Here is how I do it: I record the melody entire song on the piano with the right hand playing the melody and the left hand playing just chords. next I decide which instruments should carry the melody then I compose alternate melodies with different instruments that will work with the main melody. At some point during the process I decide what kind of rhythm i want to use. It is very similar to doing an original piece except the melody in this case is not original - thanks for watching

I tried the releasing songs just bc they were popular but I couldn't do it. I recorded a of "Cheerleader" but I can't release it with a straight face, not a fan of that song at all
