New subscriber here, and I needed to share my appreciation for your contribution to the world of information. I scrubbed through 10 videos (in a row) before attempting to scrub through this one. I couldn't scrub; I sat and watched every second and saved it to my private gardening playlist. You were direct, straight to the point, respected your viewer's time, and made it easy to follow. FYI: I bought most of the products in this video. THANK YOU!
Original: 8 cup - Water 1/4 cup - Teatree 1/4 cup - Peppermint 1 tablespoon - 1% Peroxide 1 cup - 70% Alcohol Halfed: 4 cup - Water 1/8 cup (2 tablespoons) - Teatree 1/8 cup (2 tablespoons) - Peppermint 1/2 tablespoon - 1% Peroxide 1/2 cup - 70% Alcohol
I have plain Castile soap and tea tree and peppermint essential oils. Can I adjust this recipe using what I have? If so. How many drops of essential oils and how much Castile soap?
I now use this on all my new plants as a preventative and I’m just an amateur houseplant hobbyist but so far no pests at all. Thank you so much sir. I leave my dog in the bedroom though when I spray this because of the essential oils scent.
I just wanted to thank you for posting a real solution to killing spider mites and aphids. After buying countless products on the market with no results in my desperation to save my plants I tried your method. I figured I had nothing to lose because aphids were going to kill them anyhow. Well, theydid lose many leaves, most of which were in poor shape and likely compromised anyhow, but finally after a month I am seeing new growth and very little infestation. I just sprayed again and expect to get rid of the rest of the lot of awful creepy crawlies. Hopefully they will survive until spring. It's eggplants, peppers and tomatoes. not regular house plants, so I can definitely say it's safe for veggies. In fact, since it's more natural than most of the stuff being sold on the market, that's what I'll be using outside in my garden as well. I'll be ordering your liqui-dirt as soon as my next pay comes in. Thanks again!
I found an infestation of spider mites last night and literally got 2 hours of sleep stressing over this, I woke up did more research and I thank god you came up on my journey, I have so much faith in getting rid of these now due to your knowledge and excellent video! I ordered everything this morning, thank you soooo much!!
My plants were dying and, on a whim, bought an inexpensive microscope attachment (Opti-Tekscope) for my computer. Gasp! That's enough to keep you awake at night. Creepy crawlies everywhere, munching on my plants. Tried Neem oil with no luck. Tried insecticidal soap and the aphids left town but the gnats and incredibly small spiders were still flourishing. Kept researching until I found this video. Cory (sp?) understands his chemistry and his comments on hydrogen peroxide were absolutely correct so I gave this concoction a try. The next day it was a ghost town. Awesome. Thanks, Cory!
I just mixed up a batch. While I was spraying the plants the small flies, mealybugs and spider mites were dying as soon as the spray hit them. I'll comment again to update everyone. Thank you for this mixture. I've been looking for a solution to these nuisances for awhile.

@@maricarol85 I used it a few months ago, I had a bad infestation of aphids and some other little black bugs, this works a treat. Just be careful with sensitive plants, of all my 70+ house plants, only the Pilea peperomiodis suffered and reacted quite badly to this.
I only had 3% H2O2, so I used 1tsp. (3 tsp= 1 Tbsp). Thank you for this recipe, I used it on my zucchini plants and it worked like a charm! About to mix up a batch for my watermelon plants.
This video is LIFE. I had about eight plants that were aphid infested. I found this video and was sucked in. It's straight to the point and incredibly informative. I bought all the products in this video and now have happy healthy plants. I clean each new plant then isolate and clean again before introducing it to my collection. I've used this solution for spider mites, aphids and mealy bugs. Works amazingly. Thank you so much.
I have hydroponics and plants in soil. I fought with fungus gnats for a year and this stuff got rid of them on the first use. On my hydroponics I had repeated white fly infestations. I had to respray a few times over a 1 month period but now I have no more white flies. Every time a flying bug comes near my indoor garden I spray them. I rarely see anything flying around the plants anymore. Usually just a bug flying towards the lights. In the video you say not to save the premixed potion but I have been for about 2 months now and the stuff is still effective. I also love the liquidirt. That stuff is amazing.
FINALLY, a solution for these spider mites. I tried neem oil, miticides, dish soap, you name it. Nothing worked, or was too expensive to be viable. And Neem smells horrible. This video was an inspiration, and I have been successfully treating spider mites for the last 6 months with this recipe. I adjust to use less soap and a little more alcohol, but it's all wonderful. Thank you!

