Let's also acknowledge that in 1983, the Soviet Union was suspicious that NATO was going to launch a first strike nuke attack against it at the conclusion of the annual military Able Archer 83 exercise. The 80s were that way. Music was cool too.
It did, outshine the YF22 at the time, in every way except 1 which was not stipulated in the design requirements : supermaneuverability. At the time the establishment was getting concerned with Sukhoi's abilities and even though it went against doctrine which states supermaneuverability will only leave a plane in a state of low energy and so vulnerable, they (contravertially) chose the YF22. But the YF23 was stealthier and faster...

I went to McDonnell Douglas to learn how to do ultrasound, eddy current on their equipment. It was pretty interesting. I learned a lot.
I wonder if it could hi-tempo combat multiple sorties a day for months, or if it would just fall apart.
No worries, @IndianaDoug. they'll roll all that stuff and much more in the B-21.
The yellow color of the cockpit is a very thin layer of gold to protect and cool the pilot.
It's asbestos actually
the f22 is one of my favorites!
It's history now....
😂😂😂😂😂😂
I would’ve enjoyed seeing the YF-23 developed further. I believe if the same tech was applied, it would’ve eventually outshined the F-22.
