A single column for a 2-way rail track bridge is generally not considered a good design as it can create significant stability issues and potential safety concerns due to uneven load distribution and increased stress on the single support point, especially when trains pass in opposite directions and on curve ways vertically and horizontally. Ginawa din ito sa skyway, in the event of an earthquake (knock on wood) ito ang madaling bumigay ang anchorage ng pier cap lalo na't long span on both sides.