So much ❤ for this video. Followed it to the T, and I added another component- a paint brush. Weird I know, but I noted on my prayer plants, the nesting wasn't getting off the back of the leaves. So I did 2 round of the spray. On the last spray, I did the pain brush. Dipped it in the solution and lightly scrubbed the leaves of larger plants . Did a quick water mist off all the suds. And then one last spray of the solution and then to air dry. - did my back hurt? Yes - did I consider rushing through halfway ? Yes - did my husband tell me that plant parents are a different breed ? Also yes I honestly don't think I needed the last spray but I wanted to make sure my time and energy from the last 2 sprays were not in vain.
1 tablespoon of 1% peroxide equals 1 teaspoon of 3% peroxide. Personally, I’ve never seen one percent peroxide in the store, it’s always 3%. I believe the peroxide degrading is why he says you have to throw this out, so I would try adding a few drops of fresh peroxide if some time goes by without using the product. Otherwise it’s kind of a lot to throw away.
To clarify you can take the standard 3% and dilute it in a 3:1 mix. One part peroxide to 3 parts water to thin it out. We appreciate that you took the time to watch our video. Check out our website, www.liquidirt.com and checkout using the code SaveLD to save 30% Store-wide.

Thanks for your long and detailed video. It was worth it.

My sister shared this video. Bugs were sucking the life out of my beautiful gardenias...whip up a batch of this stuff and sprayed. I saw it killed the ants around the plant. Will keep treating until the creatures are gone. The plant is doing so much better. Thanks for the informative video.
@@LiquiDirt I just saw this video the other day and ordered the Dr Woods. Just came today. Is that recipe safe for cannabis and vegetables? I seen you only used it on ornamental plants. Thanks in advance.
You sir are a hero. I sprayed with TWO different commercial 3-1 spider mite sprays with all kinds of nasty chemicals in it, nada. spider mites almost seemed to like the stuff. I tried your mix, checked again a week later with my 60x jewelers loop and all I see are corpses. Amazing! going to respray as you recommend to make sure we got them all. Thanks so much!

This is right on the pests!!! All of my petunias were full of aphids. Everyday there were more and more of them. I was thinking of throwing them away. Then I saw this video and ordered the ingredients. I sprayed the plants in the evening and most of the aphids were gone that night. Next day I could see a few. Now all those pesky pests are gone!!!!!! I didn't have to get rid of my petunias. As he said in the video, it smells heavenly. Thank you so much Liqui-Dirt!!

I ordered the soaps online, and as soon as the soaps arrived, I mixed it and treated my roses... I've treated my roses a couple times and the aphids are still there, but greatly reduced in number. I've even seen a little progress on mold/fungus, etc.. But this was such a wet spring and early summer that I'm not sure anything will work! Thanks so much.. ANd... you're right. These soaps smell amazing!!!
@@springlakegardening6427 i used it on everything. I sprayed later in the day when the sun was going down so to be sure not to burn the plants and so it would evaporate and could work all nigh. I didn’t get any burning. The squash bugs die in 30-60 seconds. The only thing I haven’t been brave enough to try is seeing if it will work on the eggs. The next bunch i find i am going to take the leaf off the plants and see if the spray prevents the eggs from hatching at all.
Tried this method and it worked for the spider mites on my outdoor alocasia. I've been battling them for a year or more. My plants are very happy and already pushing out beautiful new growth with no signs of pests. I am so happy I found this video. I ordered some Liquidirt too!
@@audrealaureiro4135 Thank you. Someone explained it was simply 1 part Hydrogen Peroxide and 2 parts water. Pretty obvious once I read it, but I wasn't thinking. Thanks again!
Maybe the best garden tip I have ever gotten. My whole yard was infested before I recognized spider mites--there were no webs. I gave everybody a good hosing off, then sprayed this mixture. I didn’t have much hope but the spider mites were destroyed and there is healthy new growth. I think it even treated some blight! Thanks so much.

