I think you are stalking me now lol, after my coffee and cake? lol when I am not on Dartmoor I wildcamp in my van along this coast line! I wake up to the most amazing views, I watched a pod of 30-40 dolphins for 2 nights, at Park head couple of weeks ago! it was awesome! thanks for the vid x
Hi again :) I see you were there just a few days ahead of us. We walked from The Bush Inn in Morwenstow to Bude Thursday, 13. jul. 2017, and stayed overnight at The Brendon Arms before we went on to Crackington Haven the next morning. This walk was in lovely sunshine all day. This is an amazing coastline. Thank you for sharing your walk :)
Sounds like you were knocking this route out in bulk. I will do that myself further down the line, waiting for the summer and will be trying to camp along the way.
We walked for 8 days in a row from Westward Ho! to Padstow. Luggage transport and B&B reservations were taken care of by Encounterwalkingholidays.com :-) They are brilliant :)
Now I have downloaded Viewranger but not used it yet as I was concerned about how much battery life it used. I enjoyed this cliffline walk today, especially as it is an area we have never visited, Durham to Devon drive has always put me off, as I hate driving. You do right to get some training in mind, I know you have both done Snowdon but I found that quite easy and compared to Ben Nevis, which I have done 3 times, it's a walk in the park. From what I hear Scarfell Pike is more on the Ben Nevis side of difficulty. Funny seeing you out on your Todd but still a very enjoyable watch. Cheers Alan
Viewranger wasnt too bad on the battery actually. Turn off wi-fi and data - it uses GPS to track you and hardly made a dent. Yeah, it is a long drive. Scafell is out of the way now, got back yesterday. Took us 11 hours to drive up, six to get back. Glad you can visit Devon / Cornwall through my videos, I'll show some more soon. Cheers for watching Alan.
Nice one Trev. To be honest i don't usually watch day walk vids but as it was on the Cornish coast (not my side) i thought I'd have a butchers. You picked a good day for it bud, cracking weather and scenery plus not a bad place to get your fitness up for the pike. Cheers Trev. Atb Sconja 👍
Well, I'm honoured that you should join me then, Sconja lol. Cracking area - I think I will start doing more coastal walks / camps. Enjoyed it! Cheers for watching chief!
Nice one Trev makes a change to Dartmoor think I might have to do a coastal video soon. And finally I've watched all your videos the only thing bad with that is I've got to wait for the next one😁👍
Dartmoor Explorer Thanks mate. Yeah, it was a pleasant change actually, and had some good feedback so will probably be doing more myself. Maybe even a solo coastal wild camp. Cheers for watching mate and glad you enjoy them.
Nice one mate, looked like a lovely day for it too. I got rid of my etrex when I got Viewranger. I have paid for the maps and use it to log my walks and as a backup map if I need it in the mist/fog. ATB, Dave
Hi Trev, Its part of the old rifle range that was on the cliffs during the WW2. (Had to google the next bit)...... Used by the Americans when they were stationed in Bude in preparation for the Normandy Invasion.
Haha... I was a lot fitter but it's been so long that I last got out that I'm probably back to square one now lol. Is a cracking walk though, check out my channel for more coastal walks. Thanks for watching!
@@SummitOrNothing haha cheers ! Im looking places to stay in me little camper next month that area, any ideas..wake upto the sea...cheers again bro Subscribed 😇😇
Only just found this one! You ahould go back, the steps have just about fallen in tbe sea and a new path put in place, and the pepperpot is being moved away from the edge of the cliff to presrve it.
seems odd you on your own but enjoyable nevertheless. I is a big fan of viewranger it's worth investing in maps as you can use them on a desktop for route planning, the skyline feature is cool
Yea - just a bit of practice before Scafell, seems a shame not to film it - especially on a daty like that. Yeah, viewranger was good but I ran out of data en route to the Lakes and couldnt install any maps. Recorded our routes though.
