I am always surprised at how panicked people become, when confronted with one and that aren't accustomed to bears. Bears demand a healthy amount of respect, but as a born and raised Alaskan and outdoorsmen I find them to be more of a nuisance. We once had to kill 3 bears in one fire season because they kept coming in and raiding our food stache. They are more interested in a cheap and easy meal 9 times out of ten. That tenth time is why they deserve a modicum of respect. Most bears are cowards
