This legend made a video about a fictional game and then when people actually wanted it he actually put a version on sale, this is incredible
People are talking about the actual game, but what about the fact that James is literally giving people a list of ways they can view the situation in a positive attitude and counter-acting the bad things? Additionally, for the "frustration card" plays these can be avoided if alternative methods are taken. I truly appreciate the comedic humor and feel-good attitude he approaches it with. He could do a professional-styled self help guide or a music video, or just do covers of popular songs or whatever, but he took the time to have a meaningful depth to the "strategies" and "problems" of the game. Again, going back to his TED video on counter-acting things by finding the game in it all, he approaches surviving the lockdown as a game and I love that.
Aelwyn I completely agree with you and I also think that it’s an interesting video that offers a different perspective on the current situation. However, most of the “solutions” and/or ways to view things positively that he mentions can only be applied if we were to change our living circumstances, which is pretty unrealistic. So, though I do appreciate the new perspective aspect of the video, I don’t find it very optimistic.

Now, I may be in the one too many glasses of wine territory myself here, but...the actual, important takeaway here is: While he IS approaching it as a game in this satirical video, the point of the satire is the pandemic is NOT a game or something to make light of. That too many people are taking it all as a joke and as easy paid time off work where they can fuck around: as ultimately a fun excursion from the reality of life, instead of actually realising this is a real devastating blow to the world and life and acting accordingly in the best, healthiest and productive ways. Just drinking too much and having a wank instead of being productive and helpful towards others. Again, not that I can talk; I'm drunk as all fuck!

You each buy a copy of the game and play virtual lockdown. As long as you all shuffle the cards at the same time (and in the same way) each deck will be in the same order.
You should have at least 3 toilet rolls when you play Science Fiction, as you have to boldly go where no one has gone before.
If you play online dating, do you have to give her something money can’t buy - a toilet roll?
Avoid fake news. If someone rings pretending to be from the tax office, that also counts as fake dues. If they claim to be from Israel, they could be fake Jews. And Levi jeans are fake blues.

I, too, wish he'd make arrangements to produce and sell this game; I'd buy it with part of my $1,200 stimulus funds. This is a masterpiece. The set of cards, the box, the presentation, the way James sometimes but now always doesn't say what's written on the card, the music, the music - voice mix with the voice sometimes getting dangerously overpowered by the music, the editing, the color grading, everything is absolutely on point. Very well crafted video. And funny, too!
You are highly perceptive. It takes all parts to create such perfection.
I suggest some other subtle points, to consider in the careful crafting, three points in particular:
1. At 0:25 with closed captions on, while there is no voice over you can read, “[Are you excited yet? I am and I’m just captioning the video]
2. At 0:48…"the sanitiser things … which I don’t have" (to highlight how difficult they are to get).
3. At 6:15, Covid Cards. "You can play one of the protection cards … Unfortunately there are precious few of these. The game makers I think neglected to plan ahead. But, you know, it is what it is". Then leading to Fake News, and then to
just sheer... I mean just absolute... I mean just complete incomp... I mean a very well done to Mr Veitch.

The difficulty is in counting the unfinished sentences. How do you define them? So many things... the words, the meanings justjustjust ideeeas you know? A complete idea but incomplete except, not. And the incomplete compounds where there are more... together, but also incomplete. Do run-ons count? They're really a big problem, run-ons, we must do something about them, they just can't be allowed to go on because they distort the count and skew the ratio and generally cause confusion about what's going on and what's being said and which ideas are competing against which in this linguistic, tongue-tangled, brain teasing fight to the death where healthy, complete sentences are amazingly being completely overpowered and subsumed by their misshapen, handicapped peers.
I will be the first ever person to do this.

James you need to buy the "Essential Services" expansion it adds a whole new dimension to the game and adds a fourth player, it also includes the exercise cards and expands the stupidity and protection cards.

Sounds like a fun game to play with friends and family, maybe this could potentially become an online game. So I could actually play it with friends during the pandemic.

There's actually a card game called Exploding Kittens which is very, very similar to that. It was started by Oatmeal on Kickstarter and can be now purchased normally.