I sprayed all the plants, soil, floor, even empty work areas (which there is not a lot of this time of year) by the time I was done, I didn't see a gnat anywhere!!! Amazing stuff!!!

AWESOME VIDEO!! I ordered everything that I could and diluted my alcohol & hydrogen peroxide. I will do this to all my house plants tomorrow!! I’m so excited! My question is, what kind of plants are considered “delicate” that I should rinse off??
I just wanted to say one treatment will kill anything bad in the greenhouse or garden. If your plant is really infested it may look bad for a while but it has nothing to do with the treatment. This solutions literally saved my plant room from a huge spider mite/aphid infestation! The infestation was so bad I was devastated! I followed this formula to the tee, even got the heavy duty spray! Found everything on amazon. I’ve used this formula every 7 days... it’s so great!
Hey.. What % peroxide did you use? I cannot seem to find a 1% anywhere. The bottle in this video seems to be the Swan brand and same label as their 3%. But i didnt want to mess up and hurt my plants by using some that is too strong. If you did use 1% can you share where you bought it? Thanks!
I wish i came across this sooner. 100+ plants and i sprayed about 80% of them yesterday with captain jacks pre mix neem oil. Well 8 hours later i had a headache, my eyes were aching, dry and at times felt worse than having an eye lash in your eye poking pain. Lol never again. I knew castile soaps and alcohol are commopy recommended in the plant community but this is a complete treat recipe. I will be sharing this to my plant group. 🎉 TY
I recently did this and it worked wonders. I substituted the tea tree soap for tea tree oil (used like 7 drops) and also added neem oil to this concoction. I had a few gnats and other insects on my plants. To make sure it worked I added new sticky gnat traps and no flys where on them the next day. This method is very effective.
Thanks fir posting this! I couldn’t find tea tree soap and bought tea tree essential oil and wondered how many drops!! I’m also going to use lavender Castile soap in place of tea tree Castile soaps do add the 7 drops of tea tree oil. I know it will smell wonderful!

This just may of (knock on wood) saved half my plants and knocked my thrip problem out! I haven't seen one since the treatment! So glad I found this recipe. Thank you!!!
Hi Stephanie. Did the thrips return. I may have them...still trying to figure out. I see bugs when I bang planterdown. They do t look like gnats. Thoughts? Thanks
I’m dealing with thrips and at this point I want to give up. I’ve tried So Many things almost everyday for over 2 weeks. At this point I want to just toss them, but might try this recipe out since he’s explaining the why behind the what
@@alisonpickford6739 it helps tackle down the adult thrips for sure, but thrips have several different stages of life cycle. The only product that’s organic I’ve tried that actually worked for me, I followed the directions which meant several sprays in several days was called “Nuke ‘em” Aside from that, bombing the room with a fogger like Pythium helps. I might’ve spelled that wrong.
OMG!! I have been looking for this wonderful smell. It’s the same as in my favorite organic food store. Funny.. I got the ingredients to treat spidermites in my N. TX vegi garden bc my cucumbers were just loaded with them. I had an Erika moment making the 2nd batch & sprayed along the cubbord bottoms of my kitchen and baseboards. WATCH OUT IT IS VERY SLIPPERY.. got out my mop & plain warm water & mopped the floors & baseboards. I couldn’t believe how clean the tile & & grout got. The whole house smells soooo healthy. THANKYOU!

