- There are a ton of Mei bugs this season, all of them originating from an interesting interaction with her new freeze ability. Let's take a lot at how they're caused!

It looks like they're confused with the original structure of the game. There's ownership everywhere in this game, but status effects should not have ownership at all. Even if they needed something like nano does, they should model it after that, not try to hack a design together.
Then again it could be a bug that has always been there and only the latest update allowed it to affect people. When you have thousands of pieces of information being modified and passed around, there's an almost infinite amount of ways to get bugs.

So in the spawn room before every match you should spray your teammates with Mei primary attack and then switch.
Unless u have kiri or lifeweaver
DO it outside the spawnroom, since the spawn room has the same cleanse effect as Kiriko

I love the part where Mei makes a wall and blocks the skill tree progression.

This is the content you deserve, this quality can only achieved when the dev team is focus only on pvp content and drop pve content
The concept of freeze ownership seems to have existed for a while, at least since season 4, as Mei is also able to kill teammates with Blizzard by gaining freeze ownership. I wouldn't be surprised if this system was used in OW1 and not meant for this type of setup especially with how primary fire can now stop on teammates.
i was making a joke last time but i swear to god this game will eventually boil down to which mei can murder their team the best, this glitch has so many factors and is actually INSANE, this community and yourself are just, unrivalled in how in depth you get with these glitches, this is some incredible stuff!

It seems like the two real problems with this is that the freeze ownership does not expire with the effect itself and that teammates are affected by freeze ownership but not the freeze itself.
It's like the system that assigns the effect and the system that assigns the effect ownership are hardcoded separately and the latter has a bug.
I love that you can essentially harm and help your teammates with one bug, one gives them basically slight dmg reduction to the icicle combo and the other allowed you to *sorta* teamkill, or atleast take credit lmao

Definitely a interesting bug to not only deny the enemy Mei the ult charge, but have a method to make enemy Mei not have the kill confirm.
So what happens when a Echo copies an enemy Mei, then freezes her own teammates? Does that Freeze Ownership get assigned to that Mei copy or Echo?

Yep! Something I forgot to note is that spawn areas count as cleanses, so you could do the freeze ownership right outside of spawn once the game starts then swap to protect your team
Technically you could but seeing as it's technically a banable offense to use exploits to your advantage it's probably not worth the risk.
@harms123 just freeze your allies and play normally so you can get funny team kills
@@harms123 You'll only get banned if someone reports, but ask yourself this, why would someone report? I think it would pretty rare they know about this glitch and you'd need enough reporting you. How would they even know who the Mei was after you switch? Yes though, use at your own risk but this glitch is so easy it can happen on accident.
@@aephos-overwatch if someone really knows beacuse of this video or reports of others, you could watch a relpay to get which player did that, so really the only way to get it without report is just 'spraying your team for fun' and trying to not make it look obvious

Have you seen the UI glitch yet? It’s a glitch in which you can’t see any of your character or any of your heads up display, all you can see is when you look down at your feet you’re a blue ball of shiny like dust and energy floating around. There were also glitches I saw where enemies or teammates appeared as these floating orbs but enemies were red rather than blue.
That just happens when you start playing before your PC has loaded the character models. It isn't really a glitch but a placeholder to show something if the skin isn't loaded yet. But in most games it should sort itself out befrore the round starts.
This is known as a performance based issue and it can't be replicated on purpose, but I have ran into it myself a few times

The ult-charge detail is really interesting. That's really strong evidence that the code for adding ult-charge specifically checks whether the damage was dealt to a teammate before applying. That's some seriously defensive coding right there. Or it was a fix for a previous bug lol.
Either way. The fact that the freeze ownership isn't overwritten when reapplied is horrendiously bad coding. The fact that you can get freeze ownership on teammates can be a number of different reasons for, but projectiles do have owners, so that should have been in the formula for freeze effect. I really can't think of a valid reason that would be overseen unless the code really is spaghetti

It's funny, Bliz added a load of non-essential complexity to Mei and there's new bugs, but ... why do we even need this +40 damage buff? Mei could already hit a headshot. Hitting a headshot on a slowed enemy is not hard.
Given the number of problems in the game (e.g. they still haven't reworked Roadhog properly) I don't really understand why they've wasted all this effort on changing Mei.
Why do the devs complicate themselves? Just give icicles a property that causes frozen enemies to explode. It has no effect on Comp or QP, and gets rid of inconsistencies in No Limits
At this point i hope blizzard hires some of the community bug testers like you cause it seems like theres something new every week

Since Mei can teamkill, the Mei players will take over lobbies, and they will think that would be “a-MEI-zing” 👌
That reminds me the crash bug on Junkertown, when you could try to freeze the motorbike on spawn, but since it wouldn't freeze and constantly trying that would saturate the server and close the map
This game should be called now bugwatch, each day is getting closer to paladins bug level
So now we freeze are team in spawn and play a different character before every match

Here's an idea, don't have a character's primary fire affect their own teammates in any way (no collision) unless it's supposed to heal them

The new spawn doors in watch point Gibraltar are bug the attacker can enter defenders second spawn by the new third door you can get in but I still kills the attacker and the defenders can enter attacker spawn second point by the new door by the stairs.

Hanzo damage caculations also seem to be bugged I have a clip of me getting one shot by a hanzo yesterday that wasn't mercy pockted and I was at full 250 health.

You should charge blizzard for that. just say it has a value of 2 million. This is how they do their BP and story mission, they just assign a random but high "value" to it.

I didn’t understand that it boosted icicle damage, I'm glad this related bug exists to show me. I still feel like the damage nerf is just devastating to her previous play style, no easy 1v1ing anymore.

Does doing it before game at spawn last the entire game? Or is it reset when your teammate dies
I think it resets, but also you can't do it in the spawn room, it has been outside of it.

If a teammate dies, it won't reset (unless the teammate swaps), although the original freeze ownership should be applied outside the spawn room
So the optimal play is to make one of your dps swap to Mei at the start of the game and "vaccinate" you against potential enemy freezes... Good job blizzard!
Also a question, does the freeze ownership stay if the target dies/swaps heroes?
Since the spawn room had cleanse-like properties, swapping/respawning could reset that status

I'm trying to wrap my head around the 1:55 to 2:22 part... How is that any different than the enemy Mei just walking up and freezing/shooting? Is it actually YOU who "killed your teammate" (with the 40 freeze dmg or whatever), or is it just the enemy Mei doing her normal interaction with the new changes?
I promise I'm not trying to pick this apart, I'm just genuinely confused 😅
