This Hudson, is a J-3a Dreyfuss Super Hudson that pulled the famous 20th Century Limited. The 20th Century Limited was the most exquisite and luxurious passenger service, giving you the literal red carpet.
I'm glad to see you found the New York Central J3a Dreyfus Hudson, LaZeRJet. It is a Pity that the Hudson suffered the same fate as the New York Central Niagara
What about the T1 vs Mallard. They're building a T1 from scratch and it was said it could beat the Mallard in speed. It was a 4-4-4-4 and was estimated it could reach a speed of 140 mph.
The Hudson you've got is a J-3a Dreyfuss Hudson built from 1937 - 1938 (this is the streamlined vertion and the ones from the 1920s werent streamlined oh and there were only 10 streamlined vertions built)
The Hudson's actual class is the J-3a and looked like that to pull NYC flagship express train the 20th century limited, and could you maybe do a race with the Hudson and U.P. 844 vs. Flying scotsman and mallard?
The host is obnoxious! Also top speed speed of a J-3 Hudson was often reputed to be 123 mph.,so it would have been better to have the British challenger as the 126mph Mallard.
Almost all of the famous new York central steam engines survived the scrap era and that was due to the high management not believing preservation was that important and none of their most famous locomotives like the 4-8-4 Niagara's and the 4-6-4 Hudson's survived, luckily 2 of their 4-8-2 mohawks survived and are in museums here in the U.S
America, yeah! ;) also, you are correct about Connor being a Dreyfuss Hudson, Caitlin is a Baltimore and Ohio P7-A, of which only one was built to pull the famous 'Royal Blue' train.
I got an idea for a race. Flying Scotsman versus the Pennsylvania Railroad K4. The reason is that the LNER A1 Pacifics are inspired by the Pennsylvania Railroad K4 Pacifics.
Don't forget the infamous Commodore Vanderbilt Hudson. The first streamlined steam locomotive used for the New York Central System. I would like to see it race against Mallard.
I might’ve known it be USA but you kinda held me back there mate. Could’ve redone the last scene of King of the Railway where Hudson (Connor and Caitlin) vs A1 (Gordon) vs (A4) Spencer. Now that would’ve been far better.
Handsome locomotives! I just love the Dreyfuss Hudson design. It's timeless. Scotty is great too, for he is iconic. It isn't very strange to give engines ' gender ', I hope because I do that too. It's kind of arbitrary but heavily influenced by Thomas and Friends. So for me, the Flying Scotsman and the Dreyfuss Hudson are both ' men '.
We should have a tournament which is the fastest engine category after category. Since there are electric lines up there, electric trains should join in too.
Highly doubt anyone will read this but there is a Hudson left in the world. The C&O YellowBelly. the last surviving Hudson. However its a streamlined Hudson
Oliver, the British tender engines have a lot more class and mile speed than a Streamlined engine. The whole Connor vs Spencer might not be true in reality, because the A4s are faster than a New York Central Hudson in real life.
They are trying to Re-create a Hudson but something always gets in the way of building it like not enough money not enough parts not enough materials and not enough volunteers but they are trying to make a different streamlined steam locomotive I believe it’s called the Pennsylvania 4-4-4-4 Duplex or how everyone likes to call it a T1 duplex But the dumb thing is they’re trying to beat mallards record with the T1 it just sounds like something that you would talk to your friends about
Lazer Jet Do a race competition there will be 20 competitors. Union Pacific 844, Mallard, Flying Scotsman, City of Truro, Sir Nigle Grissley, 9F, Black 5, Union Pacific Challenger, Bittern, Daylight, Tornado, Union Pacific Big Boy, Dominion of Canada, Union of South Africa, Cheltnam, Silver Link, Super Class 37, Class 55, Class 67, New York Hudson.
Well that is a Streamlined J3A it just has a shell that is designed for speed. But the J3A normally is built for speed strength for freight and passenger
Hi Lazer JET. I am David, your romanian subscriber and i sugges you to make a race between a romanian locomotive and a british locomotive. Can you do that please?
The Hudson would win in a race Here's why: The Hudson had far better Acceleration as it was Built-in America therefore it didn't have any Wheelslip And the Hudson's Were streamlined in the 1930s And plus the Hudson's were the fastest American steam locomotive One of them reaching a top speed of 123 miles an hour! And flying Scotsman is a British steam locomotive Therefore it had a lot of wheelslip Just because the Florence scotchman was the 1st engine to reach 100 miles an hour doesn't Mean that's it top speed Flying Scotsman Achieved 103 miles an hour. But it was still beat by another locomotive of its class papyrus Which later beat flying Scotsman in terms of speed Which achieved closer to 110 miles an hour! Which was the average express speed for the New York central at the time.
This Hudson, is a J-3a Dreyfuss Super Hudson that pulled the famous 20th Century Limited. The 20th Century Limited was the most exquisite and luxurious passenger service, giving you the literal red carpet.
Sadly none of the Dreyfuss Hudson engines are preserved and were all scrapped though 😔
@mattiplier yeah honestly I wish there was a J-3a still around and in running condition pulling the 20th Century Limited
shame the train, and the class is no longer around. wouldve been an amazing class to preserve.
They shoulld have those Hudsons rebuilt!...
@@johnarnehansen9574 yes
This particular Hudson is called the Dreyfuss Hudson because of the stream lined shrouding designed by Henry Dreyfuss
Try the one of the Duchesses against the Hudson. The Duchesses did go over 110+ mph, just like the Hudson’s, so it would be a fairer race.
i think the Duchess class in TS isnt very well programmed
@@MRacer001 hm, then maybe the Castles or another class that’s close enough
N&W 611 could also go to 110
@@RailPreserver2K maybe in the game City of Truro
I'm glad to see you found the New York Central J3a Dreyfus Hudson, LaZeRJet. It is a Pity that the Hudson suffered the same fate as the New York Central Niagara
The New York central president deliberately scrapped every one of the trains except two Mohawk class trains, which escaped due to pure luck
What about the T1 vs Mallard. They're building a T1 from scratch and it was said it could beat the Mallard in speed. It was a 4-4-4-4 and was estimated it could reach a speed of 140 mph.
There was actually a guy who claims he saw it go 160+ mph
YES HUDSON I LOVED THIS STEAM LOCO THANK YOU SO MUCH TO ADDING THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LAZERJET IS THE BEST
I wish the New York State government would fund a project to build a Hudson from scratch
agreed
@@CJTrain1225 agreed
I hope all the diesel fuel in the world drys up and the world is forced to use steam engines for railways once more.
Me to

