express gratitude for your hard work. It was very touching to see the footage from the discovery of her Corcovado keychain 🙏🌼
In Brazil a person stays only 1/3 of the time he is convicted in jail, sometimes even less time. That is shameful because the lady is locked up from this life forever.
Excellent hard work from the Australian police and investigators, very commendable for seeing all through.
These depressing stories all seem to start the same.....the stalked female worried about their exes getting in trouble...then the ex killing them with no regard for them at all! Gotta start worrying about your own safety and stop worrying about how it will affect your ex! If they weren't crazy, unreasonable criminals then they wouldn't have to worry about getting in trouble! People need to start making themselves a priority for real!
I am so sorry for your individual loss and, indeed global loss. I am an ex British Army Sergeant, I have three adult daughters and, I had to protect the youngest from a stalker / idiot.
This pains me knowing how innocent people become deceased because some pathetic man kills her. No one has a right to kill someone unless due to self defense. I feel sad that this happens all over the world. This man is mentally sickened. Justice will seal his fate….
The police work is very commendable and outstanding
As a person who comes from a country where sadly most victims don’t have justice, I can totally understand the frustration, the Australian detectives at least gave her loved ones some sense of justice although her country gave him a slap on the wrist that doesn’t make her justice at all
I like to hear the Brazilian speaking English with an Australia accent. That being said, the law in Brasil sucks. He was convicted to 27 years in prison and he won’t pay for all those years. It’s sad that Brasil does not have life in prison.
God… this is dreadfully sad… she looked and sounded like such an amazing woman.. someone to be proud of and love so much.. imagine how her parents feel … 💔
Thank you Austrália 🇦🇺 for all your work towards Cecilia 💔
I dont know how it is around the world, but here protection orders are basically pointless. So much change is needed. Bless the woman who found her. I don't cry at much, but her voice definitely pulled on my heartstrings.
when someone tells you they are afraid LISTEN to them and BELIEVE them. don't brush their feelings aside thinking he would never do that. I know my ex would still love to get his hands on me 16 years later. it's one of his life dissapointments that he never got to beat me up, like he did to other women.
Wow that moment with all three women at the end made me cry so bad. 😢 wow. She had beautiful friends. I went thru this situation . My ex stalked me physcially assulted me and broke into my house he tried to kill me by the grace oF GoD my dress RIPPED when he grabbed me and i ran out the door. Never went back. He broke into my parents house to my find me too. Thank GOd his cousin was going back to texas where he was from and he left the state and moved back 2 his home state. I got so lucky i know there are those like ceclia who did not. Rip beautiufl ceclia she seemdd like a great person
I'm glad you are safe now. It sounded very scary what you went through.
So sad, how many people have to die like that. Thank you for showing this case. I am so sorry for the family and friends losing this beautiful person.
