Year to date Tesla delivered 1.1 million cars (mostly just 2 models) and is on track to deliver 1.4 million cars (almost 50% growth year over year). They are selling without advertisements and salespersons in the USA. Competitors pay to media/government/analysts to post negative views on Tesla.
Elon makes false promises on the deliveries. If he knows scaling production is tough then he should just declare that he's gonna start delivering after 5 years or just stay quiet if he's unsure but instead he chooses to lie openly
To His (Elon) credit, he delivered what he promised to his customers. Tesla had a lot of backlog orders for the semis. Even though general public is not entitled to all the details regarding this truck at this point but I am sure the people who are actually buying this truck are absolutely aware of all the relevant numbers. Too much cynicism in this world but also too much hype. We need to find a common ground and give benefit of doubt.