The tea tree oil is the ingredient I've been searching for. Thanks! Tip: use soft water (also rain, distilled) and the soap will flow better and completely cover even waterproof leaves.
You want to use filtered water, not soft water. Most softeners use salt and add salt to the final water, which can affect the plants. I can't wait to do this ... every week for a month. I cultivate adenium and plumerias, cactus and succulents. I introduced some New Guinea Impatiens hanging baskets to my balcony and atrium this summer and got a huge infestation of spider mites. I've treated with horticultural soaps, miticides, regular castile soap with neem oil and nothing has worked. I have tried spraying straight alcohol and it seems to work temporarily but they come back. So tired of removing infested leaves and dealing with low bloom volume. Will check back in a month to let you know how it worked.
Just got my two castile soaps today - mixed up a quart like you instructed and treated every single plant in my home! It smells so good and I feel SO good about what I just did, as opposed to using something unnatural and dangerous - plus my plants are SO shiny!!!

I have used this recipe 2x now...for OUTDOOR plants. It eliminated a TON on the 1st application. We saw new aphids after 4 days so we did another spraying around day 7. The very next morning my crepe myrtle trees had new aphids. 2 days later so did one of my hibiscus trees. 😭 I really like this recipe & found that it IS SAFE FOR SUCCULENTS! However I am not 100% sold in its effectiveness on plants outdoors. Just my experience.
I only have the 3% hydrogen peroxide, so I had to do some research as to how to make 3% to 1%. What I found was this... (To make 1% hydrogen peroxide from 3%) = Use 2 parts water and 1 part 3% peroxide. Example: 1/2 cup of water and 1/4 cup of 3% hydrogen peroxide = 3/4 cup of 1% hydrogen peroxide.

Spray very liberally everywhere plants and soil, brush if you want. Good luck!
Just wanted to tell anyone with succulents not to use this on them . It’s wonderful on other plants . And it turns mites to mush ! It’s actually quite amazing. I looked at the plants under the microscope after using this and the mites were absolutely mush . But it burned every succulent I sprayed it on . My succulents hate soaps Unfortunately. Maybe I could try it half strength. I sprayed it on my succulents and rinsed it off after 15 minutes. Great mix for mites though. And I’m gonna get me some Liquidirt . Maybe some nutrients could make my succulents stronger to fight the mites . Can’t hurt either way . And it’s not expensive. Thank you , Cory 😊

I have 300 plants in my home and deal with occasional spider mite outbreaks. This is the kind of instructor that I can stick with - I love that you say WHY to do or not do things! I need that info otherwise it’s hard to discern when someone actually knows what they are talking about vs someone trying to get clicks on their videos. I have been using Dawn dish soap out of ignorance and I’ve been pretty lucky that only a few plants reacted badly. I will be using your method from now on! I’m also going to be buying some Liqui-dirt because fertilizing this many plants gets cumbersome with the little droppers.
I am having an infestation right now with my plant room. Do you take each individual plant out to another room to spray them? Or do you treat them all where they are at? My collection is so big that I don’t know what to do!
This is great. Thank you. I am also using this on my outdoor roses and other flowers. It is wonderful and is helping with the rust and black spot as well.
Yes, please. Im using somehow depot toxic stuff, but it works (I trim off any leaf w black spots, as well, then treat whole bush) did you rinse or leave his treatment on your roses? Im assuming this is important.
It would be helpful to put under the description the links to all the products you are using, as well as for the pump. Also the written formula to include all the ingredients.

