Ortigas center. Is where I stay every year for a rc car race. It's awesome they know we are guest for Ortega family and we get extra security. It's good for the scams and stuff. We walk to our hotel, security and they make them leave real quick

The development in Manila is very different. Instead of spreading the buildings all around the city, they built it by clusters called CBD’s. Manila is composed of 16 cities, and within those cities there is a total of 30+ CBD’s, a well planned city within a city. One example is BGC. That’s why when you turn to one side, you’ll see an area with full of modern and glassy buildings, then when you turn to the other side, you’ll see a less develop area. Manila is rapidly changing. Some areas with modern buildings in the video are houses of illegal settlers just few years ago. Time will come, Manila will be full of CBD’s.

Be careful in the Philippines. 37% of the population live in slums according to the world bank. It has the highest murder rate in all of South East Asia, and the crime rate is also one of the highest in Asia.
Please be careful of the food too, many restaurants in the Philippines refry chicken bones recycled from the garbage called “pagpag”.

The waters adjacent to Manila is not the ocean. It's Manila Bay. It made Manila an important port due to the natural harbour. Another important port is Subic Bay (just to the north of Manila). It is a major deepwater port being leased to the Americans to accomodate their navy's biggest ships.

Enjoy Philippines! Great thing about the Philippines is all you need to know is English, unlike majority of other Asian countries. Knowing that you two lived in Laos before, going from Vientiane to Manila is crazy. Philippines has most underrated beaches compared to Thailand. Boracay Beach and Palawan Beach is beautiful. Hopefully the two of you can go there. Also try SISIG, it's so wrong but so good!

The crowded place you went into after ur bus ride is called Baclaran. Despite the effort of the government agency which is the Metro Manila Devt Authority to claim the street from vendors and alike, and to give pedestrians the right for safe travel or walk, it never materialize bec vendors keeps coming back. They say the local govt allows them to occupy any space out there😂. It is always so chaotic. I usually traverse that place when I still work at the nearby province and it never changed.

Armed security has been there for DECADES! Born and raised in Metro Manila even when I was a kid security guards are already armed. And there is security checks upon entering public and commercial institutions including malls as we had issues of terrorism back in the late 1990s.
Also, tricycles are not allowed to enter Makati especially The CBD.

As foreigners im shookt u went to the busiest areas, Baclaran Market and Guadalupe Market, im telling thru my fone to go to Mall of Asia or BGC or Greenbelt or Alabang. theres a multicab going to MOA from Baclaran near the church where u from. Manila Bay is not a sea, its a Bay and thats a man made dolomite beach and still needs to be cleaned first to be swimmable however in Batangas 2 hrs away from Manila are the white sand beaches abd blue waters. U only went to the most chaotic places lols. Intramuros is the only organized place u went into. I live in a village in a suburb right outside Metro Manila and worked in Manila for like almost 10 yrs and it still mindblown and overwhelms me to go to the places uve been in thats why i dont pass them so much. Philippines has 111M population and Metro Manila is one if not the most populated cities in the world.

That ‘little church’, Baclaran, is miraculous for many! A great many’s prayers have been answered there! It’s good you at least set yours eyes upon it, blessed!
I lived there most of my life and I won’t try the street food, tummy is so weak!
You guys had such an adventure! Haha. You guys went to center of crazy, messy place - if you want dense but at least air conditioned and cleaner go to Megamall haha.
    Grab is your best friend.

Manila is what we called "The Old and Historical Manila" and there is "The New and Modern Manila" which is actually called "Metro Manila" (with lots of Skyscrapers) !!!". Metro Manila consist of 17 Cities in which Manila City is included. The Old and Historical Manila is where you're at and it's a bit disorganized and as you can see not Touristy i would say. The Modern Cities are Makati, Quezon City, Taguig, Pasig etc., most of Metro Manila are very nice places to go to😊✌😊.
