I concur. Channing was Magnificent in this acting masterpiece. Also, Will Smith did a fantastic job. And also, more importantly, she never looked so beautiful in a movie. Movie medium, is amazing, it captures ones physical beauty before Age destroys it.
Her point about anecdotes and why we hold them and why we retell them and why we feel the need to share them is so accurate and poignant. Also Sutherland's deflection into art dealer mode is so brilliant in how he senses her going off the rails is so brilliant. Amazing acting by both of them. RIP Donald
THE SCENE IS BRILLIANT, her character finally figured out who the fakes and phonies are...it's not the imposter Paul, but she, her husband, and all the people at the table, and the social circle she has been accustomed to. This play and film are both masterpieces.
Having seen the play with Stockard first and then Marlo Thomas I was so happy that the movie was made.. I could listen to Stockard on repeat with any of her monologues.. so well written. This last one, especially.
@@FanceeName he was advised by Denzel Washington (and listened) not to kiss another guy on screen. Pretty bad - and homophobic - advice. There is backlash about that...and rightly so.
Anecdotes ae now called Memes. Although now the purpose of them has become even more ambiguous. Yet it is still very much the same, that lives are presented as entertainment.
I'm here for Donald Sutherland's passing. Anybody here for his recent passing today? RIP Donald Sutherland 😢
Yes :(
This is definitely why I am here. I always remembered his and Channing's incredible portrayals in this film (and to his credit Will's).
Channing should have won an Oscar for this film.

Collin Kelley AGREED!!
***** YOU SHOULD BE A CRITIC!! YOU NAILED IT
Angela Bassett should have won as Tina Turner, but Ms Channing was Fantastic

A compelling performance by Stockard Channing.
I think so.

I'm trying to figure out what's going on in Six Degrees while reading the play. Thanks for this comment!!
I only came to hear will smith do that girls boyfriend up the butt in the park
Amazing final scene. Stockard Channing nails this scene. Beautiful.
This is one of my favorite movies ever. Stockard Channing's performance, especially in this scene, is nothing short of brilliant!
This was an electrifying stage play, a mega hit... can't think of anything like it recently... And the movie is not to be found anywhere.
What a brilliant scene of self realisation it's like being born again without being a fake anecdote
One of most brilliant scenes… EVER.
Such an amazing movie. Brought a LOT to the forefront of my mind and I will always be grateful to the creators.

what the hell happened to Hollywood? this is a wonderful movie.
No mask, just truth. Stunning, beautiful and devastating .
Oh boy... this movie predicted how embarassing that bonkers of a movie, Cats.
Yes, when Cats was released, this movie immediately jumped into my thoughts
It needs the rest, with her walking down the street. It's such a powerful scene.
Yes! Love when she gives God a high-five ✋😆
In this play, artful words bring you up close into the minds of the characters amidst the static of daily living.
Amazing performance
Love Stockard Channing. And the film version of "Cats" has been realized, though it seemed farfetched at the time.
Had to come here after seeing the trailer for the movie "cats"
🤣🤣🤣🤣
😆😆
Great actors both
A beautiful scene
Great, great film, and it's a damned shame Will Smith doesn't like to talk about it.
Dan Williams
Any idea what his problem with the movie is?
@@FanceeName Its because of the backlash of him playing a gay man and what he did in the scenes
Berlin Gray
Ah, “brokeback Will”
Isn’t a fave nic then...😉

Excellent
That movie
Oh that's why he's familiar. He's the Hunger Games guy
i saw it yesterday, all the charactersa are fucking vain to no end.
👍👍👍
welcome to
Im only here because of Will Smith
I didn't laugh once during her whole buzzkilling speech. 0/10 funny.
It’s not supposed to be funny. Come back to it when you’re past the age of 30 and it will become more meaningful to you.
And this scene secured her Oscar nomination for this role. A wonderfully written and acted scene by an incredible actress.
