Excellent talk Matt! You've really put in "teenage" terms what love, marriage, and worthwhile relationships are all about. Keep up the good work!

I know you say if you dont have desire you're dead, but there really are some people who just dont think about it. It's not as common but it is a thing.

I would love this alot more if the audience was split for different talks. This isn't a male or female only talk, which I think both genders will find this lacking as it doesn't specifically speak to their needs.

I am a Matt Fradd is wrong about the teenagers shouldn't date thing for one thing Mary was betrothed to Joseph at age 14, also Proverbs 5:18 says to be infatuated with the wife "of your YOUTH" I don't think the problem is young dating I think the problem is society not holding teens to the standard of workmanship younger not everyone needs to go to college and get a solid education my Grandfather married at age 18(they dated 3 years before marriage) and recently had his 50th aniversery, that being said I am a huge fan of Matt Fradd and disagree with him on this one issue

There are many benefits to marrying young, that is true and has always been upheld by the church. The problem is that modern dating does not consider marriage. The reality is that dating is a very new fathom in our culture. It really didn't exist even 60 years ago. What our grandparents, more or less, knew was courtship. This is a lost art, and I would argue, causes so much confusion in youth. Every single one of these conferences holds "dating 101" and you have these same questions come up over and over again. Youth are hungry to know what is true, good, and beautiful because they have been boiled in a culture of death. Therefore, I believe it would be proper to teach youth courtship not dating. I know they mean very similar things but there is a difference. Courtship is the direct path of discerning if you want to marry a person, whereas dating is more or enjoying time with another. "Dating" a verb for making dates. That can be divided from marriage. I do agree with your statement of holding men and women to higher standards though and upholding trademenship.

I guess you make things into literal. It is important to know the context esp in bible

I think that he goes to an Eastern Catholic Church. That is their tradition.

Yes “Jesus seated at the right hand of the Father.” And typically the index, middle finger, and thumb are held together to signify the trinity and the two remaining figure Jesus as both man & Christ. That’s how we do it in the Byzantine Catholic Church. Scripture says the sheep will be separated to the right side of the Son of Man, a traditional difference but both rites intend to honor God.

Wow. Such a cringey video from beginning to end. For so many reasons.
On the less serious side, the jokes and puns (the vast majority) that just fall flat... yeah... I actually feel embarrassed FOR him.
And then the content... SO many things that I completely, totally, 110% disagree with. Which, of course he has a right to his own opinions and I and everyone else who listens to him have a right to disagree with those opinions. But so many things he has said that are just not practical and just plain ridiculous.
I won't go into all of my points, because this would be a very long comment. But the main thing that I just found absurd and nonsensical is the idea that teenagers should not date. Ummm... what??? A young person's (both women and men) teen/high school years are the years that people start becoming romantically attracted to other people and discovering their sexuality. His argument that there is no point to dating if you aren't ultimately looking for a spouse is really a bit out there. There are MANY reasons and benefits of dating before one is ready to actually get married. Being in what could potentially act as a "mock marriage" teaches both partners very valuable lessons about how to deal with a member of the opposite sex that you are wanting to make a life with. As a teenager who is dating someone without the intention of marriage, he or she is learning how to argue and compromise with a romantic partner (i.e. Future Spouse), how compromises work in a romantic relationship... As well as what one does and does not like or find attractive. Maybe I think that I really want a man that takes the lead, or wears the proverbial pants in the relationship. But while I am dating a partner who is just like that, I discover that actually, I prefer to be the one who is perhaps a bit more of the dominant partner.
Dating IS practice for marriage or a long term relationship. And it teaches young adults lessons that will help prepare them for future marriage. Or maybe, just maybe, it will teach someone that he or she does ever WANT to get married, marriage is not for them. Insane idea, I know.

i've seen in other talks that he said this except he's talking about people who repress their desires. If you truly believe you were born this way. Then what he said(or maybe should elaborate as I could be very wrong) does not apply to you.
Please don't take anything I said in a hurtful way, I do not wish to do that. Correct me if I did.

I understand not experiencing the same things as others, but I would refrain from using an identity or a label. You are a lot more complex and beautiful than a sexual identity or lack thereof.
