Finally someone said it if it wasn’t for the baroque you wouldn’t have rococo which is late baroque. An the gorgeous neo baroque of the late Victorian - Edwardian period. So basically Dracula phantom titanic fantasy, you have a new subscriber
I just stumbled upon this today while grumping to myself about how I can't find a decent 1660/70s player-modded justaucorps for the game the Sims 4. People really go feral for Versailles content but there's like a gigantic hole for content between Tudors and Versailles. It makes me sad because I love the full breeches, wide skirt look. Can't find any good Cavalier fashion stuff, either. The 17th century is underappreciated in a wide variety of pop culture spaces! Anyway *touches all your buttons and then leaves like a rakehell*
This brings back memories of playing Sims 2! I had a 17th century save, but of course there was no baroque stuff to be had, so I just had to make do with 18th century 😢
I was indeed entertained! Your rapid-fire delivery was able to move the story along quite well. Your musical choices were anachronistic, but I love both Mozart and Beethoven, so what the hell! Thank you!
Great vid! I've loved 17th century fashion ever since the 1973/-74 adaptations of The Three Musketeers. Fun movies that did *not* hold back on the costumes budget! 😍 Highly recommended. Might check out "Restoration" now. I actually really love the hairstyle. Long natural-colored curls adorned with pearls, that frame the face? Yes, please! I honestly find it one of the most flattering female hair fashions that's ever been. Certainly better than the tall, bird's nesty ones that followed in Marie Antoinette's time.
@@teresachaotic.corner Oh, please do! They hold up, and the costumes are *dreamy* . Your video made me wonder if they're as historically accurate as I have thought though, so would love your opinion on that!
Dutch person here. "The Netherlands remaind mostly untouched by the 30 years war" the netherlands had been at war with Spain for 80 yearsa war wich bled over into the 30 years war. But i see how you can get that impression with all the art, trade and colonialism comming out of the Holland region of the Netherlands
Curly hair was all the rage, and frankly, of course you don't like it, you're a 21st century gal! Curly hair is extremely rare among European and Asian ethnicities.
Finally, a small fashion history channel i can love on.

You'll love Restoration. Now I have to check out the '70s Three Musketeers adaptation (I've only seen the '90s version). ❤️

The large buckles were called baldrics and they were absolutely essential to male-wear of the time.

so "round heads" was a reference to the three bar pot helmet that they wore other than that love the video
Both sides wore that type of helmet, that's not where it came from
@twiddlerat9920 both sides made use of it the round heads much more so however if you have a source on where the name came from I'm down to hear it
Elegant Fashion I also love The Regency Era
This video scratched my brain right
thank you!
To have the freedom to not have fun. 😆
I like Elizabethan fashion for women, Baroque for men.

I love it, and I'm a 21 century girl, too..The long curls look, that is, e.g. the 1600s and the 1940s.

Anybody know what music is playing at 4:28-5:00?
I hear it all the time on TH-cam and I love it but have no idea what piece of music it is.
It's called Invitation to the Castle Ball on YT audio library. Hope that helps!
@@teresachaotic.corner Thaaaaaank yoooooou!
