Don’t think you guys get enough credit for all you do leading up to and during race weekend, love your POV to see what a weekend is like for you! Drive safe, have a great year thanks for content!!
Absolutely !!! My in-laws had tickets for decades in the same seats. There were many instances where seat tickets were left to someone in a will because Thunder Valley was always sold-out.
I just wanna say this is an amazing channel, you're able to give us insight's we'd never see with super raw takes. (my first video was you going out of bristol, you having enough balls to keep in the struggle to get it in fourth in that stressful situation, much respect man, all us truckers know that feeling.) Safe travel's!
I think eliminating races at some of the older, smaller tracks and then building huge and very expensive tracks to replace them in the schedule took a lot of fun out of the races. IMO, it made the ticket prices out of reach for a lot of us.
You mean have we forgotten equipment at the shop or track? I don't think I've ever left anything at the shop that I couldn't get at the track, but I have left tools and things like that at the track accidentally before.
Only live car race I ever went to was on a small dirt track in the Sydney, BC area in 1970 with my Canadian cousin. This is the total other end of the scale!
Great video of what a truck driver experiences when entering the smaller tracks. It looks to be stressful and nerve wracking at the same time! Im retired from UPS after 28years as a tractor and trailer driver. I did the overnight logistics run to Richmond, Va and loved my job. I also had 1million miles of safe driving. I always thought I'd like to have a job like yours. After seeing the entry into Bristol and Dover I'll pass lol. Im enjoying my retirement. Props to you and those puckering moments. Cheers from Laurel, Delaware USA.
Man I want to get a job on a race team so bad. Born a raised a Charlotte an have been around racing my whole life. I would be a janitor if it means I could be around the cars a track as much as possible. Driving that big rig into Bristol does look scary as hell though
That does look stressful. I'm not a trucker, but I would assume with all of your experience you don't really need a spotter to give you directions and tell you how to park. You must be a very humble guy to holster your pride and take instructions anyway.
@MotorRacingNGravy let's do this me drive that big truck and we will talk. I almost forgot. I have been to Rockingham, Darlington a few times and Charlotte some.
@@MotorRacingNGravyjust remember you can do something that your drive can’t do and would possibly would scratch the paint job on that beautiful hauler.
Is that still the turn 3 entrance? Steep ! The last time I was there, it wasn’t enclosed, unfortunately the last time I was there was the weekend Alan was killed coming back from a Knoxville appearance… incredibly sad day 😢
Just curious. Is one of the biggest issues not having all 3 series at North Wilkesboro All Star weekend is getting the haulers staged and in and out of the facility over the weekend? Bc I feel if they’re wanting to push 3 day packages there should be trucks on Friday, Xfinity Saturday, and Cup Sunday like they did with Texas. What’s your thoughts?
The Xfinity series doesn't run North Wilkesboro, and the smaller tracks where we do all run (like Martinsville) we either stagger the series to allow one to be gone before the last one parks, OR the first series in will unload their haulers and park outside the track until the event is over
Ok ! ya i didn t know they were rentals I driven long term rental Cascadia trucks for a big transport and all the trucks were Rider and a few pensky Also our reefers were Riders ! i m retired now ! trucking Canada coast to Coast for 35 years !Hey ! thanks for responding ! be safe !🤠@@7viewerlogic670
Cool ! ya, i was surprised when i saw them entering ! that was nice ! I know the feeling of a Cascadia....automatic ! lol was looking for the stick and the clutch for a few days but i got used to it ! ! lol ! 🤠@@joshw1687
They changed it last minute, and they led us in to do a mock run for how the cup Haulers were to park the next day. We still parked in the same order, as is pretty clear in the thumbnail
Those are NASCAR officials, and it's almost always the same guys. The only exception being when the three series are racing at different tracks on a given weekend
If you check out the channel, I've done a few videos on this topic. Short answer is just start handing in resumes. Teams occasionally need back up drivers and that's how most drivers get started
If you check out the channel, I've made a couple videos about this, but the short answer is to make up a good looking resume and cover letter and start handing them out to teams

🥱That was frustrating to watch but I guess a pr for you. After 34 years of doing harder things in less time, doing the impossible it was hard to see the mistakes. Still you did a good safe job.

Nerve wracking for you, but it is so much fun and interesting to watch.
Thanks for all the heard work!
Thank you for watching!
Saw someone uploaded the haulers coming in the track for parking. Amazing video from your view. One insane race with the tires 😂. Amazing video.
I thought that cup race was fantastic!
It always makes me sad seeing that attendance is so bad they close off the lower seats and put ads there. This place used to sell out every cup race
Lower seats have the worse view. The higher the better. If you know, you know
Absolutely !!! My in-laws had tickets for decades in the same seats. There were many instances where seat tickets were left to someone in a will because Thunder Valley was always sold-out.