I can totally confirm that this solution does work. Thank you for sharing it with us. The first time I've ever heard this combination together. And it certainly is an instant remedy. May I suggest that you redo your video? Because this 1 is 3 years old. It was very difficult for me to find but I do appreciate it
I couldn’t find Dr. Woods at any stores near me and I didn’t want to have to order on Amazon yet. I needed it ASAP because a couple of my plants are full of mites and other aphids and some gnats. I happen to have unscented Dr. Bronners Castile soap and I added 1/2 tsp of tea trea oil and 1 tsp of peppermint oil which again I have plenty of and it worked! I also only had the 3% hydrogen peroxide instead of the 1% he recommended because I couldn’t find it at any stores either and so I just cut the recipe and put 1/4 tsp.
Ok, but there are a HUGE amount of unanswered questions, either make another video or have someone monitor this one and kindly answer some of the questions. That would be great thanks
Or, or maybe put in a little legwork yourself and learning something. Or we need adult supervision with everything instead of using some basic reading skills and acquiring some knowledge you have done yourself. Watch out though you may learn something and may actually put a huge strain on that underworked brain would be my safe assumption.
@@pun1382 why? Why are you talking like this? Calm down! I also have many questions! He is suggesting products that might not be available everywhere so we need to know what to use instead of those that he recommended. I bet the gentleman who made this video will love to learn that people still have questions and for the future he will try to take them under consideration. That is how criticism works and that is why many people say "leave a comment below!"
I just tossed 8 dahlias I was growing indoors cause they were covered in spider mites which I think I brought in the house in soil. I’m ordered these ingredients from Amazon and you liquid dirt cause looking at the comments this works so thank you. I want to use indoors and outside this year cause I had a problem outside in my dahlia patch but didn’t know they cover overwinter in the soil. 😢 But now looks like I have a solution. Thank you 😊
Thank you so much for sharing this. Over the years, I tried everything to get rid of mites in my greenhouse. Nothing really worked until I tried your recipe. Even the brugmansias, wich are very sensitive to anything that we spray on their foliage did not react too much… just a little bit on the edges of the older leaves. Finally something that works!!!
I don't see why not it is all natural. You are supposed to wash produce before consumption any way this is much better than chemicals used on our food supply.

How often do you use it preventatively?
Yeah but those this ratio work for hemp/cannabis?
@@Grow_2_Blow yes for sure
Do you think it will kill thrip? I have an infestation and half of my plant collection has died
Does this work for gnats too? Should I water the plant with that mixture to kill the larvae down in the dirt too?

Yes
- did I consider rushing through halfway ? Yes
- did my husband tell me that plant parents are a different breed ? Also yes
I honestly don't think I needed the last spray but I wanted to make sure my time and energy from the last 2 sprays were not in vain.
Thank you. Thank you very much.
I just went searching and have only found 3% peroxide, so thanks for the conversion..... here I come spider mites, beware!!
You can change the level of hydrogen peroxide by adding equal amounts of water it cuts the level in half

@@shawnjames1451 it did. Sadly this was for my outdoor plants and the stupid mites keep coming back also. I’m so done!!
I just subscribed because I have seen many videos but none like yours. You were very thorough in explaining everything and showing what they look like. I too saw dark spots and thought it was dirt. You were clear with a step-by-step approach and it was easy to follow. Your extra tips were very beneficial. I grow succulents and I am sure I can use this on succulents. if you have videos on succulents, please let me know as my entire patio is all succulents. Thank you for sharing this variable information.
I'm so happy I found you! This is exactly what I needed! I'm so grateful for this recipe. I didn't want to put commercial insecticide/fungicide on my plants for obvious reasons. Cory, I'm so grateful to you. THANK YOU! 😊

