  • In this video we do a 10,000 mile review of our 35" Mickey Thompson Baja Legend EXP Tires. We bought these tires in May of 2022 and have put 11,000 miles on them in both on road and off road conditions. We let you know what we think so far!

    Running these on my JT for 5k so far. Low noise, no vibrations and the lightest 35inch hybrid I could find at 64 lbs same as the FWP ... will buy again for sure. Glad you made this video, the Baja legend exp is underrated as the Baja Boss gets all the attention ... for unsprung weight sensitive people like myself. These are perfect!

      I do like that they’re lighter… BUT they also run about a 1/2” smaller in height vs most others. Not a big deal but they do run small, height wise.

    How timely. I just put a set of Mickey Thompson Baja Boss' on my 2018 WK2 Trailhawk and just returned from Baja, AZ and UT. So far, I'm a big fan. They're super quiet on the road and give a great ride. They've been great on rock, dirt and did great in deep sand. They were just okay in the mud I encountered on Elk Ridge and the Abajos.

    Yep. Cooper AT3 4s are rock prone too. My wife has the falken wild peak AT3 on her compass Trailhawk and what I like about them (falkens) is that they ride like a performance tire. They're great tires. REALLY good grip on gravel.
    My cooper's have good grip and all of that but I'm not convinced that they're tougher than the falkens. I doubt they are.

    23k miles on my 35x12.5r17 Dick Cepek EXPs. I see why Mickey Thompson decided to keep the design after absolving Dick Cepek. I utilized them on 7 Jeep Badge of Honor trails. Great on and off road tire!

    Good review, Brad. I need to get a new set of tires (about 26,000 miles on my 2016 KGC Overland Trail Rated) but I can't get them here in Greece. So, I'll stick to my OEMs which are more than adequate to the "milder", less technical nature of the majority of the trails I off-road on.

      I went up to a 31.5" tire (265 65/R18) on my Trailhawk (with the air suspension) and I'm very happy with the size and tires (Mickey Thompson Deegan 38, which I don't think they make any more). In my research it seemed to turn into a bit of an engineering project if you even go to a 32" tire (275 65/R18). I didn't want to get into trimming wheel wells or messing with offsets. Just my experience, for what it's worth, not saying I'm an expert.

    How is the ride with them being D2 rated? I have 39” KM3s on my diesel JT and while they are phenomenal off road, at $3000 a set I think id like to get these in 37s for a smoother, longer lasting tire to daily. The 37s are $1450 at discount right now. The main positive to the km3s being C rated is they just eat up bumps on the road and off road they are great even at 40mph running 12 psi on method 701s (I have the Rustys 4” lift with some great shocks)

      How’s the road noise now after 20,000 miles?
      I need a set for my campervan. I’m looking for the aggressive look without being noisey.
      Also.. weighing nearly 3000 pounds… I don’t want a tyre that lets go in the rain. My falken WP’s let go in the rain quite often
      I will be going on dirty muddy trails to get to campsites, but I definitely won’t be taking my van off roading, because it’s just not practical as things fly around in the cabin.
      The thing im also trying to avoid is that vibration or transfer of road chatter.
      Would you say that the compound is soft enough and side walls being 2 ply, that it helps ?
      I’d love to hear back from you! 🙏🏻
      Great review 👌🏼👌🏼

    All your information is wrong. The MOPAR lift is only 2” not 2.5”. Original equipment tire include Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure with Kevlar, Bridgestone Dueler A/T RH-S, or Bridgestone Dueler H/T 685. Which tire depends on options. The Rubicon and Rubicon 392 trims have 17-inch wheels and BFGoodrich K02 All-Terrain tires sized at LT285/70R17…. WildPeaks are and have never been an option.

    • @MeetTheSLAYER
      @MeetTheSLAYER ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Funny how I could pick one up from the Jeep dealership with Wildpeaks. The lift, yeah it is only a 2" lift, it is advertised as a 2.5" which is where they are coming from.

    • @mattbrew11
      @mattbrew11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope. Your information is wrong. While the mopar lift may be called a 2” lift, its 2.5” on every single rubicon gladiator and on other trims its 3”
      You could not possibly be any more incorrect on your tire knowledge rubicon gladiators come ONLY with Falken tires, either all terrain or mud terrain.
      For a guy with an ego large enough to try and call someone out, you sure don’t have any knowledge at all. Do better