video idea: abuse the living soul out of some tank engines by making them pull heavy freight cars/trucks or whatever
The Hudson's actual class is the J-3a and looked like that to pull NYC flagship express train the 20th century limited, and could you maybe do a race with the Hudson and U.P. 844 vs. Flying scotsman and mallard?

BIG YES
The host is obnoxious! Also top speed speed of a J-3 Hudson was often reputed to be 123 mph.,so it would have been better to have the British challenger as the 126mph Mallard.
Race idea: a spencer(or any a4) flying Scott’s man vs a a2 vs Gordon (or any a1)
Yo I was thinking the same thing 😂😂😂
*insert gordon's theme*
Gordon is a A1
@@Eledia_Nope Gordon is an "A0" prototype for the A1.
@@northernhillbilly2882 i know
The Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR) T1 did 145 MPH before the Mallard went 125 MPH I believe. Your channel if AWSOME! Keep up the good work!
seeing as mallard set its speed record in 1938 and the 1st T1 rolled out of the shop in 1942 I severely doubt that
One of the most epic races yet!
I love the cinematic shots of the trains great job on the video too.
The nyc Hudson is my favorite train 🤩🤩

Great vid lazer jet!! Could you also do a race between Union Pacific 844 and Wadebridge.
Oh yes I have been waiting for this race forever!
Ive been waiting for the next time you use the NYC J3a Drayfuss Hudson! Love the video!
First. I love your vids keep up the hard work
Idea for a future race: Norfolk and Western 611 vs Mallard
these shots are getting every time more epic!!!
Do a race with A1, A2, A3 and A4 steam engines please Oliver.
I got an idea for a race. Flying Scotsman versus the Pennsylvania Railroad K4. The reason is that the LNER A1 Pacifics are inspired by the Pennsylvania Railroad K4 Pacifics.
Finally Scotty has returned
Don't forget the infamous Commodore Vanderbilt Hudson. The first streamlined steam locomotive used for the New York Central System. I would like to see it race against Mallard.
The flying Scotsman they’re designed to be fast while American steam engines are built to haul heavy loads
I really underestimated the as Americans
The Flying Scotsman is so far behind because , just like Honey Badger , he stopped for beer. Cheers, mate from USA
Race The Black 5 Against the N&W J Class, good video btw
When I, Ben Wilmarth do a race like that, I’ll drive the Flying Scotsman so fast, that your eyes will water till the race is over.
Hi Oliver I Had an Idea For The Next Train Simulator Race Is All Train With Wind Deflectors And See Who Is The Fast Wind Reflected Train?
You mean wind deflectors right?

Canadian pacific F2a 3000 class, 4-4-4 is faster then the NYS hudson thats cool, and if your gonna say im wrong then look it up... simple.
Wow what a epic race I love this subscribe 👏👍👍👍👍
For races engines should have coaches to weigh them down and slow them down. It would also show the strength of the engine
I remember watching you ages ago when you did the Thomas the tank engine down big hill
Nice compilation!
the reason the4 hudson is called a hudson is because of the wheel arangments 4-6-4
Can you please please pleassseeee do more UK vs USA races? I love them
That was an amazing race!!🚂
2:18 wait until you see the norfolk and western railway's J class
The New York Hudson was owned by New York Central I believe

Race Idea: Strength Contest of Duchess of Sutherland and Bittern
yay another UK & USA race

Do LNER Flying Scotsman (with 2 tenders) VS BR Flying Scotsman.
Next video, do a race between Tornado Vs Daylight
Yes please do the Challenger vs the New York Hudson
If you think the hudson is cool, the PRR T1 has beautimus streamlining. Infact theyre trying to build one from the ground up as PRR 5550.
I love the new editing 😄
That intro was beautiful
For next race you could do American diesel against British diesel
this pretty much is connor vs flying scotsman
Highly doubt anyone will read this but there is a Hudson left in the world. The C&O YellowBelly. the last surviving Hudson. However its a streamlined Hudson
Nice job mr Oliver
Video idea please lazer jet do the Pennsylvanian K4 Pacific vs flying scotsman or even the K4s nemesis the NYC Hudson
I would like to see a USA vs UK double header race with Silver link and Tornado vs NYC Hudson and union Pacific 844 with the streamliners up front.
Do a race with two American steam engines like the Union pacific challenger vs New York Central hudson
I live in America and the new York central is my favorite train ever
I love the NYC Hudson it is probably my favorite extinct steam engine.
Hey Oliver great video and a race idea for you bittern with two tenders Vs A2 blue Peter for a race or York to Peterborough modern
It would be nice if he did all American vs British steam trains in a race

Just a heads up, the Hudson's max speed wasn't 110. That's just as fast as it was built to go.

If only there was a Single J-class Hudson left. I would assume hypothetically speaking they would streamline it in spirit of it's extinct brothers.
