Amber is a solo artist but also member of kpop girl group f(x) & a collab artist sometimes too. Just a few months ago she put out a new song featuring Scott (no Mitch, just Scott sadly), called Can't Go Yet. She is 31 now, but has been in the business a while. Half her life now, actually. She was scouted when the President of SM saw her pretty face & androgynous look in a crowd at 14.5 years old, got accepted as a vocal trainee for her singing, moved to Korea at 15.5 to start that training, & her group debuted just 2 weeks shy of her 17th birthday. She has always been a tomboy & kept her hair short since her parents started letting her choose, & the company actually played that up as part of her group's image which was different from others since it wasn't really a group image. Rather than being 1 style, the girls all really pushed their individuality. The company discovered she was pretty good at rapping when she took a class on it in training, so in the group she was main rapper. Singing lines get divided up among members, so really a lot of people didn't realize at 1st that she wasn't lip syncing on vocal parts because of how different she sounds singing. They thought she just danced & rapped. (Really? Like the company was gonna waste their time on someone with no singing talent?) The imaginary hair flip is one of her signature moves, a thing she does sometimes to be funny, making fun of the fact that she's a "valley girl" herself even though she's a tomboy. One of her big sister's friends actually had the habit of doing that & she learned from copying her. She even has an alter-ego character called Amberocious that's based on the valley girl stereotype, where she really plays up the mannerisms & speech pattern. [Amberocious comes from Amber + ferocious!😂] Amberocious has popped up a few times in comedy skit types videos on her & friends' youtube channels, but mainly she stays hidden. Amber doesn't do much acting/comedy skit stuff. Mostly she enjoys every aspect of writing & singing various styles of music & producing/directing/filming the videos. Not even counting collabs, she has a pretty large selection of originals, at least 90% written or co-written by her, a few written for her. She has stuff in English, Korean & Mandarin. She does some modelling & appearing in various music variety shows too. The last couple of years she has mostly gone back & forth doing tv shows & tour appearances in China & the US.