This was such an awesome video! Ordered everything off of Amazon. Will report back as soon as I see some change in my outdoor plants.
Any update? Thinking of trying this myself
@@victorrodriguez9017 she must have a huge outdoor selection of plants🥱
Update please😂
Following for update!
Thanks, Calotta ! This is really helpful information ! I hope your plants are flourishing !
Thank you for the tip I don’t know where this guy found the 1% not even online I couldn’t find it
New to plant care. Have already purchased all these ingredients. Your plants are so beautiful. Thank you for this information.
Just purchased all 3 pieces on Amazon. $57 not bad. Wish me luck
Hi sir, I wanted to come back & give my update. I’m soooo happy I found your channel & this recipe. All my plants, including veggies, are doing great. I even spray this around my outside doors & in the basement where spiders like to camp out & *scare the life out of me. I also shared this video with 2 coworkers who are bigger gardeners than me. Thanks so much for your knowledge 🤗
Hi.can you tell me what is the dosage for one litter spary bottle.? I have one litter spray bottle ( European standards)and not a gallon. so I don't know how much to put each engreadient in one litter bottle. can you help me ?!!

If your using it on vegetables do you use the same formula. Seems like its very strong

Liked! Spidermite undetectable after 1 application. I modified the following since I don't have access to all the ingredients...
1/2 cup of alcohol (90%)
2 tbsp of Hydrogen Peroxide
1 tbsp of Canola oil
Replaced castile soap w/ Heat dissolve hotel bar soap
~8 drops of Peppermint Oil
~8 drops of TeaTree Oil
Top up with water until 1L solution. Spray very liberally everywhere plants and soil, brush if you want.
Good luck!
i ordered the stuff ! its coming today! thx for the information !!!! im using it on my THC plants .
How's it working, about to try it today.
@@mx1867 it works well but it will take 3 or four times to get them all! But if you have big buds ! It’s really hard to get it in there !
What effect does this have on butterflies, bees, and other beneficial bugs in the garden?
For succulents use 50% of the soap. Use more alcohol. Up to 25% more.
Remember no sun for a day.
@@LiquiDirt just treated all my plants with this, I was seeing fungus gnats all over my apartment, so hopefully no more! as for no sun for a day, does this count for grow lights as well? I also have been using liquid dirt and have had some great results so far. thank you again for this amazing video!
I want to thank you for posting this useful information that actually works! I used this for my cannibus garden and they are now gone. I must be honest I was completely doubtful about the whole process, but I must say it really work.
tablespoon is 3 teaspoons so it would be 1.5tsp per quart or 7.5ml - with that said, informative. I'll have to give it a try. used soap and neem oil.
I caught the error in measurement also so sticking to the 1 TBL TO 2 quarts . However I can’t find 1 % hydrogen peroxide , only 3 % so I can’t help wonder if we do reduce the amount we use. !
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO . I LOVE HOW YOU EXPLAIN "EVERYTHING" IN DETAIL 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 YOU GIVE A REASON WHY WE ARE SUPPOSED TO USE THAT CERTAIN PRODUCT. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

When I sprayed my spider plants, I found not to let the liquid set where the new leaves are coming in the main plant. Didn't hurt the babies hanging, which led me to realize it was the standing liquid that left black spots on the new leaves coming in. No problem with any other plants. I will be careful in the future to make sure I pour a little water over them after spraying. Thankyou for the information.

Can you share if this recipe is safe on the ‘flower ‘???

Did you rinse off mixture on your roses or left the mixture on?

It was very difficult for me to find but I do appreciate it
Is Dr. Bronners soap an ok substitute for Dr. Woods?
you can get the Dr. woods in 2 days on Amazon :). mine arrived next day
You can get Dr Bronner’s on Amazon, and it’s pretty prevalent around at Whole Foods, health food stores, etc.
This is a great video. Can I use this on my greens, cabbage, etc
Yes but wash before eating as you normally would
@@LiquiDirt what about on cannabis?
Ok, but there are a HUGE amount of unanswered questions, either make another video or have someone monitor this one and kindly answer some of the questions. That would be great thanks
Or, or maybe put in a little legwork yourself and learning something. Or we need adult supervision with everything instead of using some basic reading skills and acquiring some knowledge you have done yourself. Watch out though you may learn something and may actually put a huge strain on that underworked brain would be my safe assumption.
@@pun1382 why? Why are you talking like this? Calm down! I also have many questions!