I can't really speak on the tickets for cup and Xfinity bc I haven't looked into it in a long time, but truck series tickets can be had for around $20
caught 2 of yall truck haulers going down 81, got some pics. cool to see
That's awesome! I see people in their car snapping pics all the time. 🤣
They were talking about something on FOX during the Cup race. Thought I would ask you. Have you ever forgotten anything?
See you in COTA…

That's not surprising, I always viewed UPS as the kindergarten of truck driving.

Make you up a good looking resume, and start handing them into race teams. It may take some time and persistence, but it can be done.
NASCAR is literally hiring along with race teams I just had an interview myself apply dude!
oh man i never considered getting up and down that banking in a hauler 😂 i'd definitely pinch one off
That's one track I wouldn't even try it. 🤣
Great camera angle. In a different video pretty sure I heard some haulers use the engine brake going down the banking.
I usually do, but I honestly didn't think about it until I was already down the hill.
FINALLY, a video with a trucker wearing a seatbelt. As a professional OTR driver, it irks me to see these guys (and gals) driving with no seatbelt.
That's crazy. I haven't noticed that, but as a career driver, I can't imagine publishing a video not being safe and expecting to be taken seriously
I wanna see that pov during a dirt series 😂 holy hell 😮
There's one on the channel from Bristol Dirt 2023.
@MotorRacingNGravy nice! I'm new here :) you got yourself a new follower, yall race rig drivers don't get enough credit!
Do the Christmas Lights drive. Highly recommend it. Get to drive your vehicle one lap around the track (5 mph) at the end. 😀
I'll check into that! I bet my kids would love it!

Coming down into the bowl, it looked like about 8%-10% grade....damn.
I drive a tractor trailer myself, I've only been on one hill on-road that steep
It's not exactly difficult, but it definitely makes me hold my breath every time. 😅
I have never been to Bristol. That track I need to go to one day.
After what we saw Sunday, it should be at the top of your list!

I bet that is an awesome career to have hauling race cars around 🔥🔥
Cool
You'd have to be a damn good driver to be picked for something like this.
You just have to have a clean driving record and either know someone, or get pretty lucky 🤷♂️
You must have nerves of steel driving into that stadium……. You did one hell of a great job 👍🏻😃
Thank you! But I wouldn't say I have nerves of steel. Lol. I'm way too scared for that to be the case. 🤣

Dale Jr wants to see Xfinity series at North wilkesboro next year. My opinion give North wilkesboro a points date and move the All-Star Race.
If leading the pack in is nerve racking imagine being the #2 guy in. I’ll take the lead view every time…
Don’t seem too hard of a spot to get in. Loads of help to get you where you need to go. Good job nonetheless
It's not the worst... it's challenging, but not impossible for a capable driver
nice Pete ! but what s with all those Cascadia Freightliners ? are they all the same team or...what ? lol🤠😋
Most teams usually use the same type of truck to keep things streamlined
Some teams get a discount on Cascadias through sponsorship. Penske has a deal with Freightliner and a lot of teams lease trucks from them
Team Penske probably uses them because of the tie in with the truck rental fleet. Not sure why Hendrick does.

How does one drive for a race team?
Just keep handing in resumes until someone gives you a shot as a backup driver.
How do you say you're leading the whole crew in and there's a hauler in front of you
They changed it last minute, and they led us in to do a mock run for how the cup Haulers were to park the next day. We still parked in the same order, as is pretty clear in the thumbnail
What’s the trick to getting behind the wheel of one of these haulers?!?
@@drivingwithnate6193 no trick. Just live around charlotte and put in resumes. Stay visible and persistent
Quick question: What determines the order of the haulers entering and leaving the track?
We enter based on the owners points standings. We exit just by the easiest way to get us all out. A lot of times opposite of how we come in
ah okay
do you need special permit for haulling the nascars
Is the same guys that direct parking and leaving at every track or does each track have its own crew?
Those are NASCAR officials, and it's almost always the same guys. The only exception being when the three series are racing at different tracks on a given weekend
Thanks! Really enjoy the channel.
What truck series number do you drive for?
#18 Tyler Ankrum
Sam why dont they let all the Haulers exit the track like they do when its Dirt
The incline coming straight out is more drastic, but on dirt that's better than trying to make that turn
Anyone take out that wall coming into the track yet ?
I wouldn't be surprised, but not that I'm personally aware of.
Ill be at spring Martinsville and my hometown area track at Watkins Glen Int'l. Can I meet ya somehow?
Best way is to figure out where the haulers are staging prior to parking, and come find my hauler

Concrete is definitely the preferred surface
