So first things first, I apologize for how my voice sounds in this video. I came down with a cold and it just wouldn't go away. Next up, I'm writing out in detail 2 things that I'm sure will be controversial in the comments. First, the GDP Per Capita is not based off the Nominal GDP I listed in the video. It's based off the PPP GDP Per Capita rather than Nominal, which is why if you check my math and multiply the PPP Per Capita you won't get the same result as the Nominal GDP I listed. Second, I did the population of cities based on their metro areas, not their city limits. Zagreb has a metro population of over 1 million people. If there's anything else, bring it up in the comments :)

      i thought Edin743 actually said "I haven't taken a shower for 7 weeks" hahaha.
I would guess that the best sportists currently are from Croatia, since they already are in top10 football nations n the world and arguably the best nation in handball in the world.
Yugoslavian teams were really good and they would be good today as well.

Yugoslavia worked as long as Tito held the steering wheel. It was a nation built on "brotherhood and unity" even though it was higly multi-cultural and the differences and hate of some nations were there from long ago, yet Tito managed to enforce this peace between the nations with a strict rule and anyone who showed signs of nationalism or talked against the system was quickly arrested and in more complicated cases killed. It worked that way, it sure would not work with modern democracy, plus the industry was based soley on home markets and for markets of "Non-Aligned Movement" nations, such as African and middle east market. We didn't have advanced products that were comparable to what west was offering. Not to mention that the whole country basically lived on loans that Tito got all around the world with his figure.. Yeah overall the average life of a Yugoslav might have been happier than what we have today, but that is not due to better standards, but simpler life style and it took less to make one happy than it is today, people were more connected, there were a lot more public events and organized travels for all compay workers to bond and hang out. I bet even Americans have fonder memories to the 80s than what it is now.

Lets just again hope that USA and NATO respect our morals and not their opportunities to gain power wherever they see it in the world, also the biggest reason NATO even went to war with us 20+ years ago, because of stupid Gold Mines...
Im guessing it will be hard, since everyone today is looking for power, not for the greater of other people and i think thats a big factor that kills any idea of unification, but hey - maybe some person with an actual brain comes to fix all of that. Who knows.......

Standard Croatian and Standard Serbian actually have bigger differences in vocabulary than US vs. UK English. Nevertheless, the two are still the same language because both countries picked the Eastern Herzegovinian dialect, part of the Eastern Shtokavian dialects, as their standard. Eastern Shtokavian dialects used to be spoken actually by Serbs, while Western Shtokavian dialects were spoken by Croatians (as well as the Bosniaks). If Croatians had introduced the old Dubrovnik dialect or the old Slavonian dialect, Croatian and Serbian would be considerably less intelligible. The difference would be massive if Croatian used the old Rijeka (Reka) dialect and Serbian the Niš dialect.

karcavida That Serbian and Croatian are based on the Eastern Herzegovinian dialect, you can check that yourself on google, it is anyway a known fact. If you are curious about the Western Shtokavian Slavonian dialect, read the book "Sveta Rožalija" by Antun Kanižlić (you either buy it or read the untranslated copy on wikizvor) and you will see the differences in grammar and vocabulary. The conservative Dubrovnik dialect is best shown by writers Džore Držić and Šiško Menčetić, read their books and then also read "Judita" by Marko Marulić and you will see how similar the Shokavian Dubrovnik dialect is to the Chakavian Split dialect. For the works of Džore Držić and Marko Marulić, I suggest you read the versions that provide a translation of words. I can find it for you when I got time. You will see that these Shtokavian dialects from Croatia actually differ a lot from Eastern Herzogivinian which is the base for both Standard Serbian and Croatian.

Bruh I am 20, from Macedonia, I worked in Slovenia for a year and have been all around Ex-Yugoslavia. We are not that diverse, I understand all languages and can speak back with my own language and people can understand, only Albanians are a little different but here in Macedonia ( or North Macedonia, whatever ) we have been living together for years. There have been conflicts in the past but it has come to a time when now, in university, I am working with Albanian students on projects and people are living together with no trouble. We should stop fighting against each other and look towards the future, no big Albania, no Big Macedonia that stretches to Thessaloniki, No Big Bulgaria, no ancient empires of the past, but a new modern Yugoslavia (maybe with a new name) without the propaganda centered politics of the past would be great for the people in the Balkans. We can live together in harmony, enjoy a stable economy and kick every countries ass in every sport. I hope the conflicts stop one day and we can enjoy peace with no corruption for once.

Well, that is exactly how it was run while Yugoslavia existed. They always had a multi-ethnic presidency (like a board of presidents consisting of 6 presidents of republics = Collective Presidency) and the chair (sort of main president = President of the Presidency) was rotating annually - every year it was a person from a different republic (rotating presidency) and every republic got its turn. Actually the system was pretty genius. (Of course that system only started after Tito died in 1980 - while he was alive, he was always the President obviously). You can look up on Wikipedia "President of the Presidency of Yugoslavia" - you can see every time it is someone from a different Yugoslav republic/or SAP Kosovo/Vojvodina.

People are saying it’s impossible to reunite because of the ethnic and religious differences. This is only the case for our parents who grew up in Jugoslavija and had to flee from the war. But the younger generations are starting not to care and we are accepting each other, we are realising that we are more similar to each other than different, we are stronger together.

I to big time.
A treba poštovati saveznike...
    Svako dobro.

This is a rather superficial analysis, Slovenia and Croatia were always richer, even while in Yugoslavia. Republics were far from economically equal. Bigger joint market and stronger brand would likely benefit businesses in Slo/Cro. Language is not divided along ethnic lines, Bosnia& Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro and Serbia speak a macro language that is understood among them and was Yugoslavia's official. Religion was not the most "interesting" part actually, economy was always the base of the conflict. Ethno-religious element was just a flocking symbol when things already got out of hand.

Who are their biggest trade partners? What does the road map of such country look like? How much time will it take for me to get from Belgrade to Skopje without border control? How law of these countries is different by now and what are the biggest challenges in reuniting?
