    I got me a depth master 8ft rod for medium down rigging . I’m tryna run dipsys with spoons, with my new boat . I’m new to trolling fishing . In fact this would be my first time doing it. Tips appreciated

    I have spoken with the locals over in Algonac and the current isn't the same along the boardwalk as it is over in Port Huron. They have suggested use a 6 or 8oz sinker. I am not sure they are using spoons but maybe a crawler harness with a perch rig style set up but instead of using sneled hooks they set up a crawler harness with spinner maybe. Would you suggest using the same process for walleye where the river splits into 2 channels over where river splits around Harson's Island?

    • @sparrsoutdoors
      @sparrsoutdoors  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes current is alot slower down that way and I'd run crawlers on a 3 foot lead with just a simple hold long shank hook 3 feet off bottom no blades

      They are out, do you have any other suggestions we want to go fishing this weekend in Port Huron on the St Clair river by the Black River? Also what is a good pole to use we just bought ugly sticks medium -heavy 8ft, but they don't seem strong enough to cast 2lbs, any suggestions?

    Used to fish for walleye like this right by the water treatment plant and police station.. worked awesome.. good times. Caught a huge 32 once. I used red eyes or glow baits... It's awesome because while you're waiting for the bell to ring, you can jig with a open reel sheeps and whatever else might be swimming by. Make sure you change your seaweed every 30-45 minutes.. guaranteed this rig works!!! Spent many nights nailing them just like this...

    I am using that rod your holding with the same reel from he same spot. I am using that, and whisker seekers FMJ heavy rod fast action and my trusty game fish boat series glass rod. I run 40 pound braid because it cuts through the current better less drag. I run a 20 pound mono line to my sinker from my three way swivel. I tie all sinker lines with the Palomar knot. All my leaders with spoons I tie a fisherman's knot. I run my sinker at 24" from bottom then I run my bead typically between 4 and 6 feet. Leaders are usually 18 to 20" I have caught fish from all of them leaders being 6" long to 36" long. But most production for me has been in the 18 to 20" range.
    I just got done making my rod holders. I got some scrap 2" ID pipe from work for free and some angle iron for free. I then grabbed some c clamps for cheap and welded it all up I need to paint it now.

      It'll all work. That rod I was holding is by far my least favorite..I like the old school Penn 209 American made with a beef stick rod or 320 gt Penn. The original. But yea different lead lengths for different scenarios but the leads I showed in this video is the go to catch fish every time deal .I'll be down there soon. Pulling the boat out tomorrow though so who knows lol
