If I'm not mistaken, Hitachi carburetors are made in Japan, which means the screws that look like Phillips screws are actually JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) screws. Phillips screwdrivers have a tendency to strip the socket of JIS screws because they don't fully make contact with all of the screw head surface. I learned this the hard way from working on a Japanese motorcycle. JIS screwdrivers are well worth the investment.

The choke makes cold starting very easy on our Terrano Z24 (I'm from Manila). The cable end is frayed, so I disconnected it. May I ask if you are able to do a cold start on your Z24 Terrano without a choke ? As in bomba lang with the gas pedal a few times before starting ? (While I still don't have a new cable) Thank You.
I did not connect the choke on mine, and in the morning, I start the engine by crank the starter without the "bomba". It almost always will start in a few revolutions. Upon cold start, the rpm will be around 500rpm but the engine will not die. After a few minutes of running, and the engine heats up a little it levels at 700rpm. You will need to properly set the ignition timing and Air Fuel mixture in the carb. Thanks for this question. This might be a good topic for my next video. :)
@@trailhuntersph Sorry for my late reply, i just saw your reply now. I actually got a no start problem a few days ago. I decided to tune up the ignition (clean & gap plugs and contact points). I still couldnt start it, till this afternoon, when someone tapped on the fuel pump a few times, and ok na (it might be because i rarely get to even start the engine, so baka the fuel pump got a bit "sticky".). I will start on the ignition timing and idling next (which i have never done on our Z24 Terrano ). I`m assuming the timing marks and pointer will be easy to find. Setting Air-Fuel mixture is something i have never done, for fear of leaning out too much... Thanks so much for your reply ! Patrick

Z24 po ba? Nasa loob ng fuel tank ang fuel pump. Angatin nyo po yung carpet sa likod, may takip doon to access the fuel sensor-pump assembly.
