      The base engine is lagging. Mazda should offer a 1 price turbo and let customers purchase it on trims preferred and up if they want it.

    I'd rather Mazda makes sure that quality is not sacrificed in the name of production number. Waiting a little longer for the car is better than getting it faster, and then having to bring it back because of quality control issues.
    Also, with camera systems becoming more common, do you think that built in dash cam systems will become a regular feature?

    I was finally able to take delivery of my 2022 CX-30 Carbon Edition this past week and I love it. This ends a several-month wait for inventory to arrive at my local dealership.

    I have only seen one in person so far. I live in LA, and see hundreds of cars on my daily commute, so I am surprised that I haven’t seen more cx50’s out there. The one I says looked really nice.

    I have a PPT polymetal & I LOVE IT! It’s was the only CX50 within 200 miles of my home. So worth the trek to get her! It has a pretty cool VIN# so I’m thinking it’s one of the first off the line. Anyone know what VIN they started production with??

    Thanks for the video. Can you tell us when the specs of the 2023 CX-30 will be out? It's very surprising because Toyota is giving their info on 2023s but Mazda is not. I want to buy a CX-30 but feel like if I buy it now the 2023 will have an improvement.

      This supply chain limitation is changing a lot of timelines. Most 2022s didn’t arrive until January of this year, and I expect the same for 2023. Probably have info and pricing released in November or December with first allocation to follow soon after.

    I'm afraid we might be getting the kings share of allocation here in the NE. Those first few waves March-May each dealership seemed to recieve quite a few, both turbo and non turbo. Right around the time you said you were maybe getting one. I imagine trying to take on Subaru while the production numbers are not in their favor.
    I'd love to pick the brains of the people in charge of allocation and matching to production. Is it by US region, population density, is it state by state or as accurate as county by county? Does the calendar year impact production mix (I'd imagine more miatas get made for the summer, but does that extend to the rest of the lineup)? Real nerdy info like that.

    Driving a leased T PP ZIRCON SAND METALLIC thing in terrible Rainy & slippery bad weather with terrible Fog at NIGHT along PA/VA/WV/NJ/NY highway brings out a new respect for it's performance. The adaptive Headlamps become the absolute Champ especially when you navigate nasty dark Streets as the Lamps turn with your Steering to illuminate everywhere. and the nearest Vehicle is groping way behind while you cruise at or above posted speed limit. Now I understand why there are no traditional Fog lamps on CX-50, none needed. Not to mention "that's awesome" remarks from total strangers. A true Champ. For not claiming to be a "LUXURY" SUV, very impressive performance with commanding dominance in terrible weather. Now, Mazda needs to work on the thirst of CX-50 TPP, I cannot understand why any Company would be producing Vehicles that get 17city, 22.5Hwy in 2023 when they are not classified as Luxury performance Vehicles.

    Will the new CX-50 get a new engine like the CX-70? Or will the CX-70 going to be only hybrids? I'm currently loving the top end turbo trim of the CX-50 but I do like more cargo room and the CX-70 would fit that bill for a more mid-size SUV without going 3rd row.

    • @JSS
      @JSS  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The CX-50 will continue with the 2.5 and 2.5 Turbo. Ultimately the CX-50 will get a hybrid option, but will use Toyota 2.5 Synergy drive. CX-70 may have more space. Not sure if it will be significantly more than the CX-50. Probably more passenger room.

    I was all set to get a CX-50 Prem Plus Turbo. Was even willing to accept a color other than the black one I wanted after being told it would take six months for an order to be filled. However, the additional $7500 markup due to the shortage knocked me out of the hunt. Even the $5000 markup for a non-turbo is too much to accept. Ok, I get it, all about supply and demand. But I also get to chose if I want it that bad or not. Given the higher price point, I’m now reconsidering what was a more expensive luxury SUV (not a Mazda) that is now less than the markup cost of the PPT CX-50. My disappointment is exacerbated by my desire to support made in America meaning American jobs for the CX-50. The leading alternative is built abroad but with an American nameplate. Bottom line, we bailed out the US auto industry two administrations ago only for them to ship jobs we thought we were saving overseas. Not happy with the situation but money talks.

    • @JSS
      @JSS  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I understand your frustrations. No one could’ve predicted the state of the auto industry right now and the ongoing supply chain issues. Maybe you will consider Mazda in the future.

    I'm disappointed in how loud it is in the car vs. the CX-30 or CX-5...also the back doors have a lot of hard plastic which is not the case in the CX-5 or CX-30. I love the look better though but I think I'll wait until the next few years models. And hopefully they improve the Bose bass. Doesn't hold a candle to the 2014 Mazda 3 Bose 😭
